Lady Gaga is paying tribute to her musical muse Tony Bennett. On the first death anniversary of the legendary singer, Gaga shared a heartfelt note remembering her late friend.
The legendary singer passed away on July 21, 2023, at the age of 96. The crooner and Gaga collaborated in the last years of his career.
On Tony's first death anniversary, the''Chromatica'' singer cherished her memories with the icon. Sharing a monochrome photo with the legendary singer, she wrote in the caption, ''It’s been one year since Tony passed away. This picture says it all. I’m so grateful for my continued friendship with his wife Susan—the legacy of jazz music he left—and for the community of jazz musicians I still work with who all knew and loved Tony. We’re gonna keep on swingin’. Miss you 🖤life is a beautiful thing 💋.''
The picture was from the time when Tony drew a portrait of Gaga on a notebook for the cover of their 2021 album Love For Sale. In the monochrome photo, Gaga is visibly emotional as Bennett drawsher portrait.
In a video released in 2021, Gaga couldn't hold her tears back after the rockstar showed his sketch to her.

In 2011, Gaga and Bennett collaborated for the first time on the song "The Lady Is a Tramp" for his album Duets II. They collaborated for the second time for the album Cheek to Cheek.
In 2021, the Grammy Award-winning singer set a Guinness World Record for being the oldest person to release an album of new material. He made the record for his album “Love for Sale,” a collaboration with Gaga. At the time of the release, Bennett was 95 years and 60 days old.
