After playing a pivotal role in Team India’s success at the T20 World Cup star bowler Jasprit Burmah got a warm welcome at his home in Ahmedabad on Monday (Jul8). Bumrah, named Player of the Tournament at the T20 World Cup scalped 15 wickets in eight matches and was the most successful bowler in the tournament. His figures proved to be the difference-maker for India as they won their second T20 World Cup on June 30.

Having played a key role in India’s World Cup win, Bumrah was given a fitting welcome by friends and family at his residence in Ahmedabad. His mother was a key attraction when he got out of the car and was then seen hugging her and other friends on his way home. Bumrahlater posted a picture of him with his mother while also cutting a cake that had the T20 World Cup trophy on it.
Bumrah’s grand welcome also caught the eye of the internet where fans wished him for the success he had. Interestingly, his better-half Sanjana Ganesan was not seen during the great welcome.

The player was left stranded with the rest of the Indian team in Barbados after Team India won the T20 World Cup. A chartered flight was then arranged for the Indian team last Wednesday after which the players returned home on Thursday. They were given a warm welcome by the Indian fans in New Delhi after which they met Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
After meeting the PM in Delhi, the players including Jasprit Bumrah headed to Mumbai where they again got a great welcome from the local cricket fans. The fans thronged Marine Drive and the streets leading to the Wankhede Stadium before the players were felicitated by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI).
