'Proud of myself,' says pacer Harshit Rana after being named in India's squad for Australia Tests

India pacer Harshit Rana is 'proud of himself' after being named in the squad for the upcoming five-Test Australia tour which starts November 22. Rana is one of the five pacers along with Jasprit Bumrah, Mohammed Siraj, Akash Deep and Prasidh Krishna.
Rana also said that his competitive attitude is similar to that off Australia. The development was reported by cricket news website ESPNCricinfo.

"The kind of competitive attitude I like to play cricket with on the field is very similar to Australia's. It was my father's dream that I play a Test against England sometime at Lord's, but I personally like Australia more. I am proud of myself, that my name came up for this tour," said Rana.
The pacer also said that being with the team since Indian Premier League (IPL) has helped him learned a lot of things and grow a lot as well.
"I have been with the Indian team continuously since the IPL and I have learnt a lot of things there. This lesson is not only about cricket, but also about life, how a sportsperson advances in his career and life. Even as a cricketer, I have grown a lot by being with the Indian team."

"Only when the team was announced did I know I was going to Australia. But I had indications that I might be selected for the Australia tour because they had me with the team to prepare. Being selected for Australia tour is a big deal for me," he added.
India's tour of Australia begins on 22 November in Perth before the day-night second Test in Adelaide from December 6-10. The third Test will be played at the Gabba in Brisbane from 14-18 December before the Boxing Day Test at the Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG) from December 26-30. The last and final Test will be played at the Sydney Cricket Ground (SCG) from Jan 3-7.
