Heineken Light's latest commercial sparked an outcry after which the company announced the withdrawal of the advertisement on Tuesday.

Heineken confirmed pulling the video commercial for its global markets. “While we feel the ad is referencing our Heineken Light beer, we missed the mark, are taking the feedback to heart and will use this to influence future campaigns,” the company said in a statement.

The commercial runs with the punchline, “Sometimes, Lighter is Better” and shows a bartender swinging a bottle of Heineken Light across a number of people of color, before the bottle finally reaches a light-skinned woman.

The Chicago-born music artist tweeted out saying that the commercial is highly racist.

"I think some companies are purposely putting out noticeably racist ads so they can get more views. And that shit racist/bogus so I guess I shouldn’t help by posting about it. But, I gotta just say though. The “sometimes lighter is better” Hienekin commercial is terribly racist omg," read his tweet.
