
Delhi-based electric vehicle startup Euler Motors has entered the four-wheeler light commercial vehicle segment with the launch of Storm EV. It will be available in two variants - Storm EV T1250 for intra-city commutes and Storm EV Long Range for inter-city commutes. The former is priced at INR 8.99 lakh while the latter gets a price tag of INR 13 lakh (both prices are introductory and ex-showroom). Both these models offer a real world range of 140 kilometres and 200 kilometres, respectively, with a payload capacity of 1250 kg. Deliveries will begin from October 3 in phases to cover 31 cities in the country.
Euler Storm EV's segment-first features and safety highlights:
Euler Storm EV is touted to offer 11 segment-first features including ADAS and a 10.2-inch infotainment system for the safety and entertainment of drivers. ADAS or Advanced Driver Assistance System in Storm EV include features like NVA or Night Vision Assist and front and reverse camera collision alert capabilities. NVA has been built to offer clear imaging of obstacles on the road even in pitch darkness, allowing drivers to drive safely at night. Other safety safety include a dedicated mobile/ web app - Shepherd - to track vehicle location. The app can also be used to book nearest charging station and receive maintenance alerts.
There is also a segment-first digital lock system via a single-tap to prevent cargo theft. A front and a rear camera in the vehicle offer 24 X 7 CCTV monitoring of the vehicle while the dash type camera provides continuous recording of every trip with playback option. Further, a roll arrest bar ensures safe navigation of sharp turns.
Euler Storm EV battery and charging capabilities:
Storm EV has been built on the Modular skateboard platform which allows integration of diverse components for different customer needs. The vehicle uses in-house liquid cooled battery powered by ArcReactorTM 200 technology. The battery pack is laser-welded, water/dust-proof AIS 38 certified with IP67 rating. The T1250 variant can add 100 kilometres of range in 30 minutes of fast-charging while the long-range version can add as much range in just 15 minutes of fast charging.
Euler Storm EV dimensions:
The Storm EV T1250 has a body length of 8.2 feet and volumetric capacity of 220 and 260 Cft. It comes in two variants - a standard variant to carry regular loads and an armoured variant for dense loads such as mortar, wood and heavy cylinders. The long range version has 10 feet body length and 330 Cft volumetric capacity. Euler Motors also offers an industry-first extended 7-year / 2.0 Lakhs kms warranty.
Euler Storm EV driving modes:
There are three driving modes available – Range, Thunder and Rhino. The Range variant is a standard drive mode to derive maximum range from the powertrain. The Thunder mode is to reach the top speed of 70 kmph to overtake slower goods vehicles while the Rhino mode is a torque-heavy drive mode to navigate hilly or rural terrains.
Euler Storm EV interior and exterior highlights:
The front design of the Storm EV has been inspired from a tiger's face and it features front and rear intelligent sequential headlamps that indicate real-time view of vehicle charging levels. The infotainment system, called Chimera integrates navigation, alerts, and is an entertainment hub. The company offers WhatsApp and maps integration to allow drivers to receive location data quickly, reducing time lost finding pick / drop locations. Further, there is a power steering with buttons to receive calls or play video games, which adds to the driver's ownership experience. The Long Range EV is also equipped with air conditioning to enhance driver comfort.
