
Twenty bodies have been recovered after a boat carrying more than 60 people capsized in the Yamuna river in Baghpat, Uttar Pradesh.
Eight people have been referred to Meerut while 11 people are admitted to the district hospital, the district magistrate of Baghpat said.
Rescue operations are underway.
Twelve people have been rescued.
Uttar Pradesh chief minister Yogi Adityanath has announced compensation of Rs 2 lakh each for the next of kin of the victims.
Six people have also drowned in Maranchi, Bihar.
ANI reported that they drowned in the Ganga.
