<p>Elon Musk’s idea of a post-work society, mentioned most recently in his podcast with Nikhil Kamath, is raising both curiosity and eyebrows. <p><br>Every individual seeks a life of purpose, meaning and success. Yet the road to success is never shaped by hard work and talent alone. Building a life of consequence demands the ability to manage stress while keeping your hunger alive, especially when life presents a mountain of challenges.</p><p>The life of Dr Subhash Chandra, the media pioneer who founded Zee TV and built the Essel Group, is a testament that mastering stress can turn an ordinary individual into an extraordinary leader. Today, he is recognised globally as a successful businessman, but his journey has been marred by lots of setbacks, including debt, criticism, political pressure, and financial crises. But what remains constant amidst all these challenges is his ability to take on every crisis with a calm mind and a positive attitude.</p><p>&nbsp;</p><p>Here are Dr Subhash Chandra’s ‘Billionaire Brain Hacks’, which offer guidance on staying balanced, calm, and focused even under pressure.</p><h2>1. Understand emotions</h2><p>Dr Chandra has often said Do not run away from emotions, try to understand the meaning of a certain feeling. &nbsp; He added that people who fail to understand emotions remain vulnerable in decision-making.</p><p>&nbsp;</p><p>Early in his career, every failure would leave him emotionally shaken. Over time, he learnt to read, understand, and channel his emotions in a positive direction. He believes that once you recognise your emotions clearly, they become a source of strength rather than weakness.</p><h2>2. Be solution-oriented</h2><p>Dr Chandra has faced crises that many would consider career-ending. His approach to problems is simple but powerful: no matter how big the challenge, break it into smaller parts. Write down one solution for each part and tackle the easiest one first. He says this method reduces pressure and restores clarity.</p><p>&nbsp;</p><p><strong>Also Read: </strong><a href="https://www.wionews.com/photos/dr-subhash-chandra-at-75-7-inspiring-quotes-from-the-visionary-media-czar-1764504915329/1764504915330"><strong>Dr. Subhash Chandra at 75: 7 inspiring quotes from the visionary media czar</strong></a></p><h2>3. Be a lifelong student</h2><p>In a fast-changing world, updating oneself is essential, Dr Chandra often says, “If you stop learning, you have stopped living.” This philosophy led him to find a new direction even during crises. Learning new skills and new perspectives keeps the mind active and naturally reduces stress.</p><h2>4. Practice spirituality</h2><p>Spirituality and meditation play a central role in Dr Chandra’s life. He has repeatedly said that big decisions require a calm mind that can be achieved through these practices. Despite facing debt, criticism, political pressure, and major financial crises, Dr Chandra’s journey stands out for one reason: his remarkable ability to stay calm and approach every challenge with a constructive, positive mindset.

Every individual seeks a life of purpose, meaning and success. Yet the road to success is never shaped by hard work and talent alone. Building a life of consequence demands the ability to manage stress while keeping your hunger alive, especially when life presents a mountain of challenges. The life of Dr Subhash Chandra, the media pioneer who founded Zee TV and built the Essel Group, is a testament that mastering stress can turn an ordinary individual into an extraordinary leader. Today, he is recognised globally as a successful businessman, but his journey has been marred by lots of setbacks, including debt, criticism, political pressure, and financial crises. But what remains constant amidst all these challenges is his ability to take on every crisis with a calm mind and a positive attitude. Here are Dr Subhash Chandra’s ‘Billionaire Brain Hacks’, which offer guidance on staying balanced, calm, and focused even under pressure. 1. Understand emotions Dr Chandra has often said Do not run away from emotions, try to understand the meaning of a certain feeling. He added that people who fail to understand emotions remain vulnerable in decision-making. Early in his career, every failure would leave him emotionally shaken. Over time, he learnt to read, understand, and channel his emotions in a positive direction. He believes that once you recognise your emotions clearly, they become a source of strength rather than weakness. 2. Be solution-oriented Dr Chandra has faced crises that many would consider career-ending. His approach to problems is simple but powerful: no matter how big the challenge, break it into smaller parts. Write down one solution for each part and tackle the easiest one first. He says this method reduces pressure and restores clarity. Be a lifelong student In a fast-changing world, updating oneself is essential, Dr Chandra often says, “If you stop learning, you have stopped living.” This philosophy led him to find a new direction even during crises. Learning new skills and new perspectives keeps the mind active and naturally reduces stress. 4. Practice spirituality Spirituality and meditation play a central role in Dr Chandra’s life. He has repeatedly said that big decisions require a calm mind that can be achieved through these practices. He recommends meditating for 10 to 15 minutes every morning and practising deep breathing before sleep. 5. Failures are opportunities in disguise One of Dr Chandra’s strongest traits is his ability to treat failure not as an end but as a new beginning. When several of his projects failed, he avoided self-blame and instead extracted lessons that fuelled his next ideas. The European Union Film Festival is celebrating its 30th edition by focusing on bridging cultures through cinema.

This year, the European Union Film Festival is celebrating its 30th edition, a milestone that marks decades of cinematic exchange between Europe and India. The festival, which kicked off in Delhi and then moved to Hyderabad, showcases a diverse lineup of movies, giving audiences a glimpse into Europe's people, culture, and more. Films are a great way to learn about a culture, and the EUFF is doing just that. As the EUFF continues to foster relationships between India and Europe, bringing together diverse voices and fresh narratives, with the best medium, cinema. In an exclusive conversation with WION, Herve Delphin, the Ambassador of the European Union to India, talks about the EUFF's evolving journey, its impact on cultural dialogue, and the expanding horizons of India-Europe creative partnerships. Read the excerpts from the chat here: WION: This year marks the 30th edition of the European Union Film Festival. How do you see the festival’s journey evolving over these three decades? Hervé Delphin: When the festival started, there was no clear intention of cultural diplomacy. The idea was simply to offer the Indian public the possibility to watch quality European movies, especially because 30 years ago there were very few opportunities to see independent European films in India. Over the years, the EUFF has grown into a space where film producers, directors, scriptwriters, and actors come together. It has become a place of conversation, exchange, and even potential collaboration. So yes, it has created its own dynamic that can now be seen as cultural diplomacy, but it wasn’t planned that way; it evolved organically and was shaped by professionals, not by any political agenda. WION: What does this milestone mean for the EU–India cultural partnership? Hervé Delphin: The festival’s organic growth, from simply showing films to becoming a platform for creative exchange, reflects how cultural partnership has strengthened naturally. It has been embraced by professionals on both sides, which gives the partnership authenticity and depth. WION: How do you see the next 30 years of the EU–India relationship in the field of arts and culture? Hervé Delphin: Looking at the 30-year journey, the ambassador said that the biggest mistake would be to set limits. The approach should remain open-minded. India cannot be reduced to one language, one city, or one approach, and EUFF should reflect India’s diversity just as it represents Europe’s diversity. Expanding reach and staying open to new formats is the way forward. WION: In what ways has EUFF helped strengthen the cultural bridge between Europe and India? Hervé Delphin: The EUFF has created opportunities for filmmakers and audiences to learn about European filmmaking traditions, stories, and experiences. Since Europe and India both have strong film industries, the festival’s conversations and exchanges can eventually lead to co-productions. Thus, EUFF helps strengthen cultural connections and can even contribute to boosting both industries economically

This year's Miss Universe contest concluded last week in Thailand with a win for Miss Mexico after a pageant replete with drama, including a public bust-up between the eventual winner and the competition host.

The Miss Universe beauty pageant was hit by fresh scandal days after it ended, with the Mexican co-owner of the contest accused of trafficking drugs and arms and his Thai counterpart accused of fraud. This year's Miss Universe contest concluded last week in Thailand with a win for Miss Mexico after a pageant replete with drama, including a public bust-up between the eventual winner and the competition host. A Thai court official told AFP on Wednesday that an arrest warrant had been issued the day before for the media mogul co-owner of the contest, Anne Jakapong Jakrajutatip, for alleged fraud worth $930,000. A plastic surgeon accused Jakapong of fraud and concealing information when persuading him to invest in her JKN Global Group, which co-owns the contest. Also Wednesday, the federal prosecutor's office in Mexico said the other co-owner of the pageant, Mexican businessman Raul Rocha Cantu, was under investigation for arms, drug, and fuel trafficking. "Key information is being obtained that will allow the federal public prosecutor's office to continue and delve deeper into this investigation," the agency said in a statement. The agency added that arrest warrants had been issued for 13 defendants but did not identify them. Mexican media reported that Rocha was among those sought by police. Local media have also accused him of alleged business dealings with the father of the newly-crowned Miss Universe, Fatima Bosch. Bosch's father, Bernando Bosch, a senior executive at state-owned oil company Pemex, denied any connection to Rocha. Bosch won widespread acclaim after leading a dramatic walkout from a meeting between the contestants and the pageant's Thai director, Nawat Itsaragrisil. Nawat was filmed singling her out over her apparent failure to post promotional content on her social media accounts, calling her a "dumbhead." Bosch won praise for standing up to Nawat, including from her country's first woman president, Claudia Sheinbaum. On Tuesday, the 25-year-old beauty queen said she had received "insults, attacks, and even death threats" over the allegations of her father's links to the contest. The Miss Universe contest was formerly owned by US President Donald Trump. Jakapong's JKN Global Group bought it for $20 million in 2022, but later sold half its stake to Rocha Cantu's Legacy Holding Group USA for $16 million.

Happy Thanksgiving Day 2025: 50+ Wishes, quotes, messages, images and WhatsApp status to celebrate with loved ones

<p>Miss Universe 2025 will go down as the most controversial year in the pageant’s history. A day after Olivia Yace resigned from her title of Miss Côte d'Ivoire, head of the Miss Universe organisation Raul Rocha responded to questions on how the winner of the 2025 pageant was selected. The Miss Universe 2025 finale took place on November 21, and Miss Mexico was announced as the winner. Olivia was among the top 5 finalists.&nbsp;</p><p>&nbsp;</p><p>In a livestream — which has been reposted by several pageantry social media pages — Rocha discussed why he believed Miss Côte d'Ivoire was not crowned winner on stage in Bangkok last week after she placed in the top five.</p><p>&nbsp;</p><p>Olivia, many felt, was among the top contenders for this year’s winning title. Miss Mexico’s win came as a surprise for many on the internet who were following the contest closely for the past month.&nbsp;</p>

<p>The Miss Universe executive spoke in Spanish as he noted that "there are many things that are evaluated" by the pageant selection committee. He then pointed out how citizens of Côte d'Ivoire require visas to enter 175 countries.</p><p>&nbsp;</p><p>"She's going to be the Miss Universe who spent a whole year in an apartment because of the cost of the visa process with lawyers," Rocha said during the interview, as translated into English. "Some of them require six months' notice. The year's already gone, right?"</p><p>&nbsp;</p><p>Rocha also pointed out that a Miss Universe titleholder is someone who travels the most and “has the most contact with people in the world." He added, "If they require a visa in 175 countries, it's kind of difficult, no?"</p><p>&nbsp;</p><h2>Rocha’s comments criticised by Miss Universe contestant</h2><p>Soon after Rocha’s video went viral on social media, Olivia’s fellow contestant Ophély Mézino — who represented Guadeloupe and placed in the top 12 at Miss Universe 2025 — seemingly responded to the head's visa comments on her Instagram Stories.</p><p>&nbsp;</p><p>"Did you steal the money of my Afro-Caribbean girls? Did you let them compete knowing they would never win this competition? Did you let them participate just to speak about diversity and inclusion?" Mézino wrote. "Do you even read our biographies when we submit all the visa information?"</p><p>&nbsp;</p><p>Ophély also pointed out that she herself has a French passport in addition to her Guadeloupean one.</p><p>&nbsp;</p><p>She continued, "My heart is burning, I don't like injustice ... Are you trying to find a racist excuse for the fact that you didn't choose someone who was highly qualified for this job?"</p><p>&nbsp;</p><p>The beauty queen also stated that while the organisation boasted this year of hosting the "highest number of countries that have never participated in Miss Universe”, the head was discriminating with his stance on visas.</p><p>&nbsp;</p><p>"You steal the money of small territories. You steal the hope of millions of people who don't understand why they are not in the Top 30/12/5," she wrote on her Instagram Stories. "This is the worst excuse I have ever heard."</p><p>&nbsp;</p><p>"I have followed pageantry for a decade now," Ophély concluded. "This is an humiliation, a lack of respect for the contestants, the families, the representatives who put so much energy into your brand. How can you disrespect those countries like that?"</p><p>&nbsp;</p><h2>Olivia Yace renounces her title</h2><p>&nbsp;</p><p>Earlier on Monday, Olivia Yace distanced herself from the Miss Universe Organization days after she placed as the fourth runner-up in Thailand.</p><p>Yacé announced her resignation from her role as Miss Universe Africa and Oceania with an Instagram statement.</p><p>&nbsp;</p><p>“I encourage them to push their limits, to walk confidently into rooms where they believe they do not belong, and to proudly embrace their identity,” wrote Olivia, adding that her commitment to this goal is the reason she has decided to resign.</p><p>&nbsp;</p><p>“Stepping away from this diminished role of Miss Universe Africa and Oceania will allow me to dedicate myself fully to defending the values I hold dear,” the pageant queen said. “I call upon Black, African, Caribbean, American, and Afro-descendant communities: continue entering spaces where you are not expected. Let us open the way for the brothers and sisters who will follow us. Never let anyone define who we are or limit our potential. Our presence matters, and our voices must be heard.”</p><p>&nbsp;</p><p>She also clarified that her resignation includes “any future affiliation with the Miss Universe Committee.”</p>

Miss Universe head Raul Rocha responded to speculations on why Olivia Yace, a crowd favourite at this year's pageant, was not chosen as the winner. Olivia renounced her Miss Universe Africa and Oceania title days after the pageant finale.

Miss Universe 2025 will go down as the most controversial year in the pageant’s history. Olivia was among the top 5 finalists. In a livestream — which has been reposted by several pageantry social media pages — Rocha discussed why he believed Miss Côte d'Ivoire was not crowned winner on stage in Bangkok last week after she placed in the top five. Olivia, many felt, was among the top contenders for this year’s winning title. Miss Mexico’s win came as a surprise for many on the internet who were following the contest closely for the past month.

<p><h2>What happened at Miss Universe 2025</h2><p>The 74th edition of the Miss Universe beauty pageant was plagued by controversies right from the beginning. Earlier, Miss Mexico, Fatima Bosch, had walked from a meeting after facing humiliation from pageant director Nawat Itsaragrisl. He called her a ‘dumbhead’, which prompted many other contestants to walk out in solidarity to Miss Mexico. The incident received huge backlash online, leading to Nawat's very teary public apology. After the result's announcement, netizens expressed disappointment over Fátima Bosch being declared the winner, debating that her final answer was weaker than others, and some contestants were more deserving of the crown.</p><p> </p><p>One of the judges, Natalie Glebova, a former Miss Universe 2005 titleholder, announced on Instagram that, in her opinion, the first runner-up was the true winner, and she also criticised the lack of transparency in the judging process.</p><p> </p><p>Another judge, Omar Harfouch, a Lebanese-French composer, resigned three days before the final, claiming that a ‘secret committee’ had already selected the top 30 finalists. Later, Miss Universe President Raul Rocha, responded to the rigging allegation and revealed that Omar Harfouch had actually been removed from the Miss Universe 2025 judging panel.</p><p> </p></p>

Miss Universe drama continues: Now Olivia Yace, Miss Universe Africa and Oceania, resigns from her title Controversies refuse to leave the Miss Universe pageant. Days after Miss Mexico was crowned Miss Universe 2025, Olivia Yace, who represented Côte d’Ivoire at the beauty pageant, has announced her resignation from her title of Miss Universe Africa and Oceania. Olivia Yace was among the top five contestants at the recently concluded pageant. Miss Universe Africa and Oceania resigns In a heartfelt statement shared on Instagram, the popular beauty queen said she was stepping down to remain true to her values and to continue inspiring young women, especially across the African and Afro-descendant communities. She also expressed to dissociate herself from the Miss Universe committee. Here's what Olivia wrote on Instagram “As the representative of Côte d’Ivoire at the Miss Universe 2025 competition in Bangkok, I witnessed firsthand that I was capable of reaching great things despite adversity. To continue on this path, I must remain true to my values: respect, dignity, excellence, and equal opportunity the strongest pillars that guide me. With a heart full of gratitude and profound respect, I hereby announce my resignation from the title of Miss Universe Africa and Oceania, as well as from any future affiliation with the Miss Universe Committee. Throughout my journey as an ambassador and beauty queen, I have served with commitment, resilience, discipline, and determination. However, to fully reach my potential, I must remain firmly anchored in my values guiding principles that pave the way toward excellence. As I stand on stage, my greatest wish is to be a role model for the new generation, especially young girls. I encourage them to push their limits, to walk confidently into rooms where they believe they do not belong, and to proudly embrace their identity. It is this commitment to being a positive influence that guides my decision today. Stepping away from this diminished role of Miss Universe Africa and Oceania will allow me to dedicate myself fully to defending the values I hold dear. I call upon Black, African, Caribbean, American, and Afro-descendent communities: continue entering spaces where you are not expected. Let us open the way for the others and sisters who will follow us. Never let anyone define who we are or limit our potential. Our presence matters, and our voices must be heard. I would also like to extend my congratulations to the new Miss Universe. I also wish Miss Universe Jamaica a swift recovery and send her all my affection. I am deeply grateful for the support I have received and for the unforgettable experiences that have shaped me. I will now continue my journey differently, with the same determination to uplift and inspire. Thank you to all those who have been part of this exceptional adventure. Let us continue to defend our values and strive for greatness together. IT’S TIME FOR AFRICA. With love and respect, OLIVIA MANUELA YACÉ”

Mexican artist Frida Kahlo's self portrait has sold for a record breaking $54.7 mn, making it the highest amount billed for the work of a female artist. Kahlo's artwork dates back to 1940.

A self-portrait by celebrated Mexican artist Frida Kahlo sold for $54.66 million in New York on Thursday, setting a record for the price of a painting by a woman, the auction house Sotheby's said. The sale of Kahlo's 1940 artwork, titled "El sueno (La cama)" -- which translates to "The dream (The bed)" -- broke the previous record set by American artist Georgia O'Keeffe, whose 1932 painting "Jimson Weed/White Flower No. 1" sold for $44.4 million in 2014. Kahlo's painting is "the most valuable work by a woman artist ever sold at auction," Sotheby's said in a post on social media platform X. The artwork depicts Kahlo sleeping in a bed that appears to float through the sky, beneath a skeleton with its legs wrapped in sticks of dynamite. The work was painted during a pivotal decade in Kahlo's career, marked by her turbulent relationship with Mexican painter Diego Rivera, the auction house said on X. The painting went on the auction block with an estimated price range of $40 million to $60 million. The buyer's name was not disclosed. The work is a "very personal" painting, in which Kahlo "merges folkloric motifs from Mexican culture with European surrealism," Anna Di Stasi, the head of Latin American art at Sotheby's, told AFP. The Mexican artist, who died in 1954 at the age of 47, "did not completely agree" with her work being associated with the surrealist movement, Di Stasi said. However, "given this magnificent iconography, it seems entirely appropriate to include it," she said. Kahlo struggled with fragile health throughout her life due to childhood illness, polio and a serious bus accident in 1925, and pain and death were central to her work. The skeleton depicted in the painting echoed the papier-mache version that hung above Kahlo's bed, according to Sotheby's. -Women under-represented- None of the 162 pieces of art that had previously sold for more than $50 million were by women, according to an AFP tally. Less than one percent of the 468 works sold for more than $30 million are by women artists. The record-setting sale of Kahlo's self-portrait came two nights after Sotheby's made another record sale, with a painting by Austrian artist Gustav Klimt fetching $236.4 million -- the second-most expensive artwork ever sold at auction. Klimt's "Portrait of Elisabeth Lederer," which he painted between 1914 and 1916, depicts the daughter of his main patron standing in front of a blue tapestry. The most expensive painting ever sold at auction remains the "Salvator Mundi," (Savior of the World), a Renaissance work attributed to Leonardo da Vinci, which was bought for $450 million in 2017. Female artists whose works have fetched the highest sale prices are primarily prominent 20th century figures. The third-highest sale price, after O'Keeffe's White Flower No. 1," was for a huge spider sculpture by French visual artist Louise Bourgeois, which sold for $32.5 million in 2023. Kahlo's self-portrait "Diego y yo" ("Diego and I", 1949) fetched $34.9 million in 2021 and "Portrait of Marjorie Ferry" (1932) by the Polish painter Tamara de Lempicka was sold for $21.2 million in 2020.
