Disgraced movie mogul Harvey Weinstein is not keeping well. His health has again taken a sharp decline as he was hospitalisedafter being diagnosed with double pneumonia and positive for COVID-19. Alerting the media, his representatives said that Harvey is currently dealing with a "myriad of health conditions" and hence needs medical attention.
The 72-year-old has been transferred to Bellevue Hospital Prison Ward in Manhattan. His representative said, Harvey is being "treated for the myriad of health conditions that he is still afflicted with on a daily basis such as diabetes, high blood pressure, spinal stenosis, fluid on his heart and lungs, and various other conditions.”
He added, "In addition, Mr. Weinstein tested positive for COVID and contracted double pneumonia in his lungs.”
Harvey Weinstein is currently awaiting retrial in Manhattan on sex crime charges after his conviction was overturned on appeal in April. He is tentatively set to be retried in November.
He awaits retrial after prosecutors claim that the disgraced movie mogul had raped more women than included in his previous prosecution. But, Harvey has denied all allegations of sexual misconduct.
Harvey is also fighting a separate rape conviction charge in Los Angeles. His defence claims that he lacked a fair trial and that he should be tried again. In the same casehe was sentenced to 16 years in prison
