The BJP has “not been able to make the mark”, Karnataka CM Basavaraj Bommai said conceding defeat as Congress continued to surge forward with leads in 117 seats while the BJP was ahead in 75 in Karnataka. The Janata Dal-S (JD-S), hoping to become kingmaker, was leading in 25 seats.
