Kill Box Office: Lakshya’s film witnesses slight growth, earns Rs 3.5 crore

Lakshya and Raghav Juyal-starrer Kill has garnered a lot of appreciation from critics, who have hailed director Nikhil Nagesh Bhat’s one-of-a-kind action film ever made in Indian cinema.Despite rave reviews, the movie got a lukewarmstart at the box office.
Co-produced by Karan Johar and Guneet Monga, the movie was released at a time when Prabhasand Deepika Padukone's Kalki 2898 AD, was dominating the box office.

The movie is facing tough competition from Nag Ashwin's sci-fi thriller Kalki 2898 AD. Released on June 27, the movie is earning staggering numbers at the box office. In two weeks, the film has touched Rs 800 crore mark at the box office globally.
The Hindi version of the movie is set to cross Rs 200 crore at the box office on Sunday (July 7).
Taran Adarsh wrote, ''#Kalki2898AD will triumphantly gallop into ₹ 200 cr Club TODAY [second Sun; Day 11]… From metros to mass pockets, it witnessed significant gains [+79.49%] across the board on [second] Sat… The growth on Sat clearly indicates that the numbers on Sun will be massive. Hailed worldwide as a spectacular action thriller, the movie has been released in India after earning outstanding responses from international film festivals, including TIFF (Toronto International Film Festival). The movie has garnered a 90% fresh rating on Rotten Tomatoes.
Kill Review
WION's film critic Shomini Sen gave a positive review of the movie. Sen wrote, ''I must admit that I am not a fan of action films and I usually avoid this genre. Yet, I found myself glued to the screen while watching Kill. I knew how the story would pan out, yet the screenplay was so effective that I was hooked right from the beginning. It comes months after the release of Animal which too was a very violent film. But compared to Animal, which lost its plot post-interval, Kill picks up pace in the second half and twists the narrative - blurring the line between hero and anti-hero.'' Read the full review here.
