Japanese automaker Nissan Motor has upgraded the Magnite compact SUV with an array of updates on the exterior and the cabin. The 2024 iteration of the model starts at an introductory price of INR 6 lakh (ex-showroom) for the first 10,000 deliveries, which will begin from October 5. The company is offering 18 variants for the new Magnite with new variant names to align with its global product portfolio. The top-spec Tekna+ variant in Turbo petrol CVT has an introductory price tag of INR 11.5 lakh (ex-showroom).
2024 Nissan Magnite will be manufactured at the company's Alliance plant in Chennai, Tamil Nadu and will be exported to 65+ markets from here. With the expansion of its export markets for the Magnite, the company has introduced the Left-Hand Drive version of the model in the same specifications as the Right-Hand Drive version. The model was first launch in India and the international markets in December of 2020.
2024 Nissan Magnite Exterior and Design:
The new Nissan Magnite comes with a slightly bigger and bolder hexagonal-shaped honeycomb grille with thick chrome surround. It gets sleek LED headlamps with lightsaber-style turn indicator, LED taillamps with 3D gradient honeycomb pattern, and signature L-Shape DRLs. The new floating uplifted skid plate at the front and new dual tone R16 Diamond Cut Alloy wheel give the vehicle a bolder road presence.
At the rear, it features M-shaped rear signature lights, where M stands for Magnite. The vehicle gets a new Sunrise Copper Orange colour tone, taking the total colour options to 11 - six monotone and five dual-tone.
2024 Nissan Magnite Interior and Technology:
Inside the cabin, Nissan has focused on increasing the premium quotient of the vehicle by taking a 360-degree leatherette approach. Various frequent touch areas in the vehicle have been wrapped in soft Brownish Orange leatherette such as the dashboard, seat upholstery with honeycomb quilting pattern, all door trim, parking brake lever, steering, and front armrest. The interior boasts a three-tone colour coordination with a touch of the new Sunrise Orange colour.
The hexagonal pattern has been continued on the seats while the 'Magnite' lettering on front armrest adds to the premium quotient of the vehicle. The leatherette seats come with Heat Guard Technology to prevent the vehicle from heating up when parked in the open. The rear seats get a cup and phone holder while a Plasma Cluster air ionizer keeps the air inside the vehicle clean.
The model offers a floating 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay and a 17.78-cm full digital advanced multi-functional cluster with dark theme. Other features include an Around View Monitor, 3D sound by ARKAMYS, cruise control, four-colour ambient lighting with memory function, and a new global smart key with remote engine start with 60 m range, among others.
In terms of storage space, the 2024 Magnite offers 19+ utility storage spaces including a 10-litre cooled glove box and a 1-litre water bottle holder on each door. The boot space can be expanded from 336-litre to 540-litre with standard 60:40 rear seat split. Consumers can also opt for the tech pack on the Magnite which offers a dashcam, wireless charger, premium JBL speakers, puddle lamps and LED scuff plates.
2024 Nissan Magnite Engine and Performance:
2024 Nissan Magnite continues to offer the same engine options as the outgoing model - the HRA0 1.0 turbo petrol engine and the B4D 1.0-litre petrol engine. The former offers a fuel-efficiency of 20Kmpl and delivers higher torque at lower speed.
The HRA0 1.0-litre turbo engine is available with five-speed manual and X-TRONIC CVT gearbox while the naturally aspirated B4D 1.0-litre comes with manual or EZ-Shift (AMT) option.
2024 Nissan Magnite Safety highlights:
The new Magnite is offered with 40+ standard active and safety features and a total of 55+ safety features. It offers six airbags - two front, two side and two curtain - as standard on all 18 variants. Other standard features include Vehicle Dynamic Control (VDC), Traction Control System (TCS), Hill Start Assist (HAS), Hydraulic Brake Assist (HBA), Anti-Lock Braking System (ABS), Electronic Brake-force Distribution (EBD) and Tyre Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS). Customers will also get three-point seat-belt for all seats, seat-belt reminder for all seats, child lock, ISOFIX child seat anchorages, and rear parking sensor as standard.
To provide further peace of mind to consumers, the carmaker is offering a 3-year / 100K kms warranty as standard along with 3-year Road Side Assistance.
