Lok Sabha Elections, Phase 5 Date, Schedule:Several states in India are voting in the fifth phase of India's general elections on Monday (May 20).The polling for Lok Sabha elections and some state electionsstarted on April 19, the first of the seven-phase elections.

The elections will conclude on June 1 and counting of votes will be done on June 4.

The first phase of the polling covered 102 constituencies of 21 states and union territories (UTs). Ten states and UTs were fully covered, while 11 states and UTs were partially covered.

The fifth phase is the smallest phase in terms of the number of constituencies for which voting is taking place, with voters scheduled to exercise their franchise only on 49 seats across six states and two Union territories.

A total of 695 candidates are in fray.

The states in the fifth phase are Maharashtra (13), Uttar Pradesh (14), West Bengal (7), Bihar (5), Jammu and Kashmir (1), Ladakh (1), Jharkhand (3) and Odisha (5).

Lok Sabha Elections 2024 Date: Phase 5 timing and schedule

The voting for the fifth phase of elections will start Monday (May 20) at 7:00 am IST and will end at 5 pm IST.

To find out the polling booth in your assembly area where you are supposed to vote, use the EPIC number present on the Voter ID Card.

Lok Sabha Elections 2024: Phase 5 key constituencies and candidates

All eyes will be on Uttar Pradesh in the fifth phase, as the bastions of Amethi and Rae Bareli will go into contest on May 20.

Both these Lok Sabha seats are synonymous with the Congress party's Gandhi family.

In 2019, Sonia Gandhi, who won her fifth consecutive election from Rae Bareli, was her party's lone MP from the country's most populous state.

Her son and then-Congress chief Rahul Gandhi, on the other hand, lost to Smriti Irani of the BJP.
