What sort of cricket do you play?: Former cricketer slams Bangladesh for no show in 1st T20I vs India

On Sunday (Oct 6), Suryakumar Yadav-led India demolished Bangladesh by seven wickets in a chase of 128 to win the first T20I, of the three-match series, with ease in Gwalior. Asked to bat first, Najmul Shanto-led Bangla Tigers were bundled out for 127 in 19.5 overs with comeback man Varun Chakravarthy shining with the ball, returning with 3 for 31 whereas Arshdeep Singh also chipped in with 3 for 14. In reply, India rode on quickfire 29 apiece from Sanju Samson and skipper Surya before all-rounder Hardik Pandya ended proceedings in a flash, courtesy of his 16-ball 39*. After the match, former Indian opener Aakash Chopra slammed the visitors.

Chopra slammed the Bangla Tigers for their playing style and said on his YouTube channel, "Decimate, dominate, they were disposed of. Bangladesh guys - what are you doing, what sort of cricket do you play? You didn't even come close. This wasn't a match but a mismatch. India have gone 1-0 ahead. Whoever bowled picked up wickets, and whoever had a bat in his hands hit."

"The Indian team are playing like that because, sorry Bangladesh, due respect, but you are not challenging us. You are playing sub-standard cricket. You are playing extremely mediocre cricket. So when you start challenging yourself, you play cricket like this because whoever came (Indian batters), was hitting," Chopra added.

Talking about the contest, Indian bowlers dominated the show as none of the Bangladeshi batters looked threatening in the middle. In the run-chase, Indian batters continued their aggressive show with Samson, Abhishek Sharma and Surya taking India off to a flier before Hardik finished proceedings in style. His knock was laced with 5 fours and 2 sixes at a strike rate of 243.75.

Bangladesh need to produce something really special in the second and penultimate T20I, in New Delhi on Wednesday (Oct 9), to level the series.
