
Shahid Kapoor is on a roll as the actor delivered his first solo Rs 100 crore hit with ‘Kabir Singh’ that released last Friday.
‘Kabir Singh’ has trashed all industry reports that did not see it coming for the film. Most astonishingly, the film continues to do well inspite of critics bashing the film for being misogynistic. Read our review here.
According to trade analyst Taran Adarsh, the film made Rs 16.5 crore on Tuesday, taking the total to Rs 104 crore. He wrote, “The overwhelming success of Kabir Singh has left the industry shocked and stunned. All calculations have gone for a toss.”

Taran then also shared a comparison of previous releases that made it to the Rs 100 crore club this year. In the list, Kabir Singh comes at second spot as Salman Khan’s ‘Bharat’ achieved this rank in just 4 days while ‘Kabir Singh took 5 days. The others that made it to this list are Akshay Kumar’s ‘Kesari’ (7 days), Ranveer Singh’s ‘Gully Boy’ (8 days) and the ensemble comedy ‘Total Dhamaal’ (9 days).
Kabir Singh earned Rs 20 crore on Friday, Rs 22 crore on Saturday and Rs 27.7 crore on Sunday. This despite it being a non-holiday release and the ticket prices being average.
