Maldives President request India to withdraw its stationed troops

The newly elected government in Maldives has asked India to withdraw its troops stationed on the country's soil. President Mohamed Muiz made this request after winning a tightly contested presidential polls held in September. President Mohamed Muiz met Indian Union Minister Kiran Rijiju in Mali and as per sources Muiz brought up the issue of Indian military personnel who are currently stationed in Maldives during the talks.
