Roe vs Wade Overturned: Celebrities call it a 'devastating news' as Supreme Court ends abortion rights

In recent years, OTT space's favourite genre has been the physio-crime thrillers and why not, people love suspense, which keeps them hooked from the first to the last scene. This Friday, we are treated with Vikrant Massey and Radhika Apte starrer crime thriller 'Forensic'.
Directed by Vishal Furia, the new movie is a Hindi remake of the critically acclaimed Malayalam movie of the same name. Does Vishal deliver the same quality that arouses excitement in every frame? To a great extent, yes! Still, there are a few loopholes in the film that curbs the film's true potential.

Like many other thrillers, this film is too set in a hilly area - contained with forest, beautiful landscapes that turn creepy under the moonlight, marshland, caves and the foggy atmosphere - altogether it helps makers to make the suspense thriller eerier.

Starring two powerhouses of talent, Vikram Massey, playing the role of forensic officer Johnny Khanna and Radhika Apte, playing the role of an inspector, the film has both of them delivered to their roles. They are given a task to identify the psycho killer roaming in the city and killing young girls.

The plot starts with ex-lovers Vikrant and Radhika, who have had a troubled past coming together for a case. This time around they are assigned to find the killer, who is stabbing the little girls on their birthdays. Being a suspense thriller lover, we know, the killer is always in front of our eyes but how well they camaflouged makes the thriller interesting. In the case of 'Forensic' writers Adhir Bhat and Ajit Jagtap do a fabulous job in keeping the suspense intact.

The lead pair- Vikrant and Radhika, have both carved a niche in the industry in a very short period, and in 'Forensic' they lead the story with their performances. The young actors Harbandana Kaur and Nikhil Chawla are worthy of praise for their performance as well. Kaur has well played the role of a girl who is dealing with his childhood trauma, and Chawla impresses despite limited screen time. Prachi Desai is also a pivotal part of the film and is good as child psychiatrist Dr Ranjana.

The film is intriguing yet simple and easy to watch, but the story and way of presentation are slightly conventional. The story doesn't demand viewers' much time but also doesn't offer anything new and at some points, the film also looks slightly juvenile especially when Vikrant's character is doing his research to find the culprit or in the climax when the killer is finally revealed.

Makers try to deliver a strong message on child abuse, and past trauma in a simple way. The cast is perfect, and the writing and the screenplay is good.
The movie is streaming on Zee5.

It’s so easy to fall in love with the hero… He is sweet, charming, good looking and always ready to help! But has it ever happened that you watched a series and realised your love for the grey character is more than the hero? It has, hasn’t it? Their roles and characters are so well established, that it leaves a mark on you. Here are four such grey characters you will remember for years to come. Have a look!

Jaideep Ahlawat - The Broken News

Dipankar Sanyal (Jaideep Ahlawat) is a passionate but TRP-hungry anchor. He believes its important to be at the top of the TRP game. A flawed man, Dipankar does not care about the facts but comes with a goal of persuading his audience to believe what he wants to convey, regardless of news being accurate or not. He is cunning but powerful. His screen presence will have you in awe of him. The series is available exclusively on ZEE5.

Nawazuddin Siddiqui - Sacred Games

Ganesh Gaitonde (Nawazuddin Siddiqui) is an Indian gangster who, together with Sartaj Singh, is the show's protagonist. He was Suleiman Isa's rival don. Gaitonde believes that a poor beggar's son can emerge from the slums of Mumbai and build an empire. Sartaj is put in a race against time to preserve Mumbai by Gaitonde. Watch the two in the series which is available on Netflix.

Bobby Deol - Love Hostel

Honour killing has been the subject of several movies and shows but getting an actor like Bobby Deol as part of the script is a rare scenario. Bobby Deol portrays the role of – Dagar who calls himself – Rakhwala. A hit man was hired to assassinate Jyoti (Sanya) and Ashu (Vikrant), who has gone missing. A unique character portrayal by Bobby Deol, persuades the audience with his performance. ZEE5 is the only place where you can watch this series.

Amruta Subhash – Dhamaka

Dhamaka is a film starring Amruta Subhash, Kartik Aaryan, and Mrunal Thakkur. Amruta Subhash portrays the boss, a hard nosed, merciless media vulture, with distinctive sass. She'll go to any length to get the TRPs going. Dhamaka is one of Netflix India's most current and hard-hitting films. There are numerous reasons why it should be viewed.

American band The Chicks end their concert in just 30 minutes, fans shocked

South star Sai Pallavi recently stirred up a controversy over her comments on the 1990s exodus of Kashmiri Pandits. Pallavi faced a major backlash after her interview went viral in which she talked about her political views and later compared Kashmiri Pandit's genocide after she watched the movie 'The Kashmir Files' to the lynching of a man suspected of cow smuggling.

After her video went viral, the actress received huge flak from some netizens. Now, Pallavi has finally reacted to all the furore in the digital world.
On Saturday, giving her clarification, Pallavi shared a video on her Instagram account and stated that violence in any form is wrong and violence in the name of religion is a huge sin.

And the oppressed need to be protected at any cost,” the actor said.
Further, Sai added that in the interview she shared two incidents that had a huge impact on her and left her traumatised for days, and went on to say that he met with the Kashmir files director and told him how deeply she was impacted by the film.''

In the video, she also mentioned how it was very disturbing to see online how many people were justifying the mob lynching incidents. ''I don't think any one of us has the right to take anyone's life,'' Pallavi says.

This all started after her interview with the Youtube channel went viral. During the interview, Pallavi was asked whether she was influenced by any kind of politics during her college days, to which she replied she comes from a very politically neutral family and later compared the recently released movie 'The Kashmir Files' with the Muslim person who was killed on suspicion cow smuggling.

In addition to a strong line-up of original shows and movies, ZEE5 has been consistently bolstering its portfolio by acquiring World Digital Premiere rights of many theatrical releases including RRR, The Kashmir Files, Valimai, Antim, Jhund, Attack, and others. Dhaakad is yet another strong addition to the list as it will help appeal to distinct viewers with varied choices.

Directed by Razneesh Ghai, 'Dhaakad' is a spy thriller with Kangana in lead and Arjun Rampal, Divya Dutta and Saswata Chatterjee in supporting roles. Shot by Japanese cinematographer Tetsuo Nagata (La Vie en rose), Dhaakad is truly international in scale and style as the action sequences are designed by an international crew. With blood, action, gunshots and characters with their own set of eccentricities, Dhaakad is a bold movie with a fierce, feisty and fearless Kangana in lead.

'Dhaakad' revolves around Agni (Kangana), a special agent with the International Task Force, who is assigned the mission to eliminate an international human and arms trafficker Rudraveer (Arjun Rampal), who is also running a coal mafia. During this battle, her tragic childhood past comes in the forefront more often than she would want and she unearths rather shocking truths about her tragedy, one of which is even linked to Rudraveer.

Manish Kalra, Chief Business Officer said, “We have been consistently curating a diverse portfolio with quality content across genres and are happy to add another action-film to the slate as this genre appeals to all. Dhaakad is a must-watch film for all action lovers. Apart from having an international crew choreographing its action sequences, the movie has a fierce Kangana in top form. It is also a trendsetting film with a lot of potential, and we are elated to have partnered with the producers to give Dhaakad a global audience”.

Producer Deepak Mukut said, “Dhaakad is a film that’s very close to all of our hearts. Usually action films are associated with the male actors in our industry, but here we made a film that redefines the action genre for actresses in Indian films and we are really proud of it. We wanted the vibe and feel to be at par with the well-known international action movies and we were successful in achieving that. The action pieces were appreciated on the big screen and now that the film is releasing digitally, we are sure more people will laud our attempt. Kangana delivered a superlative performance in Dhaakad, paving a new path for female-led action films. I am so glad that the film is now reaching out to wider audiences through ZEE5. Dhaakad is
a fruit of our labour, and we are extremely proud to present it to the audiences worldwide through this platform”.

Kangana Ranaut said, “Dhaakad was an intense film which required a lot of physical and emotional transformation. Indian films can be of international standards and can have female action heroes in the lead. Get ready to watch me as a killing machine only on ZEE5 from 1st July”.
