<p>The sequel to Vijay Deverakonda’s Kingdom, which was released in 2025, has been officially shelved. The producer of the spy thriller, Naga Vamsi, confirmed the update in a recent interview, putting an end to all the speculations about the franchise’s future following the original film's lukewarm box-office performance.&nbsp;</p><h2>About Kingdom</h2><p>Kingdom, directed by Gowtam Tinnanuri, revolved around Suri (Vijay Deverakonda), a police constable who turns into a spy. Released in theatres in July 2025, the film was designed as the first chapter of the franchise, and it concluded with a cliffhanger. However, its sequel is no longer in line as the film failed to achieve box-office success. &nbsp;</p><p>&nbsp;</p><p><strong>Also Read: </strong><a href="https://www.wionews.com/entertainment/bollywood/ikkis-box-office-collection-how-much-did-dharmendra-agastya-nanda-starrer-earn-on-day-two-1767406989858"><strong>Ikkis BO report: How much did Dharmendra-Agastya Nanda starrer earn on day two?</strong></a></p><h2>Naga Vamsi on Kingdom 2</h2><p>When Naga Vamsi was asked about Kingdom 2 during an interview with Idlebrain, he gave a clear response. "No, we are not making it anymore," he said. "There is no point in talking about what happened because it’ll only hurt Gowtam. There’s nothing more to do now."</p><p>&nbsp;</p><p>Vamsi also stated that shelving Kingdom 2 does not affect his relationship with director Gowtam Tinnanuri. “But yeah, we will collaborate with Gowtam. He is doing a different kind of film now.”</p><p>&nbsp;</p><p><strong>Also Read: </strong><a href="https://www.wionews.com/entertainment/bollywood/ranveer-singh-anushka-sharma-s-band-baaja-baaraat-to-re-release-in-cinemas-on-this-date-1767353296577"><strong>Ranveer-Anushka's Band Baaja Baaraat to re-release in cinemas on THIS date</strong></a></p>

<h2>Did Kingdom affect Deverakonda?</h2><p>Kingdom was a crucial film for Deverakonda as the actor was expecting a major hit after the box-office disappointment following Liger (2022). After the lukewarm box-office performance of Vijay Deverakonda’s Kingdom, the sequel has been officially shelved. The actor is currently gearing up for Ravi Kiran Kola's Rowdy Janardhana.

The sequel to Vijay Deverakonda’s Kingdom, which was released in 2025, has been officially shelved. The producer of the spy thriller, Naga Vamsi, confirmed the update in a recent interview, putting an end to all the speculations about the franchise’s future following the original film's lukewarm box-office performance. About Kingdom Kingdom, directed by Gowtam Tinnanuri, revolved around Suri (Vijay Deverakonda), a police constable who turns into a spy. Released in theatres in July 2025, the film was designed as the first chapter of the franchise, and it concluded with a cliffhanger. However, its sequel is no longer in line as the film failed to achieve box-office success. Also Read: Ikkis BO report: How much did Dharmendra-Agastya Nanda starrer earn on day two? Naga Vamsi on Kingdom 2 When Naga Vamsi was asked about Kingdom 2 during an interview with Idlebrain, he gave a clear response. "No, we are not making it anymore," he said. "There is no point in talking about what happened because it’ll only hurt Gowtam. There’s nothing more to do now." Vamsi also stated that shelving Kingdom 2 does not affect his relationship with director Gowtam Tinnanuri. “But yeah, we will collaborate with Gowtam. He is doing a different kind of film now.” Also Read: Ranveer-Anushka's Band Baaja Baaraat to re-release in cinemas on THIS date

Vijay Deverakonda has confirmed that he is not single. During a recent interaction on a chat show, the actor commented that he was committed, even though he did not mention the name of his lady love. Ever since Vijay Deverakonda and Rashmika Mandanna featured in Geetha Govindam in 2018, speculations have been rife about their offscreen romance. Fans have loved their onscreen chemistry, and the duo subsequently featured in Dear Comrade (2019) as well. Fans have believed that the two have been dating for a while, even though the two have never confirmed the news. Fans got excited when during the promotions of Animal (2023), Vijay said, ‘What’s up re’ during a phone call with Rashmika on a chat show. The call convinced fans that they were a couple. Vijay is currently busy on a promotional spree for his latest music video, Sahiba, helmed by Jasleen Royal and co-starring Bollywood actor Radhikka Madan. During a chat with Curly Tales, he was quoted saying, “I am 35 years old. You think I will be single?” Vijay also talked about love and its meaning to him. The actor shared, “I know what it feels like to be loved, and I know what it is to love. I don't know unconditional love because my love comes with expectations, so clearly my love isn't unconditional. I feel everything is over-romanticised.” While Vijay did not mention who he is dating, fans went on an overdrive on social media, assuming that the actor was talking about Rashmika. One such internet user said, “Finally it happened, I knew that these two will get married, after all these people are the best couple. ...... But I really like Rashmika Mandana.” Another hopeful fan predicted, “Shadi hogi inki bhot jldi (they will get married soon),” whereas another comment read, “Geetha govindam movie time se Humko Pata Hai aur kuchh naya hai. (We know from the time of Geetha Govindam, its not new)” While Vijay has not confirmed his relationship with Rashmika, his recent admission about his relationship status may just break a few hearts. Rashmika, meanwhile, is awaiting the release of Pushpa 2 where she is paired opposite Allu Arjun and will reprise the character of Srivalli once again.

<p>Vijay&nbsp;Deverakonda&nbsp;is not very fond of keeping his awards, and this was&nbsp;proved after his recent comment that has taken the internet by storm. In Indian cinema, the Filmfare award is one of the most prestigious awards for an actor or a person part of this showbiz world. However, for Vijay Deverakonda it's just a piece of stone, and he would prefer a big&nbsp;chunk of money over it.</p>

<p>Deverakonda, who is predominantly known for his work in the south Indian industry, is currently gearing up for the release of his movie <em>Family Star</em> co-starring Mrinal Thakur. While promoting his recent movie, Vijay shocked everyone as he went on to reveal that he had auctioned his first Filmfare trophy.&nbsp;</p>

<p>During his interview with Galatta Plus, the actor shared that he's not much into ''certificates and awards.''</p>

<p>“I am not so much into certificates and awards. Some might be at the office, some my mom has kept somewhere. Some awards I gave away… one award I gave away to Sandeep Reddy Vanga,'' he said.&nbsp;</p>

<p>The actor further revealed that he had auctioned his first Filmfare award that he won for his breakthrough performance in Sandeep Reddy Vanga's <em>Arjun Reddy.&nbsp;</em></p>

<p>Saying that the money is way nicer than a piece of stone, he said, ''We auctioned the first Filmfare Best Actor award that I got. We auctioned it and got a good chunk of money that we gave away. I think that’s a nicer memory for me than a piece of stone in my house.”</p>

<p>If reports are to be believed, the Telugu actor sold his first prestigious Filmfare award for Rs 25 lakh in 2018 and gave the money to the CM Relief Fund.&nbsp;</p>

<p>In the same interview, the actor also reflected on playing the varied roles in his movie.&nbsp;</p>

<p>''When I select a script, it can’t be niche. My films take a lot of time and usually are made in a span of one to one-and-a-half years. Family Star is the only film that was completed within nine months. So if I come up with a niche film, my audience, who has been eagerly waiting for my film to release, will be disappointed.”<br />
&nbsp;<br />
“I am in that age group where young people connect with me as well as the older age group who come to see my films with their kids. I need to entertain all of them. I know I am restricting myself but I won’t make choices that are either too dark or too niche. I heard a bunch of scripts that were too dark,” he added.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Vijay will next be seen in Parasuram Petla’s <em>Family Star</em>, which will be released on April 5.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Two of Sandeep Reddy Vanga's most popular characters, Kabir Singh and Arjun Reddy recently met up at an event in Mumbai. Actors Shahid Kapoor and Vijay Deverakonda shared a sweet moment on stage at the recent Prime Video event in Mumbai on Tuesday (Mar 19).&nbsp;<br />
<br />
Shahid thanked Vijay on stage and candidly mentioned&nbsp;that without <em>Arjun Reddy</em> there would be no <em>Kabir Singh.&nbsp;</em><br />
<br />
Sandeep Reddy Vanga directed Vijay in the Telugu film <em>Arjun Reddy.</em> The director then remade it in Hindi and cast Shahid Kapoor as <em>Kabir Singh</em>. Both films were box office successes.<br />
<br />
<strong>What Shahid said to Vijay</strong><br />
<br />
Shahid was hosting a segment at the Prime Video Presents event and called Vijay Deverakonda and Mrunal Thakur on stage to announce their upcoming film <em>Family Star.</em> As Vijay walked in, Shahid hugged him and kept his head on Vijay's shoulder and said, "I have to give him a lot of love. <em>Naa Arjun Reddy bani hoti, naa Kabir Singh paida hota</em> (If Arjun Reddy was not made then Kabir Singh would not be born). Thank you, Vijay!” Shahid then planted a kiss on Vijay's cheeks.</p>

Two of Sandeep Reddy Vanga's most popular characters, Kabir Singh and Arjun Reddy recently met up at an event in Mumbai. Actors Shahid Kapoor and Vijay Deverakonda shared a sweet moment on stage at the recent Prime Video event in Mumbai on Tuesday (Mar 19). Shahid thanked Vijay on stage and candidly mentioned that without Arjun Reddy there would be no Kabir Singh. Sandeep Reddy Vanga directed Vijay in the Telugu film Arjun Reddy. The director then remade it in Hindi and cast Shahid Kapoor as Kabir Singh. Both films were box office successes. What Shahid said to Vijay Shahid was hosting a segment at the Prime Video Presents event and called Vijay Deverakonda and Mrunal Thakur on stage to announce their upcoming film Family Star. As Vijay walked in, Shahid hugged him and kept his head on Vijay's shoulder and said, "I have to give him a lot of love. Naa Arjun Reddy bani hoti, naa Kabir Singh paida hota (If Arjun Reddy was not made then Kabir Singh would not be born). Thank you, Vijay!” Shahid then planted a kiss on Vijay's cheeks.
