Zimbabwe could have won their key match against Bangladesh in the ongoing T20 World Cup tournament on Sunday (October 30), but the game ended with thrilling last-ball drama and Bangla Tigers emerged as clear winners.&nbsp;

With the victory, Bangladesh regained momentum in the World Cup. This victory was made possible by opener Najmul Shanto's maiden half-century and Taskin Ahmed's three wickets.&nbsp;

Bangladesh opted to bat after winning the toss and scored 150/7 in 20 overs. While chasing, Zimbabwe could score 147 runs, losing eight wickets. But the match didn't end when it looked like it.&nbsp;

The match went to the wire with Zimbabwe needing 16 off an incredible last over, which saw two wickets fall, a big six and the teams. After the final ball, both teams started walking off thinking the match was over, only to be recalled.&nbsp;

When Blessing Muzarabani, who needed five runs to win, went out trying to hit a six off the final ball, the fielding team celebrated as the players shook hands and exited the field, and Bangladesh thought they had won.&nbsp;

However, a review revealed that wicketkeeper Nurul Hasan's gloves illegally caught the ball in front of the stumps, hence it was ruled a no-ball. With four needed to win, the sides had to go back for a free hit, but Muzarabani missed again, leaving Zimbabwe short on 147-8.&nbsp;

In his Twitter post, Mnangagwa not only lauded the team’s performance but also took a jibe at Pakistan, asking them to send the real Mr Bean next time.

"What a win for Zimbabwe! Congratulations to the Chevrons. Next time, send the real Mr Bean… #PakvsZim," the Zimbabwean President wrote.

The issue of fake Mr Bean came to the fore when Pakistan Cricket Board uploaded a post on its official Twitter account of the team’s players’ practising a day before the Zimbabwe match.

A Twitter user who goes by the name Ngugi Chasura responded by saying, “As Zimbabweans, we won’t forgive you…you once gave us that Fraud Pak Bean instead of Mr Bean Rowan ..we will settle the matter tomorrow just pray the rains will save you…#ZIMVSPAK.”

"Eventually we both realised, yes, we are moving in the right direction. Then everything was on autopilot. I knew what I had to do, how I had to train, how much practice I had to do," he said.

"Before that I was just practising, practising, getting a little frustrated sometimes. And I felt there was no quality in that - there was a lot of quantity. But after 2018 there was a lot of quality in my training, diet, net sessions and everything, which helped me really well.

"And then it was a complete build-up, runs coming in all formats, in the IPL as well. So consistency came with that and finally I broke the door," Suryakumar added.

The 32-year-old is currently one of the mainstays in the Indian batting line-up in white-ball cricket and is part of the T20 World Cup 2022 squad. When it comes to South Africa, the highest partnership for any wicket came way back in 2007. The duo of Herschelle Gibbs and Justin Kemp added 120 runs for the third wicket against West Indies.

"To score a hundred in a winning cause is fantastic," Rossouw told reporters after the match.

"Very chuffed with my performance today but more important is we got the two points."

An India-Pak game never feels like any other game at all, as far as I know. I have been playing since 2011, and every time I play against Pakistan, the magnitude and the enormous nature of the game keeps on increasing.

I feel honoured and privileged to be a part of the game.

They batted first and put up 158 on the scoreboard. It was extremely cold that day in the MCG for a cricket match and it was hostile. Even while playing, our hands got extremely numb.

They had posted a score and I thought that we could have restricted them to 140-odd runs because the ball was moving a lot early on.

But still I thought that given our batting strength, we will be able to chase down the score very easily.

On facing Pakistan’s bowlers

And just when we survived the first over of Shaheen Shah Afridi without giving up any wickets, we felt a bit relaxed.

But soon, we saw a fiery spell from Haris Rauf. It made me think that Pakistan has a great lineup of players.

In the past four years that we have played against them, they have gone from strength to strength.

They have been playing some really good cricket. And for that type of epic game of cricket to happen, you need your opposition to bring their A-game. For a fantastic game, their role is equally important.

What a wonderful display of bowling that was. Both Haris Rauf and Naseem Shah bowled like pros.

On his thoughts when India was 45/4

The memory is still vivid. We were 30/4. And in the 10th over, we were 45/4.

I was padded up from third over itself, thinking that I would just go as a powerplay enforcer should wickets fall down quickly.

There were many thoughts running on my mind.&nbsp;From 45/4, I thought that the only way to win the game was if Hardik Pandya and Virat Kohli scored 60 runs each. And I was assuming that if the situation came, I would do my bit with the bat and take the team through.

South African pacers were on the money as they ran through Zimbabwe's top order before a crucial partnership between Wesley Madhevere (35) and Milton Shumba (18) helped them put 79 runs on the board.

In reply, South Africa got off to a fiery start as opener Quinton de Kock went berserk with the bat from the word go. He took the Zimbabwe bowlers to the cleaners en route to a quickfire 47 off 18 balls. South Africa raced to 51/0 inside just three overs riding on De Kock's blitzkrieg.

However, rain halted play once again as the game eventually ended in no result with the Proteas despite the target being revised to 64 runs in 7 overs. South Africa needed just 13 runs to win with 4 overs and all ten wickets in hand. While it was a disappointing day for South African players, their misery was further intensified after a rare five-run penalty during Zimbabwe's innings following the rain-delayed start.

Zimbabwe were awarded five runs after an unintentional mistake by De Kock on the ground. The incident happened on the third delivery of the ninth over during Zimbabwe's innings when&nbsp;Shumba miscued a reverse scoop against Anrich Nortje and the ball went to Lungi Ngidi at fine leg.

Ngidi made no mistakes and threw it back towards De Kock, who had taken his right glove to be ready for a throw in case of a run-out chance. However, the ball touched De Kock's glove lying on the ground before hitting his pad.
