On Wednesday, Hollywood actress Shannen Doherty revealed that her breast cancer had spread to her brain. Doherty, who is known for her roles in "Beverly Hills, 90210" and ''Charmed'', shared the news via her Instagram handle.

Shannen has been receiving treatment for cancer for several years now, and on Wednesday, the "Beverly Hills, 90210" star shared a video of herself going through a radiation process.

The actress wrote in the caption, ''January 12, 2023. On January 5th, my ct scan showed Mets in my brain. Yesterday's video was showing the process of getting fitted for the mask which you wear during radiation to your brain.''

The caption further reads, ''January 12, the first round of radiation took place. My fear is obvious. I am extremely claustrophobic and
there was a lot going on in my life. I am fortunate as I have great doctors like Dr Amin Mirahdi and the amazing techs at cedar sinai. But that fear…. The turmoil….. the timing of it all…. This is what cancer can look like.''

Soon after Shannan shared a video showing her tearful as she went through the process, Doherty's friends and fans were quick to share their support for her.

Actor and friend Selma Blair wrote, “This is a lot to take on, still again,” she added further, “And I am wishing for all the wise peace you have learned to find you in the terror moments. To know we are holding you. Love. All love.”

''You are amazing Shannon. Keep up the good fight. You are so strong 🙏🏼❤️🙏🏼❤️🙏🏼❤️.'' another wrote.

Shahnon's cancer diagnosis

The actress was first diagnosed with breast cancer in 2015, underwent a mastectomy, and received chemotherapy. Two years later, her cancer went into remission. However, in 2020, Doherty shared that her cancer had returned and had reached stage 4.

Talking about her diagnosis, she said in a 2020 interview on Good Morning America, "It’s a bitter pill to swallow in a lot of ways.''
"I definitely have days where I say, ‘Why me?’ And then I go, ‘Well, why not me? Who else? Who else besides me deserves this? None of us do. People with stage four can work too. Like, you know, our life doesn’t end the minute we get that diagnosis. We still have some living to do."

Doherty has been part of shows like Beverly Hills, 90210, Mallrats, and several television movies and shows. In 2019, she appeared in a brief reboot of the original 90210 called BH90210.
