Say your goodbyes to the Witcher, Geralt of Rivia as makers reveal that the fifth will be the final season of the hit show. The saga of Geralt will come to an end with the final season as the streamer is currently filming both seasons four and five simultaneously.

The show was last in news when Henry Cavill stepped down from the role and it was taken up by Liam Hemsworth. There was a huge hue and cry around it as most fans of the show were upset with the change.

The Witcher streams on Netflix

The Witcher premiered on Netflix with huge numbers and has been one of the most-watched shows at the time of its release. The streamer noted that for both seasons four and five, Liam will play Geralt. The production of the same has begun.

Announcing the news, showrunner Lauren Schmidt Hissrich said, “It is with huge pride that we begin shooting our penultimate season of The Witcher with a stellar cast, including some exciting new additions, led by Liam Hemsworth as Geralt of Rivia.”

The story of last two seasons of The Witcher

Lauren added, “We’re thrilled to be able to bring Andrzej Sapkowski’s books to an epic and satisfying conclusion. It wouldn’t be our show if we didn’t push our family of characters to their absolute limit — stay tuned to see how the story ends.”

The fourth and fifth seasons will adapt the last three books in Sapkowski’s series: Baptism of Fire, The Tower of the Swallow and Lady of the Lake. The fourth season will follow Geralt, Yennefer (Anya Chalotra) and Ciri (Freya Allan), who have split apart after the events of season three and must lead the groups of misfits in which they find themselves in order to have a chance of finding each other again.
