President Trump claimed he cut ties with Jeffrey Epstein after Epstein poached Mar-a-Lago spa staff, including Virginia Giuffre. Trump said he warned Epstein, then ended their relationship after repeated incidents.

US President Donald Trump has claimed he fell out with Jeffrey Epstein after the disgraced financier poached workers from his Mar-a-Lago spa, including Virginia Giuffre, the woman at the centre of the sex abuse case involving Prince Andrew. Trump: ‘He stole her’ from Mar-a-Lago spa Speaking to reporters aboard Air Force One while returning from Scotland, Trump gave one of his most detailed explanations yet about his past ties with Epstein, who died in jail in 2019 while awaiting trial on charges of trafficking underage girls. And I said, ‘Out of here.’” Trump confirmed that one of the spa workers hired by Epstein was Virginia Giuffre, who accused Prince Andrew of sexually assaulting her when she was 17. “I think she worked at the spa. I think that was one of the people. He stole her,” Trump said. Giuffre died by suicide earlier this year at her home in Australia. ‘Ten days from today’: Trump, ‘disappointed’ in Putin, issues fresh ULTIMATUM to Russia to end Ukraine war or face sanctions

The United States President Donald Trump is pressuring Russian President Vladimir Putin for immediate peace in Ukraine, but the latter doesn't seem to be interested, and according to an expert, he might be preparing to invade another country. Trump initially set a 50-day timeline for Putin to enter negotiations, although on Monday (28 July), he changed it to "10 or 12 days". He has warned that if Putin doesn't take the necessary steps, Russia risks facing sanctions. The Ukraine war has been going on since February 2022, with no end in sight. Trump is growing increasingly frustrated with Putin for not taking steps to end the situation. Meanwhile, US intelligence expert Rebekah Koffler wrote in The Telegraph, "As a military intelligence analyst specialising in Putin’s thinking and Russian military strategy, I agree with Rutte’s assessment about Russia’s readiness for another offensive military campaign in just a few years." She added that it is unlikely to be a European country, and Putin might attack a post-Soviet state. "I’m less convinced that a NATO country is likely to be the Kremlin’s next target, unless the alliance directly intervenes in Ukraine by deploying troops onto the battlefield."
The American president said he was "very disappointed" by his Russian counterpart. "I'm going to reduce that 50 days that I gave him to a lesser number, because I think I already know the answer to what's going to happen," Trump said. He added that the new deadline for Putin is 10-12 days from July 28. This came after Russia and Ukraine met on July 23 in Istanbul for a third round of peace talks. The previous two rounds did not yield the desired results.

Reacting to Trump's statement, Ukraine praised him as the Ukrainian presidential aide Andriy Yermak said on social media, "Thanks to President Trump for standing firm and delivering a clear message of peace through strength." "When America leads with strength, others think twice," the statement added.

A ceasefire in the Israel-Hamas war?

The American president also talked about the ongoing Israel-Hamas war in Gaza and said that the Palestinian militant group was unlikely to release the remaining 20 Israeli hostages. "That's like their shield," Trump said.

He further said that a ceasefire might be possible in the war. He said he has told the Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to approach the ongoing conflict in a "different way."

Moreover, the US president continued crediting himself for the ceasefire negotiation in previous wars - like the India-Pakistan conflict, as he said if he was not around, there would be "six major wars going on."

‘Those children look very hungry’

Trump, who was in Scotland for a trade deal with the EU, met the British Prime Minister Keir Starmer on July 28. When he was asked if he agreed with Netanyahu's claim that there was no starvation in Gaza, Trump said, “I mean, based on television, I would say not particularly because those children look very hungry.”

Starmer intervened and added, "It's a humanitarian crisis. It's an absolute catastrophe. I think people in Britain are revolted in seeing what they're seeing on their screens."

Trump alleged that Beyonce was paid $11 million to support Harris but never performed during a campaign event, leaving the stage to “a booing and angry audience.” He further claimed that Oprah Winfrey received $3 million in “expenses” and Reverend Al Sharpton was paid $600,000, despite doing “absolutely NOTHING.” However, Trump showed no proof that the Democratic campaign paid them to endorse him.

In the past, Oprah denied receiving any payment for endorsing Harris, saying her team covered production costs for a live-streamed event, which totaled around $1 million. “The people who worked on that production needed to be paid.
Trump on his Truth Social wrote, “I’m looking at the large amount of money owed by the Democrats, after the Presidential Election, and the fact that they admit to paying, probably illegally, Eleven Million Dollars to singer Beyoncé for an ENDORSEMENT (she never sang, not one note, and left the stage to a booing and angry audience!), Three Million Dollars for “expenses,” to Oprah, Six Hundred Thousand Dollars to very low rated TV “anchor,” Al Sharpton (a total lightweight!), and others to be named for doing, absolutely NOTHING! These ridiculous fees were incorrectly stated in the books and records. YOU ARE NOT ALLOWED TO PAY FOR AN ENDORSEMENT. IT IS TOTALLY ILLEGAL TO DO SO. Can you imagine what would happen if politicians started paying for people to endorse them. All hell would break out! Kamala, and all of those that received Endorsement money, BROKE THE LAW. They should all be prosecuted! Thank you for your attention to this matter.”

The accusations come as Trump faces criticism over his own handling of the Jeffrey Epstein case. He previously threatened to sue several networks for what he called biased coverage, only to later strike lucrative settlement deals with ABC News and CBS News.

In a further twist, Trump has reportedly instructed Attorney General Pam Bondi to release grand jury testimony involving Epstein and Ghislaine Maxwell, a move likely to stir additional legal and political debate.

In a surprising incident, a bright red sculpture of US President Donald Trump appeared at a busy Manhattan intersection on the morning of July 23. In the life-size sculpture made of resin, the president’s waist-up body seemed to be climbing out of a manhole. The artwork, titled “Donald”, was secretly installed by French artist James Colomina.

The statue featured Trump wearing a suit and tie, looking upward with a serious expression and pursed lips. Under the manhole cover beside the president, a small red rat peeked outside.

Colomina, who is known for his provocative red sculptures placed in public spaces, told USA Today, “I installed the sculpture in New York because this is where he built his image, his empire, his legend. A city he tried to conquer with golden towers and brutal slogans. I wanted this image – a red body rising from the sewers – to disturb that landscape.”

“Make America Grime Again,” Colomina wrote while posting images of the sculpture to his Instagram. He added that it took three weeks to create the sculpture at his studio in France. It was disassembled, transported to New York and was later reassembled on site around 7 am local time.

Or perhaps art school.”

Who is James Colomina?

Known for his bright red, life-sized sculptures, Colomina is a street artist from France. His artwork has appeared in Tokyo, Barcelona, Paris, and many other cities. According to his biography on the Galeries Bartoux website, “James Colomina favors a clandestine, spontaneous approach: He places his works directly in the street, without prior announcement, transforming everyday spaces into platforms for artistic reflection.”

The sculpture was placed in front of The News Building, at the corner of East 42nd Street and 2nd Avenue in Midtown Manhattan. Colomina said that the placement of the statue was deliberate.

I wanted this image – a red body rising from the sewers – to disturb that landscape.” “Make America Grime Again,” Colomina wrote while posting images of the sculpture to his Instagram. He added that it took three weeks to create the sculpture at his studio in France. It was disassembled, transported to New York and was later reassembled on site around 7 am local time.

However, he said there were still "sticking points" with Brussels on "maybe 20 different things." Before he left Washington, Trump said his administration was working hard on a possible trade deal with the EU, and Brussels was keen to make a deal. The trip to Scotland puts physical distance between Trump and the latest twists in the case of convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein, the wealthy financier accused of sex trafficking who died in prison in 2019 before facing trial.

US President Donald Trump travels to Scotland on Friday for a mix of diplomacy, business and leisure, as he stays at family-owned golf resorts. The president is expected to split his time between two seaside golf courses bearing his name, Turnberry and Aberdeen. Trump is due to arrive in Scotland Friday at 8:20 pm local time (1920 GMT) and has no public events scheduled for Saturday or Sunday, the White House said. An avid golfer, Trump is expected to tear himself away from the greens to meet with British Prime Minister Keir Starmer at some point, but details of that meeting have not been released. Starmer is not reputed to be as passionate about golf as the 79-year-old Republican, and may have other concerns to tee off on. The US and the UK announced a trade agreement in May, but London is worried about Trump's stated intention to "refine" the deal. The British leader, who has dodged the exorbitant tariffs other countries have been saddled with, will aim to stay in the good graces of the unpredictable American leader. Trump is also expected to return to the UK in September for a state visit -- his second -- at the invitation of King Charles III, which promises to be lavish. Trumpist discontent The trip to Scotland puts physical distance between Trump and the latest twists in the case of convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein, the wealthy financier accused of sex trafficking who died in prison in 2019 before facing trial. In his heyday, Epstein was friends with Trump and others in the New York jet-set, but the president is now facing backlash from his own MAGA supporters who demand access to the Epstein case files. Many support a conspiracy theory under which "deep state" elites protected rich and famous people who took part in an Epstein sex ring. But Trump is urging his supporters to move on and drop the case. The Wall Street Journal, which published an article detailing longstanding links between Trump and the sex offender, is being punished by the White House. Its reporting staff plans to travel to Scotland on its own and join the White House press pool. But it has now been denied a seat on Air Force One for the flight back home. Protests During a previous visit in 2023, Trump said he felt at home in Scotland, where his mother Mary Anne MacLeod grew up before emigrating to the United States at age 18. The affection is not necessarily mutual in Scotland, where protests are planned Saturday in Edinburgh and Aberdeen to oppose his visit. A significant police presence will be deployed. Residents, environmentalists and elected officials have also voiced discontent over the Trump family's construction of a golf course in Balmedie, a village in Aberdeenshire. While Trump's family has undertaken many development projects worldwide, the president no longer legally controls the family holdings. But opponents and watchdog groups have accused him of many conflicts of interest and using his position as US president to promote private family investments, especially abroad. The American NGO Citizens for Responsibility and Ethics in Washington said in May that 21 development projects were already underway abroad during Trump's second term. The group also noted that the Trump Organization revised its own ethical charter in January to remove any prohibition from launching new international ventures with private actors, departing from the moratorium it had imposed during Trump's first term.
France to recognise State of Palestine

In a big diplomatic move, French President Emmanuel Macron announced that France will recognise the state of Palestine at the the United Nations General Assembly in September this year. In a letter to Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas, Macron emphasised the urgency of ending the war in Gaza and protecting civilians, describing his decision as a crucial step toward achieving lasting peace in the Middle East. Macron also reaffirmed France’s support for an immediate ceasefire, the release of Israeli hostages, the delivery of humanitarian aid to Gaza, the disarmament of Hamas, and long-term development efforts for a future Palestinian state. The announcement was met with strong condemnation from Israeli officials. France would join list of 147 of the 193 UN member states that have recognised Palestine. It represents 75 percent of the international community.

How Israel reacted?

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu stated that France's move would reward terrorism and could lead to the creation of another Iranian proxy, similar to what happened in Gaza. He warned that, under the current conditions, a Palestinian state would serve as a platform for attacking Israel rather than coexisting peacefully. Israeli Defence Minister Israel Katz described the decision as disgraceful and claimed it amounted to a surrender to terrorism. Meanwhile, far-right Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich went even further, calling on Israel to respond by formally annexing the West Bank.

How Hamas reacted?

Hamas welcomed French President Macron’s announcement, describing it as a positive step toward justice for the Palestinian people and support for their legitimate right to self-determination. In a statement, the group urged all countries, particularly European nations and those that have yet to recognise Palestine, to follow France’s example. “We consider this a positive step in the right direction toward doing justice to our oppressed Palestinian people and supporting their legitimate right to self-determination,” Hamas said in a statement, after French President Emmanuel Macron’s announcement that France would formally state its recognition in September. “We call on all countries of the world — especially European nations and those that have not yet recognised the State of Palestine — to follow France’s lead,” Hamas added.

In recent weeks, the administration has accused Powell of “grossly” mismanaging the Fed renovation and possibly misleading Congress about cost-cutting plans. The Fed has argued that it was not required to notify the National Capital Planning Commission about project changes. An official countered that the Fed “should have consulted” the NCPC. Powell has since written to senators Tim Scott and Elizabeth Warren to confirm that the central bank’s inspector-general will review the budget issues. Are federal projects often over budget? Yes. A 2018 Government Accountability Office report found that more than two-thirds of major federal projects went over budget between 2014 and 2018. The FBI’s 1974 headquarters cost double its original budget, while the Ronald Reagan Building ended up costing more than $800 million, far more than the $362 million originally planned. In 2021, the US General Services Administration found that only one other project had higher final costs than the Fed’s, Puerto Rico’s Federico Degetau Federal Building. The Fed notes that the Eccles Building, opened in 1937, has not had major modernisation since. Its second building, added in 2018, had sat empty for years. Powell explained in a letter to Vought that the project includes asbestos and lead removal, as well as major plumbing and structural upgrades. However, the Fed has not yet given a full itemised breakdown of where the money is going.

Trump administration officials are set to visit the Federal Reserve this week to investigate its $2.5 billion renovation plan, calling the spending “outrageous” and symbolic of broader issues under Fed Chair Jay Powell.
