Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis' wife Amruta Fadnavis found herself at the receiving end of heavy criticism on Twitter, for promoting a Christmas-themed charitable event in Mumbai.
It all started after Amruta shared some photographs from the event, aimed at bringing a smile on the face of poor children ahead of Christmas festival.
Soon after the tweet was posted, Amruta was accused of encouraging Christian missionaries and luring Hindus into the fold of Christianity.
In some of the tweets, the social workerwas asked if she was a Hindu before marriage, while many others said this might not fare well for the chief minister's career.
Done with the shaming tweets, Amruta came to her own rescue with a tweet which read 'love sharing & empathy have no religion'.
This isn't the first time when Amruta has been slammed this harshly on the social media.
