<p>There's nothing more irritating than noisy, crying children while travelling on a flight. Stuck for hours in the air, all you can do is put on earplugs that do little to dissipate the noise. For people&nbsp;who hate this, a Turkish-Dutch airline is set to introduce an “only adult” zone.</p>

<p>The service for now will be introduced on Turkish-Dutch Corendon Airlines flights between Amsterdam and Curaçao starting November&nbsp;3.&nbsp;</p>

<h2><strong>Only adults</strong></h2>

<p>“This zone on the plane is intended for travellers travelling without children and for business travellers who want to work in a quiet environment,” said the airline in a statement.</p>

<p>As per the company's press release, the 'Only Adult' section is set up in the front section of the aircraft and will have 102 seats. Nine seats will be XL with extra legroom and 93 will be standard seats.&nbsp;</p>

<p>The quiet section will be separated from the rest of the aeroplane “by means of walls and curtains, creating a shielded environment that contributes to a calm and relaxed flight.”</p>

<p>Passengers aged 16 or more can travel in this section.</p>

<h2><strong>How much will it cost?</strong></h2>

<p>Passengers in the “only adult” zone will have to cough up some extra charges for the noiseless journeys.&nbsp;</p>

<p>As per the airline, a seat reservation in the 'Only Adult' aeroplane section will cost passengers 45 Euros (around 48.5 US dollars). The nine extra-legroom seats will have an additional surcharge and will cost people €100 (around 107.9 US dollars) per journey.</p>

<h2><strong>A win-win situation</strong></h2>

<p>Coredon says that the adult-only zone will not only be a win for travellers looking for a quiet environment but would also benefit parents of little children.</p>

<p>A lioness was spotted casually strolling on the streets of Karachi city near a residential apartment in Pakistan on Tuesday, causing panic among local residents.</p>

<p>A video circulating on social media showed people running for cover upon spotting the mammoth feline in Shahrea Faisal area near Aisha Bawany College.</p>

<p>Another video showed the predator attacking a man, who, fortunately, remained unhurt. The clip further showed the big cat attacking other bystanders.&nbsp;</p>

<p>According to the police, the lioness was in fact a pet and had escaped out of its cage while being taken in a loader vehicle for medical treatment.&nbsp;</p>

<p>The authorities faced difficulties while trying to capture the big cat, as it kept on running from them. At one time, it hid under the basement of a commercial building. It took more than an hour for the authorities to tame the lioness and get it back inside the cage and hand it over to the wildlife department.&nbsp;</p>

<p>The police have booked the owner of the pet lion, and the wildlife department intends to take legal action against the resident.&nbsp;</p>

<p>In a first-of-its-kind trial, scientists have found that playing a Mozart lullaby may help reduce the pain experienced by newborn babies&nbsp;undergoing medical procedures. The study involved 100 infants in a randomised, blinded clinical trial and&nbsp;the results were published in&nbsp;<i>Pediatric Research</i>.</p>

<p>A team of scientists from&nbsp;Thomas Jefferson University in Philadelphia worked alongside doctors to conduct the trial on the babies at a community hospital in the Bronx, New York.</p>

<p>During a standard heel prick procedure, before taking the blood, just over half of the infants were subjected to a&nbsp;soothing, instrumental lullaby&nbsp;by the famous musician Mozart for twenty minutes. The other half had the blood taken out in silence. As per the SOP, all infants were given&nbsp;0.5 millilitres of sugar solution two minutes before the heel prick was performed.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Notably, the lullaby played through the heel prick test and continued till five minutes later. The medical professionals who took the blood wore noise-cancelling headphones, so they weren't aware if the music was playing or not. Moreover, the parents weren't allowed to physically cuddle the babies during the trial.&nbsp;</p>

<h2><strong>Findings of the study&nbsp;</strong></h2>

<p>The investigator scored the infants' pain using crying, breathing patterns, facial expressions, limb movement and alertness as indicators. Consequently, the study findings revealed that newborns exposed to Mozart showed "a statistically and clinically significant" reduction in scores on the Neonatal Infant Pain Scale (NIPS), and this was true before, during, and after the heel prick.</p>

<p>"Our study objectively proves reduction in pain scores by using recorded music in a randomised, controlled, blinded study of predominantly non-white, term neonates. Recorded music is effective in reducing acute pain in term neonates and can be widely used even in low-resource nurseries," the study stated.&nbsp;</p>

<p>According to the Ministry of Civil Affairs, only 6.83 million couples completed their marriage registrations in 2022, down about 800,000 from the previous year. The number of marriages last year was nearly half the peak of 13.47 million in 2013.</p>

<p>Official numbers released by the National Bureau of Statistics earlier this year stated that China's population declined by 850,000 between the end of 2021 and 2022. Even for a country as big as China, the number is slightly concerning - for it suggests that there is a slow but steady demographic shift happening.&nbsp;</p>

<p>A Pew Research report has stated that China has 14 per cent population above the age of 65. By 2035, a third of China's population (400 million people) is expected to be above the age of 60. <p>Almost 2,900 years ago, a brickmaker prepared a clay brick that was used in the construction of a new palace dedicated to his King Ashurnasirpal II (approximately 883–859 BCE). All these years later, the scientists at the University of Oxford, using that innocuous brick, have managed to successfully extract ancient DNA from it, revealing details of the flora from this specific area and time, and serving as a time capsule.&nbsp;</p>

<p>The study published in Nature Scientific Reports offers a rare insight into the diversity of plant species during the said era. The scientists found the 'time capsule' near the river Tigris, outside the ancient city of Kalhu, known today as Nimrud in Iran.&nbsp;</p>

<p>"We were absolutely thrilled to discover that ancient DNA, effectively protected from contamination inside a mass of clay, can successfully be extracted from a 2,900-year-old brick," said biologist Sophie Lund Rasmussen from the University of Oxford.</p>

<h2><strong>Swift condemnation from airline</strong></h2>

<p>The video quickly drew condemnation from Swiss International Air Lines' management, who issued a stern statement, making it clear that such behaviour would not be tolerated.</p>

<p>Swiss spokesman Michael Pelzer emphasised the seriousness of the situation, stating that what may appear as harmless fun in the video is, in reality, life-threatening. He pointed out that the wings of a Boeing 777 are about five meters (16.4 feet) high, and a fall from that height onto a hard surface can result in devastating consequences.</p>

<p>Pelzer reiterated that crew members should only step onto an aircraft's wings in the event of a dire emergency, such as evacuations. He strongly criticised the employees' reckless behaviour, describing it as "pie in the sky."</p>

<p>An Italian man is being hailed as a hero and miracle worker after he saved a toddler by catching her after she fell from the fifth floor of a building in central Turin on Saturday (August 26).&nbsp;</p>

<p>Mattia Aguzzi, the 37-year-old banker, was on his way to a bread shop, alongside his girlfriend in the morning when he heard a commotion, with a man yelling for help from the apartment.&nbsp;</p>

<p>“I went out with my girlfriend to buy bread and we heard screams from a building that caught our attention,"&nbsp;Aguzzi was quoted as saying by Sky24.&nbsp;</p>

<p>“I heard a man scream when he saw the little girl leaning out on the ledge. The little girl kept leaning more and more and climbed over the ledge, she held on only with two arms and her legs were in the air,” he said.&nbsp;</p>

<p>The game crossed the 10 million downloads mark on Friday. It celebrated the milestone by offering some in-game items for free.</p>

<p>How to play Pokemon Sleep?</p>

<p>Players can play the game by sleeping with their smartphones closer to their heads. The game then keeps track of the vibrations sensed by the phone's sensors to make an estimate of the sleep quality.</p>

<p>The 'Only Adult' zone will be offered on the flight route between Amsterdam and the Caribbean island of Curaçao. The airline plans to introduce child-free zone from November.</p>

<p>As reported by Euro News, this zone will be located in the front of the plane. This zone will have 93 seats reserved for travellers who are aged 16 and above.</p>

<p>This section will be separated from the other one with walls and curtains. Passengers will reportedly have to pay 45 euros extra one-way if they wish to book a seat in adults-only section. This section will also have nine seats with extra legroom. These seats will cost 100 euros extra.</p>

<p>Atilay Uslu, founder of Corendon said the child-free zone is being established with an aim to “accommodate travellers looking for extra peace during their flight.”</p>

<p>Uslu added that setting up such a zone would also mean that parents of infants would be free from worry that their crying child is disturbing others.</p>

<p>“They can enjoy the fight without worrying if their children make a little noise,” he said.</p>

<p>Corendon Airlines is the first carrier in Europe to take this step, but such plans have already been adopted by some others.<br />

<p>In May 1933, a report in the Inverness Courier newspaper said that a couple e driving along a newly constructed lochside road saw "a tremendous upheaval" in the water. "There, the creature disported itself, rolling and plunging for fully a minute, its body resembling that of a whale, and the water cascading and churning like a simmering cauldron," the report said.</p>

<p>In December same year, the Daily Mail recruited Marmaduke Wetherell, a big game hunter from South Africa to locate the sea serpent.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Wetherell found large footprints that he believed belonged to "a very powerful soft-footed animal about 20 feet long". However, zoologists at London's Natural History Museum determined that the tracks were made with an umbrella stand or ashtray that had a hippopotamus leg as a base.</p>

<p>In 1934, English physician Robert Wilson captured a photograph that seemingly depicted Nessie's head and elongated neck emerging from the water. The photo, which was published in Daily Mail, was later revealed to be part of a hoax.</p>

<p>Over the years, scientists and amateur enthusiasts have tried to find evidence of a large fish living in the depths of the loch. Some have suggested the monster could be a prehistoric marine reptile like a plesiosaur.</p>

<p>Paul Nixon, the general manager of the Loch Ness Centre that this weekend gave "an opportunity to search the waters in a way that has never been done before, and we can't wait to see what we find."</p>

<p>In past years, provincial authorities have raised concerns about the park's water quality. They declared all the marine animals were in distress. In 2021, the province asked the park to improve the water quality for the marine animals. However, Marineland appealed that its animals were not in distress. They also refused any connection between the whale deaths and water conditions. Their website states they prioritise the health and wellbeing of their animals.&nbsp;</p>

<p>The investigation at the provincial level started in January 2020, and Animal Welfare Services inspectors have visited the park at least 160 times.</p>

<p>Marineland has not commented on the health of its animals. According to the reports, they have made several changes to the theme park. They have trimmed the duration of the dolphin and sea lion shows.&nbsp;</p>

<p>According to the staff, there are 37 belugas at the park. Among them, nine male belugas swim in Friendship Cove, and 28 female belugas swim in Arctic Cove.</p>

<p>Four years ago, Marie Holer, the president of Marineland, filed an affidavit with the US National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration. According to the affidavit, there were 54 belugas at the park. The testimony was part of the US import process when Marineland sold five belugas to Mystic Aquarium in Connecticut.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Two of the five belugas moved in 2021 have died, prompting a probe by the US government.</p>

<p>After the passing of its founder, John Holer, in 2018, Marie Holer took over the ownership of Marineland. Earlier this year, the park announced that it was up for sale.</p>

<p>Franz met the little girl and her mother at a grocery store in Jackson Heights. He kidnapped the girl after the mother asked him to keep an eye on her.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Authorities have charged Franz with predatory sexual assault against a child, criminal sexual act in the first degree, kidnapping in the second degree and risking the child's welfare, the New York Post reported.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Kimberly Pijuan, the girl's mother, is facing charges for leaving the child with a man she hardly knew. She reportedly met Franz a few weeks before her daughter's kidnapping. The little girl has confirmed that Franz kidnapped her and sexually assaulted her.</p>
