The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences has scheduled the 99th Oscars for March 14, 2027, and the 100th Oscars for March 5, 2028. Both ceremonies will air live on ABC before the broadcast moves to YouTube.

The Academy Awards have revealed their plans for the next two years. Just weeks after wrapping up the 98th edition, the Oscars have announced the dates for the 99th and 100th year ceremonies.

The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences has scheduled the 99th Oscars for March 14, 2027, and the 100th Oscars for March 5, 2028. Both ceremonies will air live on ABC before the broadcast moves to YouTube.

The annual Governors Awards event will be held on November 15. Nominations for the 2027 Oscars ceremony will be announced on Jan. 21, 2027.

Academy's new home from 2029

For the next two years, the ceremony is scheduled to take place in March. Both events will air live on ABC from 7 pm from the Dolby Theatre at Ovation Hollywood. After the 100th edition of the ceremony in 2028, the Oscars will be held at a new venue, the Peacock Theatre.

Leaving the iconic Dolby Theatre, which has been home to the Oscars for years, the award night will step out in 2029. Surrounded by the iconic Hollywood Walk of Fame, the Oscars have been hosted at the Dolby Theatre since 2002.

Leaving Hollywood Boulevard, the Academy Awards will move to the Peacock Theatre, a venue that also hosts events like the Emmy and Grammy Awards. The reason for the shift is quite clear, to give viewers and attendees a new and grand experience.

The year 2029 will bring many changes, from shifting the venue to being aired on YouTube.

Oscars 2026: A decline in viewership.

Talking about the 2026 Oscars, this year's big winner was Paul Thomas Anderson's One Battle After Another, which won the best picture. Ryan Coogler's Sunners was also one of the big winners of the night, with Michael B. Jordan won Best Actor trophy. With 17.86 million viewers across ABC and Hulu, this year's ceremony saw a 9% dip from last year’s ceremony.
