Karnataka: Unique protest against proposed tunnel road project
Bengaluru citizens staged a striking protest at Lalbagh Botanical Garden, forming human chains and hugging the park's ancient Peninsular Gneiss rock formation to oppose the state's proposed twin-tunnel road project. Organised by the Lalbagh Walkers Association, the protest highlighted fears that tunnelling could damage the rock, believed to be millions of years old, along with the park's rich biodiversity and green cover.
