A 51-year-old Indian-origin man was arrested and charged with capital murder in connectionwith the fatal shooting of 21-year-old Muna Pandey in her apartment in Houston, United States (US).
A report by Fox News on Thursday (Aug 29) said that the attacker was identified asBobby Singh Shah. He was arrested on Wednesdayduring a traffic stop in northwest Houston.
Pandey was anursing student and sales representative. The Fox News report said that Pandey was found deadin her apartment at 6363 West Airport Boulevard on Monday evening.
She was found with multiple gunshot wounds after apartment staff received an anonymous tip and contacted authorities.
The report added that an initial investigation led to the release of surveillance footage which showed a man exiting the 21-year-old's apartmenttwo days before her body was found.
Authorities later identified this man as Shah, andthe Harris County District Attorney's Office filed a capital murder charge against him.
The Fox News report also said that a GoFundMe was set up to cover the expenses of Pandey's funeral.
The funds would help Pandey's mother Anitabe present for her daughter’s final journey and ensure she receives a proper farewell.
