<p>Taylor Swift has something super up her sleeve as she is set to release her new album tonight. She recorded a whole new album titled ‘Folklore’ as she kept to herself during the time of quarantine amid the coronavirus outbreak.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Announcing the surprise album on Instagram, Taylor Swift said, "Most of the things I had planned this summer didn’t end up happening, but there is something I hadn’t planned on that DID happen.”</p>

<p>"And that thing is my 8th studio album, folklore. Surprise Tonight at midnight I’ll be releasing my entire brand new album of songs I’ve poured all of my whims, dreams, fears, and musings into. I wrote and recorded this music in isolation but got to collaborate with some musical heroes of mine,” she continued.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Justin Timberlake is the latest celebrity to demand the removal of confederate statues from various parts of the US. The singer-actor took to Instagram on Monday to demand the removal of the status amid protests across the country.</p>

<p>"A lot of you know I’m from Tennessee...a state that happens to be the home of many many confederate monuments. I’ve been listening closely to the ongoing debates about what to do with these statues — and I really want to take a minute to talk about this. When we protest racism in America, people think we are protesting America itself. Why is that the reaction? Because America was built by men who believed in and benefitted from racism. Plain and simple," Timberlake wrote in his caption.</p>

<p>He wrote a long caption as he posted a video featuring the American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) deputy legal director Jeffrey Robinson. In the video, Robinson can be seen saying the top 10 states with confederate monuments "account for over 4,000 lynchings in 73 years from 1977 to 1950."</p>

For more than two decades, the Billboard Music Awards has honored the best in music based on the Billboard charts, and we look forward to celebrating the incredible artists who topped those charts over the last year. DCP and NBC will announce a new date and venue for the show in the near future."</p>

<p>Along with Billboard Music Awards, there is also an announcement that Telemundo and Billboard are postponing the Billboard Latin Music Awards. It was previously scheduled for April 23 from the Mandalay Bay Events Center in Las Vegas. The LatinFest+ conference, which was scheduled for April 20-23, at the Venetian, will also be postponed.</p>

<p>The year 2019 might be over but the records keep pouring in for pop sensation Taylor Swift for her last year’s music as she now becomes the best-selling international music act of 2019 in a report issued by IFPI, an organisation that speaks for the music industry around the world. This comes as a result of sales recorded for her seventh album titled ‘Lover’ which was released in the month of August.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Taylor Swift had previously made it to the list in 2014 for her album ‘1989’.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Speaking about Taylor Swift’s feat, Frances Moore, the chief executive of IFPI said, “Taylor Swift is the epitome of a truly global star. She continues to grow as an artist and maintains an incredibly strong connection with her fan base, whilst continuing to evolve her sound with each album. It is a pleasure to be able to present her with the Global Recording Artist of the Year award for the second time.”</p>

<p>Interestingly, the acts that made it to the 2019 top 10 list are majorly from Universal Music Group that revealed it took over eight spots out of 10. The only non-Universal acts are Warner Music’s Ed Sheeran at number two and Sony Music’s BTS at number seven.</p>

<p>The rest are Post Malone in number three, Billie Eilish in fourth place, Queen at number five, Ariana Grande in the sixth spot, and Drake, Lady Gaga and the Beatles at numbers 8-10.</p>

<p>IFPI’s rankings account for consumption in all digital and physical formats, weighted by the value of each medium.</p>

<p>Titled 'Miss Americana', the documentary is a tell-tale of the pop star who has seen a rise in fame owing to professional success with her music and some personal lows owing to public spats and the recently talked-about public feud with former manager Scooter Braun.&nbsp;</p>

<p>In one portion of the trailer, Taylor&nbsp;is heard saying,&nbsp;“Throughout my whole career label executives would say, ‘A nice girl doesn’t force their opinions on people. A nice girl smiles and waves and says thank you.’<em>&nbsp;</em>I became the person everybody wanted me to be."&nbsp;</p>

<p>She then adds in the Netflix trailer, “I had to deconstruct an entire belief system, toss it out and reject it. It woke me up from constantly feeling like I was fighting for peoples’ respect. It was happiness without anyone else’s input.”</p>
