Introducing Triple Talaq Bill in Lok Sabha, Union Law Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad said on Thursday that about 100 cases of Triple Talaq have come to light after Supreme Court's verdict.
Refuting the allegations that they were interfering in Shariat, he said that even the Islamic countries have regulated provisions of Triple Talaq.

''When Islamic countries have regulated provisions of Triple Talaq then why can't we a secular nation do it? We are not interfering in Shariat,'' Prasad said.
The minister urged the lawmakers to understand the pain of Muslim women.
''We must understand the pain of Muslim women. Today morning I read the news that a woman in Rampur was given talaq by her husband just because she woke up late,'' Prasad said.
Meanwhile, Mallikarjun Kharge of Congress in Lok Sabha said that bill has certain lacunae which should and can be rectified in the standing committee.
''All of us are supporting this bill, but there are certain lacunae which should and can be rectified in the standing committee. We can sit together and sort out in a time bound manner,'' said Kharge.
Earlier Congress said it will support the Bill in Parliament but said it will raise the issue of criminal provisions in the bill.
Prasad thanked Kharge for supporting the Bill and said if fine whatever suggestions that the opposition gives will be incorporated in the law.
