Ola Electric made a slew of key announcements at its annual event - Sankalp 2024 - held at its Futurefactory in Krishnagiri, Tamil Nadu on Thursday. The company has entered the electric motorcycle segment with the launch of the Roadster electric motorcycle series consisting of three trims - Roadster Pro, Roadster and Roadster X. Each motorcycle is further classified into different variants depending on the size of their battery packs.
Apart from this, the EV maker announced new generation of its operating software - MoveOS 5 and revealed the Gen-3 platform for its future electric vehicles. The company revealed its future roadmap in the EV and energy segments by showcasing the upcoming electric scooters and teased two new electric motorbikes - Sportster and Arrowhead. It also unveiled its in-house 4680 lithium-ion cell, called Bharat Cell. The new and bigger cell will be built in its new battery gigafactory and will be integrated in its upcoming vehicles starting Q1 FY26.

Ola Roadster X
The Roadster X comes as an entry-level electric motorcycle which is claimed to be fastest in the segment. It is available in 2.5 kWh, 3.5 kWh, and 4.5 kWh battery variants, priced at INR 75,000, INR 85,000 and INR 1 lakh, respectively (all prices are ex-showroom and introductory). Reservations have been opened while delivers for these will begin from Q4 FY25. The top-varinat comes with a peak motor output of 11 kW, 0-40 kmph in 2.8 seconds and has a maximum speed of 124 kmph. It offers a range of up to 200 km.
Roadster X comes with an efficient Combi Braking System (CBS) with disk brakes at the front with advanced brake by wire technology. It gets Sports, Normal, and Eco riding modes. It features 4.3-inch LCD segment display powered by MoveOS 5 with functions like Ola Maps Navigation, advanced regen, cruise control, DIY Mode, TPMS alerts, OTA updates and others.
Ola Roadster
The Roadster claims to be the fastest motorcycle in the commuter segment powered by a 13 KW motor. It is available in 3.5 kWh, 4.5 kWh, and 6 kWh battery variants, priced at INR 1.05 lakh, INR 1.2 lakh and INR 1.4 lakh, respectively (ex-showroom and introductory). Reservations have been opened while delivers for these will begin from Q4 FY25. The top-variant can cruise from 0-40 kmph in just 2 seconds andhas a top speed of 126 kmph and a range of up to 248 kms.
It comes with four riding modes - Hyper, Sports, Normal, and Eco. It is powered by MoveOS 5 and gets a segment-first 6.8-inch TFT touchscreen. Features on the scooter include proximity unlock, cruise control, party mode, tamper alert, along with AI-powered Krutrim Assistant, smartwatch app, road trip planner. For safety, it gets disc brakes at the front and the rear, supported by advanced single-channel ABS.
Ola Roadster Pro
The performance version of the series - Roadster Pro - is available in 8 kWh and 16 kWh variants, priced at INR 2 lakh and INR 2.5 lakh respectively (ex-showroom, introductory). While bookings have started, its deliveries will begin in Q4 FY26. The top-spec variant offers a a peak power output of 52 kW and 105 Nm torque, and can accelerate from 0-40 kmph in just 1.2 sec, 0-60 kmph in 1.9 seconds and clocks a top speed of 194 kmph.
The 16 kWh battery pack delivers an IDC certified range of 579 km. The motorcycle sports a 10-inch TFT touchscreen, USD (upside down) forks, two-channel switchable ABS with disc brakes at the front and the rear. Its four riding modes are - Hyper, Sport, Normal, and Eco, along with two DIY modes.
The motorcycles will come with 8-year battery warranty while customers will be able to enjoy the convenience of using Ola’s existing charging network for their motorcycles.
Ola MoveOS 5
The latest iteration of Ola Electric's operating software - MoveOS 5 - aims to offer an improved overall riding experience. It unlocks features like Group Navigation, Live Location Sharing and Road Trip Mode powered by Ola Maps. Performance enhancing features like Smart Charging, Smart Park, and TPMS alerts will also be available. The MoveOS 5 will see the debut of the company's in-house voice assistant and predictive insights powered by Krutrim AI assistant. Beta version of the MoveOS 5 will be available for users by Diwali this year via an OTA update.
