Mbappe's transfer saga has been one of the most intriguing storylines in world football in the last few years. After much back-and-forth, Mbappe last month announced he was leaving Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) on a free transfer.

"Kylian Mbappé to Real Madrid, HERE WE GO! Every document has been signed, sealed and completed. Real Madrid, set to announce Mbappé as new signing next week after winning the Champions League," reported Romano.

"Mbappé made his decision in February; he can now be considered new Real player," he added.

Mbappe departs PSG on a free transfer, meaning the French club will lose huge money on a player for whom they rejected a over $200 million offer from Madrid in 2021. Mbappe departs PSG, having not secured a Champions League, and instead joins the record winners.

Club to make announcement official

According to a report in Guardian, the club will be looking to make the announcement, as early as Monday (Jun 3) due to France coach Didier Deschamps wanting his captain's future resolved before the start of the Euros.

However, Mbappe could only be presented as a Real Madrid player at the Santiago Bernabeu in mid-July as France is expected to go the distance in the continental championship.

While reports claim the deal is done, Madrid president Florentino Perez maintained a stoic silence when quizzed about Mbappe's future on Saturday (Jun 1).

"Mbappé? Today is Mbappé? Today isn't the day to talk about other players," said Perez as Madrid lifted another UCL trophy.

Mbappe will be joining a stacked Madrid forward line that currently is being led by Vinicius Junior and Rodrygo. With the likes of Brahim Diaz, Arda Guler and Joselu already in place and Endrick yet to come from Palmeiras, Madrid could be set to dominate world football for years to come.
