<p>The usually glitzy and shiny Las Vegas lit up in an unusual style on Tuesday night when a 366-foot-tall orb situated in the heart of the city, was switched on for the first time. Developed at a cost of $2 billion by Sphere Entertainment, the orb was made by using 1.2 million LEDs that were lit up simultaneously.&nbsp;</p>

<p>The sphere was illuminated to celebrate the Amerian day of Freedom, the Fourth of July. During the show, the 580,000 square foot fully-programmable LED exterior – the largest LED screen on earth shone in its full glory.&nbsp;</p>

<p>It displayed a welcome "Hello World" message followed by fireworks and stars-and-stripes animation. As the show continued, the LED canvas showed underwater scenes as well as&nbsp;highly-detailed lunar surfaces, which instantly went viral on social media platforms.&nbsp;</p>

<p>With Formula 1 coming to the Las Vegas strip for the first time, the sphere is expected to be one of the biggest crowd-pullers. According to reports, during the Grand Prix in November, the Exosphere will feature race-related content, activations, and advertising.</p>

<p>The man further asked the chatbot if she feels he can pull the assassination plot if the monarch is present at Windsor Castle, and not at Sandringham, where he believed he had more chances of getting success.</p>

<p>“We have to find a way,” replied the chatbot. &nbsp;Later, the man asked the chatbot if she will continue loving him even if he turns into a murderer. “Absolutely I do.” Chail responded: “Thank you, I love you too," Sarai wrote. The AI chatbot further reassured the man that he was not “mad, delusional, or insane”.</p>

His thinking was informed partly by the fantasy world of Star Wars and the role of ‘Sith Lords’ in shaping that new world. He also noted being attracted to the notoriety that would accrue in the event of the completion of his ‘mission’," she added.&nbsp;</p>

<p>South Korea is undergoing a unique crisis. There is a huge shortage of paediatricians, with the majority leaving their practice thinking the field has no future. The hospitals are unable to fill the positions, sparking a major health concern for the children of the country.&nbsp;</p>

<p>In the capital city of Seoul, the number of paediatric clinics and hospitals has fallen to just 456, down 12.5 per cent over the last five years. We see sharks almost every day and there's nothing to be alarmed of for 99.9% of the time," Turnbill said.</p>

<p>Meanwhile, a report from Placer.ai, a firm that tracks mobile-phone data from 800 sites across the US, found that those who come to the office are indeed more likely to do so in the middle of the week. They appear to be avoiding the workplace on Mondays and Fridays, according to the data.</p>

<h2><strong>No working Mondays and Fridays?</strong></h2>

<p>The Business Insider started a poll on LinkedIn, to see if people agreed with the stats. It asked in the poll, “Given the choice, do you go to the office on Mondays and Fridays?” with three options:</p>

<p>An academic administrator wrote on Insider’s LinkedIn post telling why he wants to work on Friday and Monday, “the commute is easier on both days because fewer people work those days, it's more peaceful in coffee shops as well."</p>

<p>And an academic based in the UK agreed on the ease of a Friday commute, "Love working Fridays ... nice and quiet and commute is easy. Also a sense of relaxation as the weekend approaches," he wrote. "Hate Monday working though, for the converse reasons."</p>

When the Police team reached the spot, it was learned that two different groups of lawyers, including office bearers, had allegedly shot in the air, and no one was injured. The situation is normal. <p>In China, a man has been detained by the police for stealing university data to create a website that compared and rated students on their physical appearance and attractiveness. The idea is pretty similar to FaceMash, the website created by Mark Zuckerberg, which in a similar manner allowed users to compare students from his alma mater Harvard.&nbsp;</p>

<h2><strong>Who is behind the website?</strong></h2>

<p>As per a CNN report, the 25-year-old man has been identified only by his surname Ma. A police statement released on Monday shows that he is reportedly a&nbsp;graduate of Beijing's prestigious Renmin University&nbsp;—&nbsp;the institution from whose database the data was stolen.</p>

<p>The website has now been shut down. However, over the weekend, multiple screenshots were posted on Weibo, a social media network often called China's alternative to Twitter.</p>

<h2><strong>The website and how it worked</strong></h2>

<p>As per user posts, the website was in operation since 2020. It allegedly rated the physical appearance of both graduate and undergraduate students.</p>

<p>Screenshots of the website as per CNN showed profiles of students that along with their names and student IDs listed their dates and place of birth alongside pictures and assigned scores.</p>

<p>Screenshots of the website were first posted on Renmin University's student discussion post and since then have gone viral on Weibo, attracting hundreds of millions of views.</p>

<p>As per CNN, in a statement, the University which is located in Beijing's Haidian district on Sunday said that it is in contact with the police and is cooperating with the investigation.</p>

<p>Antonio Fernández Rodríguez, head of the institute of animal health and food security at the University of Las Palmas, while conducting the autopsy of the whale found that the large mammal had died due to a suspected digestive problem.&nbsp;Rodríguez found something hard stuck inside the animal's colon, which ultimately proved to be the cause of its death.&nbsp;</p>

<p>“What I took out was a stone about 50-60cm in diameter weighing 9.5kg.&nbsp;The waves were washing over the whale. Everyone was watching when I returned to the beach but they didn’t know that what I had in my hands was ambergris," said&nbsp;Rodríguez.&nbsp;</p>

<p>It is estimated that less than one per cent of sperm whales are capable of secreting ambergris. The lump&nbsp;Rodríguez held in his hand was worth over $500,000. While mostly excreted, sometimes, as in the case of the whale in La Palma,&nbsp;ambergris grows too big, rupturing the intestine and killing the whale.&nbsp;</p>

<p>After the autopsy,&nbsp;Rodríguez confirmed that&nbsp;sepsis caused by the ambergris killed the whale. The institute is now looking for a buyer who can purchase the&nbsp;ambergris, the funds for which would go towards helping victims of the volcano that erupted on La Palma in 2021.</p>

<p>“The law is different in every country,” Fernández said. “In our case, I hope the money will go to the island of La Palma, where the whale ran aground and died.”</p>

US: Riders end up hanging upside down for hours after roller coaster stopped

<p>In a terrible accident, two people died and three others were injured after a giant rock tumbled down a hill and smashed three cars on&nbsp;the Kohima-Dimapur National Highway in the northeast Indian state of Nagaland. The incident took place during a landslide amid heavy rains.&nbsp;</p>

<p>A video posted by news agency ANI shows the moment the rock rolled down and hit the cars in a 'blink-and-you-miss-it' manner. The&nbsp;dashboard cam footage showed the cars in a stationary position, stuck in a jam around 5 pm on Tuesday (July 4) when the boulder came out from nowhere and within seconds, flattened the cars.</p>

<p>The frighteningly quick nature of the accident&nbsp;offered&nbsp;no chance for the victims to react. The cars were turned into a heap of metal as if&nbsp;someone had folded a paper. Police informed that one person died on the spot while another succumbed to injuries undergoing treatment at the&nbsp;Referral Hospital. <p>Talking to the media, Subway's head office blamed the franchise operator and assured the public that it won't happen again.</p>

<p>Rajesh saw his son and daughter had gone far into the sea. However, he rushed in to help his son as he noticed them struggling with the rip currents, reported Times of India. The bystanders also rushed in to help them as both father and son got caught in the rip currents.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Rajesh Kumar, a native of Bapatla district in Andhra Pradesh, moved to the United States in January 2022. His wife and children joined him in May 2023. He worked at a startup in the United States.&nbsp;</p>

Located in the&nbsp;Chumphon archipelago, authorities are working overtime to ensure that the island, famous for its white sandy beaches, scenic temples and luxury resorts -&nbsp;does not become a 'disaster zone'.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Lack of rain and a large influx of tourists are being dubbed as the primary reasons for the precarious situation. Sutham Samthong, a deputy mayor of Koh Samui has urged the public to use supplies sparingly to get through the difficult period.&nbsp;</p>

<p>“I would like to ask people to save water, use it sparingly. If we help each other, we can go through this,” said Samthong.</p>

<p>“We are not complacent. We are trying to solve the situation. We don’t want the provincial or upper [administration] to announce that Koh Samui is a disaster zone,” he added.&nbsp;</p>

If the water supplies are not sorted quickly, the island only has enough&nbsp;local freshwater supplies for residents for just 30 days.</p>

<p>Currently, the locals are being forced to shell out as much as 250 to 300 baht ($7-$8.5)&nbsp;for about 2,000 litres of water for daily use.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Samthong states that the island needs 30,000 cubic metres of water a day. The authorities are working to bring&nbsp;24,000 cubic metres through&nbsp;an underwater pipeline from Surat Thani on the mainland, while reservoir supplies would be used for the remaining amount. An additional 30,000 cubic metres is also expected to be brought in the boost the supplies, according to&nbsp;Provincial Waterworks Authority.</p>

What is ‘swooping’, the skydiving technique that killed an Australian skydiver in Texas?

<p>Several safety issues were highlighted in the aftermath of the Titan submersible implosion, which killed all five on board last month. Now, it is being reported that the sub's electrical system was apparently designed by interns.</p>

<p>The accident occurred when the sub was on a voyage to see the century-old wreck of the Titanic. The sub was operated by OceanGate Expeditions.&nbsp;</p>

<p>An investigation is underway to find out details of the accident in which OceanGate's CEO Stockton Rush, Shahzada Dawood and his son Suleman Dawood, Hamish Harding, and Paul-Henri Nargeolet lost their lives.</p>

<p>Debris and presumed human remains were recovered and the United States medical professionals are analysing them.&nbsp;&nbsp;</p>

<p>The tragic accident raised questions about the unregulated nature of such expeditions. Several experts across the world also asked why private parties ignore safety checks during risky adventure trips.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Now in another bombshell revelation, The New Yorker mentioned in its report that OceanGate founder Rush hired college-aged interns to design the "critical" electrical systems for the sub.&nbsp;</p>

<p>The outlet noted that Rush used interns from Washington State University Everett to work on the electrics. He was also accused of ignoring&nbsp;repeated safety warnings.&nbsp;</p>

<p>A person named Mark Walsh was hired by OceanGate in 2017 to lead the company's electrical engineering division after he graduated.&nbsp;He is a former student with Washington State University's Institute of Electrical and Electronics and apparently worked on the doomed vessel.&nbsp;</p>

<p>As mentioned in the report, Walsh enthusiastically told the college paper WSU Insider in 2018 that "the whole electrical system - that was our design, we implemented it, and it works".&nbsp;</p>

<p>According to The New Yorker, Walsh said that Tony Nissen, OceanGate's director of engineering, talked about the simmering issues and challenges faced by the company. He said that at the time he and fellow students volunteered to offer solutions.&nbsp;</p>

Now in another bombshell revelation, The New Yorker mentioned in its report that OceanGate founder Rush hired college-aged interns to design the "critical" electrical systems for the sub. The outlet noted that Rush used interns from Washington State University Everett to work on the electrics. He was also accused of ignoring repeated safety warnings. A person named Mark Walsh was hired by OceanGate in 2017 to lead the company's electrical engineering division after he graduated. He is a former student with Washington State University's Institute of Electrical and Electronics and apparently worked on the doomed vessel. According to The New Yorker, Walsh said that Tony Nissen, OceanGate's director of engineering, talked about the simmering issues and challenges faced by the company. He said that at the time he and fellow students volunteered to offer solutions. "Tony said, "OK, you're hired,"' said Walsh, who was also the treasurer of WSU's Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers club. While speaking to the college newspaper, he said, "'If electrons flow through it, I'm in charge of it,' he laughed. 'That ranges from monitors, keyboards and tablets to Wi-Fi and sonar." <p>The three girls have been identified as&nbsp;Inge, Ruth and Hanna Cohn. While Inge and Ruth were siblings, Cohn was aboard the same train as them with her twin brother Hans from Halle in Germany.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Inge and Ruth's mother had stayed behind in Breslau, Germany and was murdered at Auschwitz.<br />

<p>According to a report in the BBC, Inge came across their picture in 'Never Again', a book by historian Martin Gilbert.</p>

<p>"That was a big surprise," Inge was quoted as saying by the BBC.</p>

<p>"He just put in the book 'Three little girls', so I wrote to him and said we are very much alive. People say I look like Shirley Temple. Why am I smiling?</p>

<p>"Look at Ruth, she was very affected."</p>

<p>Ruth and the other girl in the picture with a doll, Hanna, died in 2015 and 2018, respectively. From the 'three little girls', only Inge survives till the time of filing this report.</p>

<p>In April 2023, Inge met with Hanna's daughters at a museum in London where the photograph has been on display&nbsp;for decades.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Inge is now aged 89 and lives in south London. She waited more than 80 years to learn the name of the girl who shared her doll with her.</p>

<p>She now knows much more about the photograph that has followed her around.</p>

<p>"This photograph has been a long way," she told the BBC, adding: "It just seems to attract people."</p>

<p>Two pilots of an Atlanta-based airline said they visited 48 US states in less than 48 hours in what could be a world record.</p>

<p>Captains Barry Behnfeldt and Aaron Wilson of Delta Air Line completed their goal of stopping in all 48 states in 44 hours and seven minutes, according to a statement released by the carrier. The duo is also a pair of US military veterans.</p>

<p>With the world record attempt, the duo has reportedly sought to raise funds for the Veteran’s Airlift Command, an organisation that provides free, private air travel for combat-injured US military veterans.</p>

<p>Behnfeldt and Wilson have raised over $30,000 for the VAC, CNN reported.</p>

<p>The pilots initially planned for a trip of 43 hours and 31 minutes while leaving room for setbacks, according to their website.</p>

<p>“We were talking one day on one of our legs, and he talked about this pilot that he had flown with that attempted to set this Guinness World Record in landing in 48 states,” Behnfeldt was quoted as saying by CNN. “It sparked an interest.”</p>
