<p>'Cats' composer Andrew Lloyd Webber calls the movie version 'ridiculous'<br />
Renowned music composer Andrew Llyod Webber has opened up in an interview to UK's Sunday Times about 2019 film 'Cats' and termed it as 'ridiculous'. The film was based on a famous Broadway musical which had Webber as its composer.<br />
<br />
“The problem with the film was that Tom Hooper decided that he didn’t want anybody involved in it who was involved in the original show,” Webber said referring to the director of the film. “The whole thing was ridiculous.”<br />
<br />
The film starred Taylor Swift, Idris Elba, James Corden, Judi Dench, Jennifer Hudson, Rebel Wilson and Ian McKellen and released in December 2019. The film was universally panned by the critics and audience alike.<br />
<br />
Webber criticised not only the physical appearance of the characters but had issues with some of the film’s portrayals — including that of Corden’s Bustopher Jones.<br />
<br />
Referencing TS Eliot’s poetry collection 'Old Possum’s Book of Practical Cats,' on which Cats was based, Webber said Corden’s performance was “absolutely un-Eliot.”<br />
<br />
Webber was in fact at the 'Cats' film premiere in New York in December and in remarks before the movie said it was “so much (Hooper’s) vision.”<br />
<br />
Webber also spoke about how pandemic had impacted the theatre industry. Before COVID-19 hit, his production of Cinderella was set to premiere in August at London’s Gillian Lynne Theatre. It has since been postponed to April 2021.“The big issue now is, do I push the button? We moved it back to next year, but we still don’t know if we’re going to be able to open then," Webber admitted.</p>

And that thing is my 8th studio album, folklore. Surprise 🤗Tonight at midnight I’ll be releasing my entire brand new album of songs I’ve poured all of my whims, dreams, fears, and musings into. I wrote and recorded this music in isolation but got to collaborate with some musical heroes of mine; @aarondessner (who has co-written or produced 11 of the 16 songs), @boniver (who co-wrote and was kind enough to sing on one with me), William Bowery (who co-wrote two with me) and @jackantonoff (who is basically musical family at this point). Engineered by Laura Sisk and Jon Low, mixed by Serban Ghenea &amp; Jon Low. The album photos were shot by the amazing @bethgarrabrant. Before this year I probably would’ve overthought when to release this music at the ‘perfect’ time, but the times we’re living in keep reminding me that nothing is guaranteed. My gut is telling me that if you make something you love, you should just put it out into the world. That’s the side of uncertainty I can get on board with. Love you guys so much ♥️</a></p>

Taylor Swift has something super up her sleeve as she is set to release her new album tonight. She recorded a whole new album titled ‘Folklore’ as she kept to herself during the time of quarantine amid the coronavirus outbreak. Announcing the surprise album on Instagram, Taylor Swift said, "Most of the things I had planned this summer didn’t end up happening, but there is something I hadn’t planned on that DID happen.” "And that thing is my 8th studio album, folklore. Surprise Tonight at midnight I’ll be releasing my entire brand new album of songs I’ve poured all of my whims, dreams, fears, and musings into. I wrote and recorded this music in isolation but got to collaborate with some musical heroes of mine,” she continued. Engineered by Laura Sisk and Jon Low, mixed by Serban Ghenea & Jon Low. The album photos were shot by the amazing @bethgarrabrant. Fans of singer-songwriter Taylor Swift have a reason to rejoice as the musician on Thursday announced a surprise new album `Folklore` which is set to be her eighth studio album. The `You Belong With Me` singer took to social media to drop the first look of her upcoming album and made the grand announcement with a long note on the album. The Grammy-winning musician began the announcement by stating most of the things that she had planned for the summer "didn't happen," except for the album which she will be dropping in 'tonight at midnight.' View this post on Instagram The music video for “cardigan” will premiere tonight, which I wrote/directed. A million thank you’s to my brilliant, bad ass video team - cinematographer Rodrigo Prieto, producer Jil Hardin, executive producer Rebecca Skinner, AD Joe ‘Oz’ Osbourne, editor Chancler Haynes, special effects wizards David Lebensfeld & Grant Miller, and set designer Ethan Tobman. The entire shoot was overseen by a medical inspector, everyone wore masks, stayed away from each other, and I even did my own hair, makeup, and styling 😂 A post shared by Taylor Swift (@taylorswift) on Jul 23, 2020 at 5:08am PDT × "Surprise Tonight at midnight I'll be releasing my entire brand new album of songs I've poured all of my whims, dreams, fears, and musings into," she wrote. Katy Perry reacts to rumours of being related to Taylor Swift

<p>Justin Timberlake is the latest celebrity to demand the removal of confederate statues from various parts of the US. The singer-actor took to Instagram on Monday to demand the removal of the status amid protests across the country.</p>

<p>"A lot of you know I’m from Tennessee...a state that happens to be the home of many many confederate monuments. I’ve been listening closely to the ongoing debates about what to do with these statues — and I really want to take a minute to talk about this. When we protest racism in America, people think we are protesting America itself. Why is that the reaction? Because America was built by men who believed in and benefitted from racism. Plain and simple," Timberlake wrote in his caption.</p>

<p>He wrote a long caption as he posted a video featuring the American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) deputy legal director Jeffrey Robinson. In the video, Robinson can be seen saying the top 10 states with confederate monuments "account for over 4,000 lynchings in 73 years from 1977 to 1950."</p>

<p>"This is when you hear 'But that’s all in the past'. So let’s be clear... those men who proudly owned and abused Black people are STILL celebrated all over the country," the post further read.</p>

In 2016, American media mogul Kim Kardashian leaked a call between her husband, rapper Kanye West and Taylor Swift that claimed the Swift was indeed aware of a line about her in the song 'Famous' where Kanye called the singer a 'b****'.

In 2016, American media mogul Kim Kardashian leaked a call between her husband, rapper Kanye West and Taylor Swift that claimed the Swift was indeed aware of a line about her in the song 'Famous' where Kanye called the singer a 'b****'. Now, four years later an unedited clip of Swift and West has come into the light which shows the entire phone call between Kanye West & Taylor Swift, where West tells Taylor half of the line of the song but not the last line in which she was called b**** . That, it appears now, was added later - in an edited version. The new leaked video has made Swift's fans believe that she was after all not in the knowing about the said lines and was unnecessarily dragged into the controversy. Soon after the video went viral, Twitterati within minutes started the #KanyeWestIsOver which trended globally. In 2016, Swidft had faced a backlash and went completely off the grid, and returned to the spotlight with her album, 'Reputation' in 2017. After the video leaked, the people slammed West for misleading them. One of the fans wrote,''How can you sleep Kanye? Lying to the world, you made Taylor suffer for a long time. Fuck off Kanye you're a jackass. Taylor wins every time cause us TRAITORS NEVER WINS.....KARMAAAA KANYE WEST IS CANCELLED'' See some of the tweets here. How can you sleep Kanye? Billboard Music Awards 2020 postponed amid coronavirus concerns

<p>Singers Taylor Swift, Billie Eilish and Ariana Grande have urged fans to 'behave responsibly' &nbsp;amid the outbreak of COVID-19 pandemic.&nbsp;<br />
<br />
The singers are using their clout on social media to raise awareness amongst people and are urging for a behavioural change as the respiratory disease has gripped several countries all over the world.&nbsp;<br />
<br />
Eilish took to Instagram stories to speak about the lack of awareness amongst many. “I’ve seen a lot of young people out in the world, all over the place, going to the club or going to the beach or just going out and hanging out, and it’s really irresponsible." the 18-year-old singer said.&nbsp;<br />
<br />
She highlighted that young fans could pass it to more vulnerable relatives, and added, “Please take responsibility for your endurance of this.”<br />
<br />
Taylor Swift urged fans to take 'things seriously' as she wrote on Instagram," I love you guys so much and need to express my concern that things aren’t being taken seriously enough right now … I’m seeing lots of get-togethers and hangs and parties still happening. This is the time to cancel plans. Don’t assume that because you don’t feel sick that you aren’t possibly passing something on to someone elderly or vulnerable to this.”<br />
<br />
On Sunday, Ariana Grande wrote to her 72m Twitter followers, “I keep hearing from a surprising amount of people statements like ‘This isn’t a big deal’… it is incredibly selfish and dangerous to take this situation that lightly. The ‘We will be fine because we’re young’ mindset is putting people who aren’t young and/or healthy in a lot of danger. You sound stupid and privileged and you need to care more about others. Like now."&nbsp;</p>

On Monday, Camila Cabello took to Instagram to share her journey on dealing with anxiety and meditation, accompanied by a photo of herself sitting cross-legged with her eyes closed."Meditation has changed my life in the last few months. I didn`t share this with you guys at the time because honestly I was just trying to be okay, but I was experiencing severe anxiety. it was a meditation- it was practicing every single day multiple times a day that has been healing me, and, more than just helping me manage strong emotions like anxiety and stress, it`s making me a better human," she wrote.</p>

I didn’t share this with you guys at the time because honestly I was just trying to be okay, but I was experiencing severe anxiety. it was meditation- it was practicing every single day multiple times a day that has been healing me, and, more than just helping me manage strong emotions like anxiety and stress, it’s making me a better human. not only does it help in times like this with stress and anxiety, meditation is the practice of strengthening habits like empathy, love, and compassion- making you feel more connected to not only everybody around you , but living beings in general like animals, plants, and the earth, which is a living being, itself. In times like these, especially as young people, even if we are healthy, it’s important to practice compassion and help others that could be suffering. We are in this together, let’s not be indifferent to others risk. it’s our responsibility to do whatever it takes to keep everyone safe. Empathy to others’ reality and solidarity could make the difference in hard moments like this. We can’t think that we will be unaffected because we feel young and healthy. we have parents, grandparents, friends, and neighbors, and we don’t want to be a part of the problem when we could be part of the solution. So I’d like you to take 10 minutes of your day today to either look up loving kindness meditation on Calm or YouTube. Or just follow these instructions: close your eyes and sit with your spine upright and feel gravity grounding your body to the earth’s surface and supporting you. Take three deep breaths and then begin to just notice the natural flow of your breath. Being aware of breathing in, breathing out. Following every inhale and exhale with your attention. Once your mind has stilled. Picture every human in the world right now, elders, people that have respiratory problems and are vulnerable, picture the people that are vulnerable, picture their families, and say “May you be healthy. May you be safe. May you be free from illness. May you be well.” Repeat until you really feel it in your heart ❤️- love you guys, please stay safe !</a></p>

Singers Taylor Swift, Billie Eilish and Ariana Grande have urged fans to 'behave responsibly' amid the outbreak of COVID-19 pandemic. The singers are using their clout on social media to raise awareness amongst people and are urging for a behavioural change as the respiratory disease has gripped several countries all over the world. Eilish took to Instagram stories to speak about the lack of awareness amongst many. “I’ve seen a lot of young people out in the world, all over the place, going to the club or going to the beach or just going out and hanging out, and it’s really irresponsible." the 18-year-old singer said. She highlighted that young fans could pass it to more vulnerable relatives, and added, “Please take responsibility for your endurance of this.” Taylor Swift urged fans to take 'things seriously' as she wrote on Instagram," I love you guys so much and need to express my concern that things aren’t being taken seriously enough right now … I’m seeing lots of get-togethers and hangs and parties still happening. This is the time to cancel plans. Don’t assume that because you don’t feel sick that you aren’t possibly passing something on to someone elderly or vulnerable to this.” On Sunday, Ariana Grande wrote to her 72m Twitter followers, “I keep hearing from a surprising amount of people statements like ‘This isn’t a big deal’… it is incredibly selfish and dangerous to take this situation that lightly. The ‘We will be fine because we’re young’ mindset is putting people who aren’t young and/or healthy in a lot of danger. You sound stupid and privileged and you need to care more about others. Like now." please pic.twitter.com/N9WkKyVNn1 — Ariana Grande (@ArianaGrande) March 15, 2020 × Also read: Chris Martin, John Legend live stream concerts on social media for fans quarantined at home On Monday, Camila Cabello took to Instagram to share her journey on dealing with anxiety and meditation, accompanied by a photo of herself sitting cross-legged with her eyes closed."Meditation has changed my life in the last few months. The year 2019 might be over but the records keep pouring in for pop sensation Taylor Swift for her last year’s music as she now becomes the best-selling international music act of 2019 in a report issued by IFPI, an organisation that speaks for the music industry around the world. This comes as a result of sales recorded for her seventh album titled ‘Lover’ which was released in the month of August. Taylor Swift had previously made it to the list in 2014 for her album ‘1989’. Speaking about Taylor Swift’s feat, Frances Moore, the chief executive of IFPI said, “Taylor Swift is the epitome of a truly global star. She continues to grow as an artist and maintains an incredibly strong connection with her fan base, whilst continuing to evolve her sound with each album. It is a pleasure to be able to present her with the Global Recording Artist of the Year award for the second time.” Interestingly, the acts that made it to the 2019 top 10 list are majorly from Universal Music Group that revealed it took over eight spots out of 10. The only non-Universal acts are Warner Music’s Ed Sheeran at number two and Sony Music’s BTS at number seven. The rest are Post Malone in number three, Billie Eilish in fourth place, Queen at number five, Ariana Grande in the sixth spot, and Drake, Lady Gaga and the Beatles at numbers 8-10. IFPI’s rankings account for consumption in all digital and physical formats, weighted by the value of each medium.
