<h2>Bobby Deol spoke about his 'flawed' character in Bandar</h2><p>In an interview with <i>Zoom</i>, Bobby Deol discussed his character in the film, describing it as flawed. Describing Samar as a flawed character, Deol said, "Nobody is perfect. But that doesn't mean you have committed a crime just because your morals are uncertain. You sometimes think you're a nice person; you sometimes think you're the worst person. Human beings are flawed, and what makes us better is when we control those emotions. I don't come across anyone who is perfect. Neither am I. But that doesn't make you a criminal if you have been accused. It could be a situation you get into. Maybe you've pushed someone in a bad way to react to you like that. It's not normal, but it is something that can happen to someone."</p><p>&nbsp;</p><p><strong>Also Read: </strong><a href="https://www.wionews.com/entertainment/bollywood/bandar-movie-review-bobby-deol-s-prison-drama-fizzles-out-after-the-intermission-1780653890872"><strong>Bandar review: Bobby Deol’s prison drama fizzles out after the intermission</strong></a></p><h2>Anurag Kashyap praises Bobby Deol's performance</h2><p>Anurag Kashyap praised Deol's performance in an interview with <i>The Lallantop, </i>saying it surprised him. He said, "Bobby wasn’t insecure for even a second, and that’s why his performance rose above everything. He never once lost his confidence, and because of that, he even started improvising for the first time. I didn’t even have to say ‘cut.' He would deliver entire scenes in a single take. He did things in this film that he’d never done in his life, things he didn’t even know he was capable of. But he had so much trust in me, and I made sure never to break that trust."</p><p>&nbsp;</p><p><strong>Also Read: </strong><a href="https://www.wionews.com/entertainment/bollywood/bandar-teaser-bobby-deol-plays-a-fading-star-accused-of-sexual-assault-in-anurag-kashyap-s-new-film-1778147806131"><strong>Bandar teaser: Bobby Deol plays fading star accused of rape in Kashyap's next</strong></a></p><h2>About Bandar</h2><p><i>Bandar </i>is an Indian Hindi-language crime thriller and prison drama film directed by Anurag Kashyap and Sakshi Mehta Lau. <p>The controversy around Deepika Padukone’s exit from Sandeep Reddy Vanga’s Spirit is far from over. Padukone had walked out of Vanga’s Spirit in 2025 after the makers failed to comply with her demands, which included, among others, an 8-hour workday. The move sparked an industry-wide debate and discussion about what the ideal number of hours is that one must work on a film set. A year since DP’s exit, the director’s brother Pranay Reddy Vanga has shared fresh details about her exit.&nbsp;</p><p>&nbsp;</p><p>While it was widely known that Deepika had demanded an eight-hour workday, Pranay has claimed that the actress also wanted a profit share. Pranay serves as the producer of Spirit.&nbsp;</p><h2>What did Pranay Reddy Vanga say about Deepika's exit from Spirit?</h2><p>&nbsp;</p><p>In an interview with NTV, Pranay opened up about the decision to replace Deepika in the Prabhas-led film. He said the discussions involved several factors, including the actor's remuneration and working hours.</p><p>&nbsp;</p><p>"The reason is the same as what was already mentioned. One was remuneration; the second was timing. Apart from that, there are some other reasons too," Pranay revealed.</p><p>According to Pranay, it was Sandeep Reddy Vanga who decided to move ahead without Deepika. He claimed that the filmmaker had been in conversations with the actress for approximately 18 months and wanted her to play a part in Spirit.</p><p>&nbsp;</p><p>Pranay also hinted that Deepika's recent box-office success had strengthened her position during negotiations.</p><p>&nbsp;</p><h2>'Deepika demanded 10 per cent of film's profit'</h2><p>Pranay also alleged that the discussions went beyond negotiations over acting fee. According to him, Deepika had wanted a share of the film’s profit. He shared, "She demanded 10 per cent of the film's profit. Soon after, everything went overboard. See, she can ask for anything. If we are willing to give, we can give. But the economics (budget) should also work out for us. We thought that it was not working. This is why we thought of other options. Once we started looking for other options, they started leaking everything."</p><p>&nbsp;</p><p>"We discussed the story and character with her. Things discussed internally should not be revealed, but she leaked all of them. That is why we are disturbed," he said.</p><p>Pranay stated that according to his version of the events that transpired during the discussion, the disagreements were not over an additional Rs 5-6 crore as remuneration.</p><p>&nbsp;</p><h2>What was the controversy surrounding Deepika Padukone and Sandeep Reddy Vanga?</h2><p>The actress was reportedly set to play the female lead in Sandeep Reddy Vanga’s Spirit opposite Prabhas. However, the actress chose to exit the film before the shooting began in 2025. Reports stated that her demand for an eight-hour workday shift was not met by the director.&nbsp;</p><p>&nbsp;</p><p>Triptii Dimri was subsequently announced as her replacement opposite Prabhas.</p><p>&nbsp;</p><p>The controversy intensified after discussion about the film's plot and an alleged 'A-Rated Action' element appeared online.&nbsp;</p><p>&nbsp;</p><p>Reacting to the alleged ‘leak’, Sandeep expressed displeasure on X without naming anyone. He claimed that details he had discussed with an actor in confidence had been disclosed publicly.</p><p>&nbsp;</p><p>"When I narrate a story to an actor, I place 100% faith. There is an unsaid NDA (Non-Disclosure Agreement) between us. But by doing this, You've 'DISCLOSED' the person that you are..."</p><p>&nbsp;</p><p>He further wrote, "Putting down a Younger actor and ousting my story? Is this what your feminism stands for? As a filmmaker, I put years of hard work behind my craft &amp; for me, filmmaking is everything. You didn't get it. You won't get it. You will never get it."</p><p>&nbsp;</p><p>Sandeep concluded the post by writing, "<i>Aisa karo.... Agli baar poori kahani bolna... kyunki mujhe jarra bhi farak nahi padtha</i> (Next time, tell them the complete story because I don't really care.)"</p><p>&nbsp;</p><p>He also quoted the saying, "<i>Khundak mein billi khamba noche</i>." and used the hashtag "Dirty PR Games".</p><h2>All about the 8-hour work shit debate</h2><p>&nbsp;</p><p>Deepika has previously spoken about the wider discussion around her working conditions, although she has not addressed every claim linked to her departure from Spirit. The actress spoke to CNBC-TV18 in 2025 about the controversy and said she had fought her battles silently.&nbsp;</p><p>&nbsp;</p><p>"I am someone who has always fought my battles silently, and for some strange reason, sometimes they become public-which is not the way I know and not the way I've been brought up. To fight my battles silently and in a dignified way is the way I know."</p><p>&nbsp;</p><p>In an earlier conversation with Brut India, Deepika defended her reported request for an eight-hour shift and said she did not consider it unreasonable.</p><p>&nbsp;</p><p>"I don't think what I am asking for is ridiculously unfair and I think only someone who has worked in the system enough will know the conditions that we work in. And I am saying this, if I may say so myself, a top star, so you can only imagine what the working conditions must be like for everyone else, for the crew, for example," she said.</p><p>&nbsp;</p><p>She also pointed out that similar working hours have been followed by male actors.</p><p>&nbsp;</p><p>"I am not the first one who has asked for something like this. A year since Deepika Padukone walked out of Sandeep Vanga Reddy's Spirit, the filmmaker's brother and producer Pranay Vanga has opened up about the controversy and claimed that the actress had asked for a 10 percent profit share.

The controversy around Deepika Padukone’s exit from Sandeep Reddy Vanga’s Spirit is far from over. Padukone had walked out of Vanga’s Spirit in 2025 after the makers failed to comply with her demands, which included, among others, an 8-hour workday. The move sparked an industry-wide debate and discussion about what the ideal number of hours is that one must work on a film set. A year since DP’s exit, the director’s brother Pranay Reddy Vanga has shared fresh details about her exit. While it was widely known that Deepika had demanded an eight-hour workday, Pranay has claimed that the actress also wanted a profit share. Pranay serves as the producer of Spirit. What did Pranay Reddy Vanga say about Deepika's exit from Spirit? In an interview with NTV, Pranay opened up about the decision to replace Deepika in the Prabhas-led film. He said the discussions involved several factors, including the actor's remuneration and working hours. "The reason is the same as what was already mentioned. One was remuneration; the second was timing. Apart from that, there are some other reasons too," Pranay revealed. According to Pranay, it was Sandeep Reddy Vanga who decided to move ahead without Deepika. He claimed that the filmmaker had been in conversations with the actress for approximately 18 months and wanted her to play a part in Spirit. Pranay also hinted that Deepika's recent box-office success had strengthened her position during negotiations. 'Deepika demanded 10 per cent of film's profit' Pranay also alleged that the discussions went beyond negotiations over acting fee. Once we started looking for other options, they started leaking everything." "We discussed the story and character with her. Things discussed internally should not be revealed, but she leaked all of them. That is why we are disturbed," he said. Pranay stated that according to his version of the events that transpired during the discussion, the disagreements were not over an additional Rs 5-6 crore as remuneration. What was the controversy surrounding Deepika Padukone and Sandeep Reddy Vanga? The actress was reportedly set to play the female lead in Sandeep Reddy Vanga’s Spirit opposite Prabhas. However, the actress chose to exit the film before the shooting began in 2025. Reports stated that her demand for an eight-hour workday shift was not met by the director. Triptii Dimri was subsequently announced as her replacement opposite Prabhas. The controversy intensified after discussion about the film's plot and an alleged 'A-Rated Action' element appeared online. Reacting to the alleged ‘leak’, Sandeep expressed displeasure on X without naming anyone. He claimed that details he had discussed with an actor in confidence had been disclosed publicly. "When I narrate a story to an actor, I place 100% faith. There is an unsaid NDA (Non-Disclosure Agreement) between us. But by doing this, You've 'DISCLOSED' the person that you are..." He further wrote, "Putting down a Younger actor and ousting my story? Is this what your feminism stands for? As a filmmaker, I put years of hard work behind my craft & for me, filmmaking is everything. You didn't get it. You won't get it. You will never get it." Sandeep concluded the post by writing, "Aisa karo.... Agli baar poori kahani bolna... kyunki mujhe jarra bhi farak nahi padtha (Next time, tell them the complete story because I don't really care.)" He also quoted the saying, "Khundak mein billi khamba noche." and used the hashtag "Dirty PR Games". All about the 8-hour work shit debate Deepika has previously spoken about the wider discussion around her working conditions, although she has not addressed every claim linked to her departure from Spirit. The actress spoke to CNBC-TV18 in 2025 about the controversy and said she had fought her battles silently. "I am someone who has always fought my battles silently, and for some strange reason, sometimes they become public-which is not the way I know and not the way I've been brought up. To fight my battles silently and in a dignified way is the way I know." In an earlier conversation with Brut India, Deepika defended her reported request for an eight-hour shift and said she did not consider it unreasonable. "I don't think what I am asking for is ridiculously unfair and I think only someone who has worked in the system enough will know the conditions that we work in. And I am saying this, if I may say so myself, a top star, so you can only imagine what the working conditions must be like for everyone else, for the crew, for example," she said. She also pointed out that similar working hours have been followed by male actors. "I am not the first one who has asked for something like this. In fact, there are a lot of actors, male actors, who have been working on an 8-hour shift for years, and it's never made headlines," she said. Spirit, directed by Sandeep Reddy Vanga and starring Prabhas and Triptii Dimri, is scheduled to release in March 2027. Meanwhile, Deepika will be next seen in SRK starrer King. She will also be part of Atlee’s Raaka, co-starring Allu Arjun.

After facing criticism for its sexual content and strong bloody violence, Yash's Toxic has been cleared by the CBFC without any cuts, paving the way for its August 28 theatrical release.

After courting controversy for weeks and intense online criticism over its highly sexual content and graphic violence, Yash’s much-awaited action thriller Toxic has cleared a major hurdle ahead of its theatrical release. The Geetu Mohandas directorial has been cleared by the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) without any cuts, paving the way for its big-screen debut on August 26. The decision has sparked buzz online, with netizens questioning the censor board, which had cut a kissing scene from the recently released Spider-Man: Brand New Day ahead of its release in India. Toxic clears CBFC certification without any cuts Ahead of its theatrical release, Toxic has cleared CBFC certification with an ‘A’ rating, citing intense violence and sexual content. The film has also been given a confirmed runtime of 3 hours and 12 minutes. Being billed as one of the boldest and most violent Indian films, the film has been passed by the Central Board of Film Certification with no cuts and only two small modifications. The makers have allegedly been asked to mute and replace two words and phrases in the Kannada version, with similar changes in the English subtitles. Additionally, the statutory anti-smoking and anti-drinking warning will be added.

<h3>What has Sharmila Tagore said on the controversy?</h3><p>Speaking to IANS, the veteran actress said that the entire song may not comply with the religious beliefs of many people, adding that it has ‘Vande Kali, Vande Durga’, which may be a problem for people of different religious beliefs.</p>

<p>She told IANS, “My point of view is that there are many religious people who believe in one single God, not many Gods. In ‘Vande Mataram’, there is a stanza which says that many Gods are mentioned in&nbsp;</p><p>‘Vande Mataram’”</p><p>&nbsp;</p><p>“It is difficult for those who believe in one religion to say, ‘Vande Kali, Vande Durga’. Reacting to this, BJP leader Nitin Nabin called Congress the ‘new Muslim League’.</p><p>&nbsp;</p><p>"The Congress has now formalised its insult into a resolution. Its working committee has decided that only the first two stanzas of 'Vande Mataram' will be sung at Congress forums. Today, that very insult has become the Congress's policy," Nabin posted on X.</p><p><br>AICC general secretary in charge of communication Jairam Ramesh also said that the BJP is making an issue out of nothing at the party headquarters Indira Bhavan in Delhi. “There is no controversy in this,” he said.</p><p>&nbsp;</p><p>They cited the Congress Working Committee (CWC)'s 1937 resolution under which, only the first two stanzas of the national song would be sung at Congress programmes.</p><p><br>"Our stand is very clear. The CWC resolution of 1937… Mahatma Gandhi, Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru, Rabindranath Tagore, Subhas Chandra Bose and Sardar Patel. We will abide by the decision taken by them. Our Congress workers will do that only – sing only the first two stanzas,” Venugopal said. “The national anthem (Jana Gana Mana) and Vande Mataram are emotional for the Congress, but it is political for the BJP. That is the difference between us and them,” he added.</p>

Sharmila shared her view after the row over the national song escalated between the political parties, Congress and BJP. Reacting to her comments, Kangana Ranaut said that she's shocked over her views.

<p>For those who have watched Netflix’s new military drama series Operation Safed Sagar must have noticed that each episode ends with a special note of gratitude to the late comedian Raju Srivastav. The critically acclaimed series has been created by his nephew, former Indian Air Force veteran Kushal Srivastava and pays tribute to Raju's pivotal role in inspiring Kushal’s filmmaking dream and opening doors in the industry. Did you notice how late comedian Raju Srivastav was mentioned at the end of each episode of Netflix's new drama Operation Safed Sagar? Turns out Srivastav played an integral part in inspiring his nephew and Operation Safed Sagar writer Kushal Srivastav's life.

For those who have watched Netflix’s new military drama series Operation Safed Sagar must have noticed that each episode ends with a special note of gratitude to the late comedian Raju Srivastav. The critically acclaimed series has been created by his nephew, former Indian Air Force veteran Kushal Srivastava and pays tribute to Raju's pivotal role in inspiring Kushal’s filmmaking dream and opening doors in the industry. Though Raju passed away in September 2022 before the show reached screens, his support, network, and family were integral to getting the project greenlit. How Raju Srivastava played a key role in Operation Safed Sagar Operation Safed Sagar, starring Jimmy Shergill and Siddharth, carries deep emotional value for its creators. The project was among the last works Raju Srivastav knew about before his passing in September 2022. Initially conceptualised as a film before being greenlit by Netflix as a series in May 2022, every episode concludes with a tribute thanking the comedy icon. From the Air Force to the director's chair Kushal Srivastava served in the Indian Air Force for seven years after joining in December 1999 following the Kargil War. However, his initial inspiration to enter filmmaking stemmed from childhood trips to Mumbai film sets with his uncle Raju. Recalling an early memory on the set of an N Chandra film, Kushal watched the director scold seasoned actors, “I don’t remember which film it was, but as soon as the scene ended, the director scolded everyone. ‘Johnny, what are you doing? Raju, you did it wrong.’ I was shocked that someone could scold stars like them. I asked my uncle who this man was." Hayden Panettiere died after a cardiac arrest at the age of 36 on Aug 16. It has been said that the actress was found dead at her home in Greenville, South Carolina, from an apparent overdose. Days after her death, director Griff Furst, who worked with the actress in one of her final films, said that she was “fighting to stay sober” during their time working together. Griff and Panettiere worked on the movie A Breed Apart, which was released last year in May. Now he has spoken out on her death, saying that he was rooting for the late star, who was battling addiction. Hayden Panettiere’s director talks about her addiction and more On Wednesday, Griff shared a video of himself talking about the actress' death and her battle with addiction as he recalled their time working together on a film. After A Breed Apart, Furst said that he stayed close to Panettiere’s team. When they considered an intervention for her, they asked him to be part of it. He said yes, but it never happened. Further, the director also mentioned how people are asking about her relationship with on-again and off-again boyfriend, Brian Hickerson. On this, Furst said,“All I know about that is what we observed and wrote down at the time that it happened, with her boyfriend Brian Hickerson.”

<p>Yash’s much-awaited <i>Toxic </i>is set to hit theatres on August 26 after months of facing several controversies and criticism online. As Geetu Mohandas’ action thriller nears its theatrical release, the film has received an adult rating in the UK. With a runtime of 3 hours and 14 minutes, <i>Toxic </i>has been classified for strong bloody violence and sexual content, adding another buzz ahead of its release.</p><h2>Yash’s Toxic receives adult rating in the UK</h2><p>According to the British Board of Film Classification (BBFC), Yash's upcoming thriller Toxic has been classified as an adult-rated film (18+). This was followed by threat and horror, language, drugs, sexual violence and sexual threat, and suicide and self-harm, each of which received four out of five.</p>

<p>For months, Rajpal Yadav has been at the centre of controversy after being linked to a Rs 9 crore cheque-bounce case, sparking intense discussion and criticism on social media. If I owe money to 100-200 people in the last 30-40 years, from the village to here, then it will reach their homes. It doesn't matter, because I know where it is. Amid backlash over a Rs 9 crore cheque bounce case, Rajpal Yadav recently came forward to hit back at trolls who are pointing fingers and diminishing his long-standing acting career. The actor explained that a legal case cannot overshadow years of contribution to the industry.

For months, Rajpal Yadav has been at the centre of controversy after being linked to a Rs 9 crore cheque-bounce case, sparking intense discussion and criticism on social media. As trolling and speculation surrounding the matter continue to grow, the actor has finally broken his silence, saying a legal dispute should not overshadow his decades-long contribution to Indian cinema and the reputation he has built over the years. Rajpal Yadav responds to online trolls While speaking to ANI, Rajpal Yadav addressed the criticism he has faced over his Rs 9 crore cheque-bounce case. Speaking about his acting career, the Bhooth Bangla star said, “I am dedicated to my career. I am an art student of Indian cinema. If I owe money to 100-200 people in the last 30-40 years, from the village to here, then it will reach their homes. It doesn't matter, because I know where it is. But I would like to say that when the fund is in trouble, how can they bet on the artist's entire biodata?” Also Read: Rajpal Yadav gets 3 months in jail in Rs 9 crore cheque bounce case He further explained his situation, saying, “Rajpal Yadav, whether in trouble or in good times, gets 500 selfies clicked at every airport. Rajpal is such a responsible actor. No one can buy me for 5 crore, 10 crore, 100 crore, or 250 crore because I have been sold in the name of art since childhood. No one can buy me for money. Believe me on this,” Yadav said. He further continued, “If cheques are in circulation, it means agreements were made. That itself is proof of honesty, whether for guarantee or security. Money doesn't belong to one kitchen alone; the kitchens of 140 crore people in this country depend on circulating money.” Also Read: Rajpal Yadav joins Salman Khan, Vamshi Paidipally's upcoming action film: Report The actor’s remarks come after his conviction in multiple cheque-bounce cases attracted significant attention.
