Ellen DeGeneres to return with Netflix special one last time

Ellen DeGeneres promises to address all the elephants in the room as she is set to return to Netflix for her final stand-up special. This will come six years after her last comedy hour, Relatable. The Netflix special is her second stint with the streamer.
Ellen to return with Netflix special
The special is scheduled to arrive later in 2024. In a statement, Ellen said, “To answer the questions everyone is asking me – Yes, I’m going to talk about it. Yes, this is my last special. Yes, Portia really is that pretty in real life.” The comedian and talk show host referred to theEllen DeGeneres showcontroversy that erupted after multiple former colleagues accused her of a toxic workplace and of harassingher employees. This led to her shuttering the show.
The accusations led to an internal investigation from WarnerMedia and Ellen took responsibility for the workplace culture. She apologised to everyone who was involved in the production. Three executives from the show were ultimately fired.
Meanwhile, the new Netflix special will be produced by Ben Winston and Fulwell73.

In addition to the Netflix special that has just been announced, Ellen DeGeneres will also kick offa multi-city stand-up tour on June 19 in San Diego.
Her most successful TV stint,The Ellen DeGeneres Show ran for 19 seasons where she hostedthe whos-who of the celebrity and entertainment space. The show was a cult hit and won 63 Daytime Emmys in total. Before that, she broke out as the star of Ellen, an ABC sitcom in which she came out as gay in public for the first time. She’s also hosted Oscars, Emmys and Grammys on several occasions.
