As fans wait for Marvel’s ‘Captain Marvel’ to hit the screens in March, advance screenings of the film show that not actress Brie Larson (who plays the superhero) but her cat Goose in the film steals the show. Watch trailer.

We knew the cat had an important role to play when Marvel released several posters of different characters in the film and one of them was of Goose.

Apparently, as the advance screenings of the film were played, all people could talk about was of Goose and not Carol Danver aka Captain Marvel.

For the uninitiated, Goose is inspired by Chewie the cat, Captain Marvel’s pet in the comics. There is also a possibility that Goose is a Flerken, an alien race, as Chewie is in the comic book series.

The story of ‘Captain Marvel’ is set in the 1990s and it charts Carol Danvers' journey as she rises to become the universe's ultimate powerful superhero. The character first appeared in the comic books in the year 1967.

‘Captain Marvel’ also stars Jude Law, and is directed by Anna Boden and Ryan Fleck.

It is produced by Marvel Studios and is slated to release on March 8.
