One of the remarkable features of this microgrid is its ability to operate indefinitely in "island mode," ensuring uninterrupted operations even during power outages or grid disruptions. This added resilience is crucial for maintaining the continuity of essential public transportation services.

The microgrid will be housed at the David F. Bone Equipment Maintenance and Transit Operations Center, a vital hub within the Ride On Montgomery network and the fifth-largest county-owned energy consumer. By 2035, the depot is projected to accommodate a fleet of 200 zero-emissions buses, with a significant portion being hydrogen fuel cell electric buses (FCEBs).

This time it was a fabricated audio clip of a high school principal in the US state of Maryland which went viral and sparked outrage and even to some death threats amid allegations of racism and antisemitism.&nbsp;

The fabricated audio of Pikesville high school principal Eric Eiswert where he can be heard making racist and antisemitic comments went viral back in January. The clip sparked outrage and led him to be placed on administrative leave pending an investigation.&nbsp;

Meanwhile, the administrators of the school were left dealing with a flood of angry calls and threats of violence. One user on X told Eiswert that the “world would be a better place if you were on the other side of the dirt,” according to a police report.&nbsp;

It was not until late last month that the Baltimore County Police Department charged a disgruntled staff member at the school in connection with the clip, which had been boosted by a popular Instagram account.&nbsp;

The incident garnered attention across the US after activist DeRay McKesson shared the clip and called for Eiswert to be fired. However, after the charges surfaced, he reportedly conceded he had been fooled.

In a press conference, Scott Shellenberger, the Baltimore County state’s attorney said that the incident at Pikesville highlighted the need to “bring the law up to date with the technology.”

Shellenberger’s office is prosecuting Darien on four charges, including disturbing school activities.&nbsp;

Notably, the 31-year-old’s arrest took place as the investigators were able to trace the audio clip back to him after connecting an email address that was initially used to distribute it. &nbsp;&nbsp;

The police believe that the alleged smear job came after Eiswert in December, opened an investigation against Darien to find out if he authorised an illegitimate payment to a coach who was also his roommate.

The audio “contained traces of AI-generated content with human editing after the fact,” said a professor from the University of Colorado who analysed the audio for the police.&nbsp;

The police, who also consulted Farid said that he found that the clip was “manipulated, and multiple recordings were spliced together using unknown software.”

According to the charging documents, Darien made searches for AI tools via the school’s network before the audio came out.&nbsp;

The report also said that the man had been residing in the US for the last nine years, and both he and his wife were working as software engineers. The man's cousin claimed that the couple were happily married.

The man's family members have&nbsp;now approached Indian authorities to help them repatriate the mortal remains of the deceased. A police officer in the&nbsp;Davanagere district assured that all possible assistance would be provided to the family.

According to&nbsp;Annapolis Police spokesperson Bernie Bennett, the encounter in the southeastern region of the city was a case of "domestic shooting" where multiple people were struck by gunfire.&nbsp;

The suspect and the victims appeared to know each other. The Baltimore Sun said it was a domestic dispute that turned awry.

Although the suspect was nabbed by the police, said Bennet and that one person was taken to a trauma centre, he could not confirm the number of fatalities.&nbsp;

City Police Chief Ed Jackson hinted there could be rise in the number of fatalities.&nbsp;

“We don’t get very many calls of this nature in this area,” said Jackson, adding that "no area if immune" to the widespread availability of handguns.&nbsp;

"Please keep the family and the first responders of the Annapolis Police Department &amp; Annapolis Fire Department in your thoughts tonight," she added.&nbsp;

Meanwhile,&nbsp;Annapolis Mayor Gavin Buckley expressed surprise at the incident and added that guns were a problem.&nbsp;

Adnan Syed's case was made famous by the podcast Serial, which had poked holes in his conviction and essentially helped in his release. But on Tuesday (March 29), a Maryland appellate court passed the judgement, after a 2-1 decision, throwing open the case again, saying the lower court had violated the right of the victim's family to attend a critical hearing in the case.&nbsp;

Syed was convicted of the murder of Hae Min Lee but her brother Young Lee was not allowed to attend one of the key hearings, thereby violating his legal right.

"Because the circuit court violated Mr. Lee’s right to notice of, and his right to attend, the hearing on the State’s motion to vacate...this Court has the power and obligation to remedy those violations, as long we can do so without violating Mr. Syed’s right to be free from double jeopardy," the court observed.&nbsp;

"Accordingly, we vacate the circuit court's order vacating Mr. Syed's convictions, which results in the reinstatement of the original convictions and sentence."
