Celebrated TV host Seth Meyers has renewed his contract with NBCUniversal as the host of Late Night through 2028. This comes after the comedian celebrated 10 year-anniversary as the host of Late Night With Seth Meyers. It debuted on TV in February 2014.
In addition to the host, his production company, Sethmaker Shoemeyers, has also extended its deal with Universal Studio Group to produce content across NBCUniversal platforms.
Late Night With Seth Meyers is executive produced by Lorne Michaels, with Mike Shoemaker as producer. On their renewed association, Katie Hockmeyer, executive vice president of late-night programming at NBCUniversal Entertainment said, “Over the last 10 years, Seth has resonated with his audience night after night with a sharp monologue and established segments such as ‘A Closer Look’ and ‘Day Drinking’. We’re so happy to continue this legacy franchise with Seth at the helm and watch him continue to elevate the success of ‘Late Night.’”
Throughout its run, Late Night With Seth Meyers has earned two Critics Choice Awards, seven Writers Guild of America Award nominations and 11 Emmy nominations.
Before Seth Meyers started his stint with Late Night, he was best known for his tenure on Saturday Night Live where he was a cast member from the years 2001 until 2014. His other prominent works include keynoting the 2011 White House Correspondents’ Dinner, hosting the Emmys in 2014 and the Golden Globes in 2018, and producing the films Hot Rod and MacGruber. In 2018, he returned to Saturday Night Live to host an episode.
