Belgium and France in spat after finding tonnes of dead fish in river

France and Belgium are currently in a diplomatic spat and it is over tons of dead fishes.
Regional governments in Belgium have accused France of not properly warning them of a leak at a sugar beet refinery, which led to the death of numerous fish in the Scheldt river.
The Belgian region of Wallonia has said that tonnes of fish were killed by pollution that flowed across the border from France.
Wallonia which is the French-speaking region of southern Belgium has adjoined border with France.
They have even accused the French authorities of being too slow to issue a warning.
However, the French company has said there was no proven link between the dead fish in Belgium and the leak at its facility.

French sugar maker Tereos said that a leak was found on April 9. It was then repaired on April 10 and that the situation was back to normal by April 13 on the French side of the Scheldt.
But Belgium maintains that France's slow response aggravated the problem.
Wallonia environment minister Celine Tellier even added that a polluter could be fined of up to 1 million euros in Wallonia.
The French environment ministry is yet to respond to this crisis.
