<p>Taylor Swift said on Monday that her master recordings had been sold off to a private equity company, denying her the chance to buy back the tapes herself and resume control over the rights to her first six albums.</p>

<p>“This was the second time my music had been sold without my knowledge,” the 30-year-old singer wrote in a Twitter posting.</p>

<p>Swift also said she had begun re-recording her early songs and that it had “proven to be exciting and fulfilling.”</p>

<p>Swift’s comments followed a long-running feud with her former record company, Big Machine Group, and with music executive Scooter Braun over the rights to some of her biggest hits, including ‘Shake It Off’ and ‘You Belong to Me.’</p>

<p>Braun bought the Big Machine record label in 2019 after Swift left the label in 2018 for a new deal with Universal Music Group. Braun and the pop star have been involved in a bitter public dispute ever since.</p>

<p>Swift, a 10-time Grammy winner, wrote on Monday that she received a letter a few weeks ago from private equity company Shamrock Holdings “letting us know that they had brought 100% of my music, videos and album art from Scooter Braun.”</p>

<p>She added that under the terms of the sale, Braun “will continue to profit off my old music catalog for many years.”</p>

<p>Braun did not immediately respond to a request for comment. Hollywood trade outlet Variety reported on Monday that Braun had sold the master rights to Swift’s first six albums to an investment fund in a deal believed to be worth more than $300 million.</p>

<p>American singer-songwriter Taylor Swift's 'Folklore'&nbsp;album returns to No. 1 on the Billboard 200 chart for an eighth non-consecutive week (on the chart dated October 31), it also becomes the first album to sell a million copies in the US in 2020.<br />

According to Billboard, with another 57,000 copies sold in the US in the tracking week ending October 22 (according to Nielsen Music/MRC Data), `Folklore`s` total album sales jump past 1 million (to 1.038 million), making it the first album to sell a million copies in 2020. It`s also the first album released in 2020 to sell a million.<br />

Released on July 24, 'Folklore'&nbsp;debuted atop the August 8-dated Billboard 200. Swift`s last album, 'Lover', released on August 23, 2019, was the only album to sell a million in the US in 2019. Last week, Trump stated that he would not be releasing any money for the Postal agency which has been cash-starved for a long time.<br />

Later, while speaking to Fox News, Trump had said that he would offer the US $25 billion for the US Postal Services, including $3.5 billion in election resources only if Democrats were willing to listen on some of the demands Trump has voiced.<br />

“Sure, if they give us what we want,” the president said during a press conference. “And it's not what I want, it's what the American people want.”<br />
<br />
Trump has criticized mail-in voting for months. On Thursday, he blamed Democrats for holding up a deal on the coronavirus relief package.<br />

“The items are the post office and the $3.5 billion for mail-in voting,” Trump said at the conference. “If we don’t make the deal, that means can’t have the money, that means they can’t have universal mail-in voting. It just can’t happen.”<br />

Watch the video here: The video was written and directed by Swift herself, and created with the help of cinematographer Rodrigo Prieto. The album is the Swift's first album since, 2019 'Lover' album. The 16 track album was created in the pandemic by the singer. "In isolation, my imagination has run wild and this album is the result, a collection of songs and stories that flowed like a stream of consciousness," she wrote of the album. "Picking up a pen was my way of escaping into fantasy, history and memory."
