Mass weddings were held annually in Nigeria's northern state for many years until the previous administration discontinued the practice. The current governor had pledged to revive the ceremony, which was one of his key campaign promises. The Kano state government hosted a mass wedding, joining 1,800 couples in matrimony, mainly widows and divorcees selected from the 44 local government areas of the state.

Morocco earthquake: Video shows moment wedding is interrupted by powerful temblor

Amid reports of a Just Stop Oil protester targeting the wedding of former United Kingdom chancellor George Osborne’s wedding the environmental activist group, on Sunday (July 9), denied that the woman who threw confetti at the newlyweds was a part of their movement. This comes a day after a lady was seen throwing orange confetti as the newlyweds, George Osborne and Thea Rogers emerged from the church.

What was the incident about?

On Saturday, the former Conservative party chancellor Osborne married his former aide at the 14th-century St Mary’s Church in the Somerset village of Bruton, UK. A video which has since gone viral shows the couple walking out of the church and after a few minutes, a woman showered them with orange confetti.

The grey-haired woman in a floral dress and pale-coloured jacket emptied a union jack paper bag of confetti over the newlyweds’ shoulders who, in turn, looked puzzled before a security person approached the woman and she left.

Subsequently, Just Stop Oil reposted the video on Twitter with the message, “You look good in orange George Osborne – congratulations to the newlyweds.”

The video was also followed by a series of tweets with links to articles from the time that Osborne was the chancellor, one of which even said that he didn’t want the UK to be “out there in front of the rest of the world” in its efforts to cut emissions, as quoted by the Guardian.

Osborne added that this was because he wanted to “provide for the country the cheapest energy possible…consistent with us playing our part in an international effort to tackle climate change”.

It added, “If it was a form of protest — which is yet to be established — we applaud it and thank the person concerned. It was peaceful and not especially disruptive, but got massive media attention for Just Stop Oil’s demand.”

How did the ‘wedding crasher’ get there?

According to British media reports, around 200 people, including well-known politicians and journalists, attended the wedding on Saturday afternoon. However, it was not immediately clear who the woman was as she reportedly left as soon as journalists approached her.

Open AI's Chat GPT has learned yet another important life skill, which is to help couples get married. In a rather interesting turn of events, a couple from the US recently used an artificial intelligence tool to officiate their wedding. Chat GPT-powered speaker was stationed between the bride and groom with a robotic mask atop the speaker. Interestingly, the bride's father suggested using Chat GPT as the officiant. As per the report, the couple could have this extraordinary ceremony because their stay does not require a licensed marriage official.

US Supreme Court has ruled in favour of a Christian web designer in Colorado who refused to create websites celebrating same-sex weddings citing religious objections, media reports said. It was a 6-3 decision. Critics who fear a potential reversal of the 2015 ruling legalising same-sex marriage nationwide may find cause for concern in this latest victory for religious conservatives in the high court. Justice Neil Gorsuch was joined by Chief Justice John Roberts and Justices Samuel Alito, Amy Coney Barrett, Brett Kavanaugh, and Clarence Thomas.

Gorsuch further stated that Colorado attempted to "deny that promise," reported CNN.

A woman is being hunted by the police in northern Indian state of Uttar Pradesh after she fired a gun at her own wedding. The bride is on the run. The video of her firing four rounds into the air has gone viral. She can be seen seated next to her husband while firing shots in the air. As per media reports, a case has been filed against the woman and she is on the run. Celebratory gunfire during weddings is common in some parts of northern India. There are numerous cases of injuries or even deaths. Indian law provides for punishment for such celebratory gunfire but the many such incidents occur nonetheless. The Times of India has reported that the video of the bride was recorded by a relative who then put it on social media. BBC reported that the woman was "absconding" after the incident fearing arrest. A court in Lucknow, capital of Uttar Pradesh, had ordered in 2016 that every incident of celebratory gunfire should be investigated irrespective of a case had been filed or not. Just a few days ago, video of another similar incident had gone viral. But this time, it was a sparkle gun. As the bride fired the gun, it backfired on her face.
Former US president Donald Trump's daughter Tiffany Trump married her beau Michael Boulos on Sunday (November 13). The ceremony took place at Mar-a-Lago, a resort in Florida owned by Trump.

Donald Trump escorted Tiffany down the aisle and kissed her on the cheek before she exchanged vows with Michael.

The bride exchanged vows with Michael in front of an altar covered in a halo of blue, pink, and white flowers. She looked stunning in a long-sleeved, beaded wedding gown by Elie Saab.

The wedding ceremony was attended by Ivanka Trump, her husband Jared Kushner, their kids. Donald Trump's wife Melania Trump, Tiffany's mother Marla Maples and half brother Eric Trump were present as well

Although the wedding festivities went smoothly, the planning process was a bit worrying for Tiffany.

According to Page Six, just a few days ago, Tiffany was said to be "flipping out" and worried that Hurricane Nicole would ruin her big day, which is scheduled to take place at Mar-a-Lago on Saturday.

"Friday is supposed to be a welcome dinner and they aren't sure it's going to happen ... Tiffany is flipping out," a source told Page Six on Wednesday.

Page Six reports that others had to change their RSVPs after the Palm Beach International Airport closed and cancelled all flights, despite the fact that some guests were already in town when the hurricane made landfall.

"Tiffany is still there. Some guests came in for the week, and they had all these things planned. It was going to be a whole over-the-top thing," the insider continued.
