US Ambassador to China David Perdue said President Donald Trump once asked Chinese President Xi Jinping whether China would like to buy U.S. weapons. The revelation came days after Xi’s state visit to Washington, amid ongoing discussions over U.S. arms sales to Taiwan. Perdue said Trump and Xi continue to discuss the issue, while Beijing has opposed U.S. weapons sales to Taiwan.
