Three Indian women die in US after car crashes into trees in devastating accident

Three women from the Indian state of Gujarat tragically got killed in a devastating car accident in the United States. The accident occurred in Greenville County, South Carolina, as their SUV veered off Interstate 85 at Staunton Bridge Road, crashing into trees. The three women were identified as Rekhaben Patel, Manishaben Patel, andSangitaben Patel, who were living in Georgia. They were originally from Borsad tehsil in Gujarat's Anand district.

According to Deputy Coroner Mike Ellis, the SUV was traveling at a high speedthat became evident from its trajectory off the road, collision with a cement bridge, and subsequent impact with trees.

Ellis said, "It is obvious they were traveling above the posted speed limit."

The vehicle, carrying the three victims and another individual, crossed all lanes of the interstate, soared over an embankment, and landed approximately 20 feet above the ground before crashing into trees.

Ellis described the scene as rare stating, "Very seldom do you see a vehicle that leaves the roadway at such a high rate of speed that it jumps 4-6 lanes of traffic and lands in the trees approximately 20 feet."

Emergency responders, including the South Carolina Highway Patrol, Greenville County EMS units, and Gannt Fire and Rescue swiftly arrived at the scene.

Sadly, the three women from Gujarat succumbed to their injuries, while the fourth occupant of the vehicle, the one who was behind the wheels driving, sustained injuries and was hospitalised. The detection system of the vehicle alerted family members, who then informed local authorities about the tragic incident.

“When you got family, probably related, three deceased it is nothing that you want to ever see,"Ellis said.The coroner’s office, along with other agencies, are actively probing the speed at which the car was traveling before the tragic crash. Ellis revealed that the vehicle was discovered in pieces post-accident. He clarified that no other vehicles were involved in the incident.
