Nissan Formula E team unveils updated livery and new driver lineup for 2024/25 season

Nissan Formula E Team has revealed its updated livery for the 2024/25 ABB FIA Formula E World Championship, marking the team's readiness for the first season under the new GEN3 Evo regulations. The team, which finished fourth in both the Teams' and Drivers' Championships last season, aims to build on its recent successes and climb further up the grid.

The Japanese manufacturer has opted to retain its popular cherry blossom livery, which has been a fan favourite since its debut at the beginning of Season 9. This design choice is significant for the team, serving as both a nod to its Japanese heritage and a symbol of new beginnings. The cherry blossom pattern has now become an integral part of Nissan's identity in Formula E.

In a strategic move to enhance their competitive edge, Nissan Formula E Team has refreshed its driver lineup for the upcoming season. Experienced driver Norman Nato will return to the team after a season away, joining Oliver Rowland, who demonstrated exceptional performance in Season 10 with two victories and five additional podium finishes. This pairing brings together two Formula E race winners, both known for their ability to extract maximum performance from their vehicles and contribute significantly to car development.

Nato will continue to race with the #17 on his Nissan e-4ORCE 05, while Rowland will switch to Nissan's traditional #23. The team's managing director and team principal, Tommaso Volpe, expressed confidence in the new lineup, stating, "Norman has settled in very quickly, and together with Oli, we're confident that we have a strong lineup ready to fight for wins and podiums throughout the upcoming campaign."

A significant development for the team is the full operationalisation of their new factory ahead of the 2024/25 season. This dedicated facility, spanning 2,600 square metres, is located south of Paris and features a comprehensive suite of resources including a workshop area, simulator, engineering and management offices, as well as display, meeting, and multipurpose areas. The strategic location near other Nissan sites and Alliance partners is expected to foster synergies and provide access to shared talent, equipment, and facilities.

Volpe highlighted the impact of the new facility, saying, "Our new workshop is fully operational now, which is making a huge difference - we've been able to take full advantage of the facilities, allowing us to maximise the potential of the team."

The team is also bolstered by strong partnerships for the upcoming season. Electromin, a leading mobility solutions provider in the Middle East, has extended and increased its collaboration with the team to become the main partner. Existing relationships with Coral, a carbon emissions offsetting specialist, and Coral Eyewear, a sustainable fashion start-up, continue to support the team's sustainability efforts.

Kalyana Sivagnanam, Group CEO of Petromin Corporation (Electromin's parent company), expressed pride in the partnership, stating, "We see this partnership as a key step in accelerating the adoption of EV technology across the region."

Both Rowland and Nato have expressed enthusiasm for the upcoming season. Rowland commented on the team's new facilities, saying, "It's great to have the new workshop fully in action, I've been really impressed by the facilities. The location is ideal and it sets a high bar for ourselves, showing our ambition to continue improving and fighting at the front."

Nato, eager to return to the team, said, "I'm delighted to be back with the team and I already feel comfortable straight away with the car, simulator and staff. The biggest change has been the excellent new workshop, allowing us to prepare and debrief from races in amazing conditions."

The Nissan Formula E Team will have their first official on-track appearance as a new driver pairing during pre-season testing from November 4-7 in Valencia. The 2024/25 season is set to kick off on December 7 with the São Paulo E-Prix, where the team will look to capitalise on their preparations and aim for top positions in the championship.
