New Delhi, Delhi, India
A birthday party in West Delhi's pub soon turned into a horrific night when a DJ stabbed a 28-year-old gym owner to death following a quarrel over continuing to playing a song, police said.
The nightclub in West Delhi's Punjabi Bagh was hosting a birthday party for a group of nine people on Sunday when one of them approached the DJ to play another song after he had signaled that it would be the last song of the night.
After that man's request was ignored he went up to the console and made the request again following which the DJ snubbed him. Soon after a scuffle took place between the man and the DJ when Vijayadeep, the victim, rushed to the floor to intervene, after which the brawl spread on to the dance floor. A few bouncers started fighting Vijaydeep and his group.
The DJ also smashed a glass bottle on a woman's head, leaving her injured. She was taken to a private hospital and was later discharged after treatment.
The DJ then rushed to the kitchen, grabbed a knife and stabbed Vijayadeep three times. He was immediately rushed to the hospital where he was declared dead. The DJ was arrested on the spot. A case under various sections of murder was registered against the DJ at the Punjabi Bagh police station, and investigations were on, reports said.
The nightclub has now been sealed and is likely to get its license canceled, reports said.
Vijayadeep owned two gyms — one in Vishnu Garden and another in Fateh Nagar.
