US boy dies after strong winds lift a bouncy castle into air

A five-year-old boy was killed and another child was injuredafter strong winds lifted a bouncy castle into the air in the US state of Maryland. A report by BBC said that the incident occurred on Friday (Aug 2).
A few children were playingoutside the Regency Furniture Stadium in Waldorf when the bouncy castlelifted 15 to 20 feet and landed inside the stadiumwhere a baseball game was being played.

Citing Charles County authorities, the report said that some children fell to the ground before the bouncy castle landed.
Emergency services were called and the two children wereflown to Children's National Hospital in Washington DC by Maryland State Police, Sky News reported.

The five-year-old boy, who was a resident of La Plata town in Maryland, was pronounced dead. The second child was wounded but did not suffer any life-threatening injuries.
Witnesses told Sky News that the castlewas secured by stakes hammered into the ground.
'...began caring for patients within minutes'
In a statement,the local government area of Charles County said that emergencyservices who were already at the stadium for the game along with trainers from the baseball team and other volunteersbegan caring for patients within minutes after the bouncy castle took off.
According to weather reports,strong to severe stormy conditions were anticipated for Friday afternoon and evening.
