<p>People may have gained a life lesson or two from web series. But it is rare for people to learn a life-saving medical technique to save someone's life. Rare, but it happened. A 12-year-old boy Austen saved the life of his 30-year-old registered behaviour technician’s by using the CPR technique he had picked up from the Netflix series <em>Stranger Things</em>.&nbsp;</p>

<p>What's more heartening is that his mother, who was not so proud of his child watching the series, also gave him a pat on his back appreciating his actions.&nbsp;</p>

<p>In a conversation with the Guardian media outlet, Austen's mother Christina Macmillan said, “I was a little hesitant about him watching it,” pointing to the show’s science fiction-horror premise. “But I’m definitely glad that I let him.”</p>

<p>The incident took place on September 4 at Austin's house in Wellington, Florida. Behaviour technician Piquette and the boy were taking a swim. It was part of the nearly 20 hours of work they do. The duo engaged in a breath-holding competition seeing who could do it for longer.&nbsp;</p>

<p>In a bid to tackle the dangerous situation Austen found himself in, he tried using Piquette's phone but could not do so due to some security lock put on it.</p>

<p>He then started yelling, “Someone help!”</p>

<p>At one point, Austen recalled how Winona Ryder and David Harbour gave CPR to Noah Schnapp in an episode of&nbsp;<em>Stranger Things</em>, a web series that involves a group of young friends and shows supernatural forces in play.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Only about a few minutes, Austen was successfully able to revive Piquette. When Austen’s father returned home, he rushed Piquette to hospital where he recovered soon.&nbsp;</p>

<h2><strong>'My little superhero'</strong></h2>

<p>Talking about the creators of the show, Macmillan said, “It was definitely really smart of them.”&nbsp;</p>

<p>“He’s my little superhero,” Macmillan told the Guardian.</p>

<p>“It shows he’s more capable than what a lot of people give him credit for – and what he gives himself credit for.”</p>

<p>Actor Noah Schnapp, who is best known for his role as Will Byers in <em>Stranger Things</em>, took to Instagram over the weekend to share photos from his first Pride Month celebration since coming out as gay in January 2023.</p>

<p>Simply captioning the post, "First pride," he shared the happy and emotional moment with his 26.5 million followers.</p>

<p>As can be seen in the now-viral pictures, he donned white trousers with a shirt that said, "Straight outta the closet". He is also wearing rainbow headbands and hand bands, which is a symbol of LGBTQ+ pride and social movements.&nbsp;</p>

On the TV side, season six of <em>Black Mirror</em> clocked 58.7 million views, but the final season of <em>Never Have I Ever</em> had more accounts watching on average — 11.5 million vs. 11.3 million for <em>Black Mirror.</em></p>

<p>Netflix is also tweaking its all-time top 10 lists by extending the time frame from 28 to 91 days or four weeks to 13 weeks. This will help to give shows and films a bigger window for the streamer to know their long-term popularity. For Netflix, in this regard, <em>Squid Game</em> leads every other title. Next in line is <em>Wednesday</em> which moved ahead of <em>Stranger Things</em> season 4 in the English-language series list.&nbsp;</p>

Terminator actress Linda Hamilton joins Stranger Things season 5 cast

<p>Actor Grace Van Dien, who you may have seen in Netflix's <em>Stranger Things</em> season 4, is taking things slowly in her work life, especially after the traumatic experience. Grace has recently revealed that she was sexually harassed by one of the producers of her recent films.&nbsp;<br />

Van Dien, who played the role of Chrissy Cunningham in 'Stranger Things', recently during the Twitch live stream has revealed&nbsp;that she has turned down four movies and her focus is more on streaming, due to her experience on the movie set.<br />

"Here's the thing, I have seen that some people are upset with me for turning down acting projects and deciding to stream more, but the fact of the matter is the last few projects I've worked on I didn't have the best experiences with some of the people I had to work for," Van Dien said.<br />

By not revealing the name of the producers who harassed her, she said, "One of the last movies I did, one of the producers asked me to... like, he hired a girl that he was sleeping with and then he had her ask me to have a threesome with them."<br />

''So... that's my boss. And then I didn't and I cried and I was so upset. But when people are like, 'How is streaming better for your mental health?' That's how. I get to stay inside my house and play video games and I don't have my boss asking me to have sex with them."</p>

<p>Talking further, Dien revealed that she will make a comeback soon, but for now she's focusing on streaming.<br />

"I'm happy here, and I'm developing my own projects," she said. "I'm hoping that someone decides to fund them because then I can be in control of my own set, and I'm not gonna ask my actors to sleep with me."</p>

<p>In the Netflix show, Finn Wolfhard plays popular character Mike while Moah Schnapp plays Will. Best friends on the show and equally good off-camera, Finn and Noah have each other’s backs, or so it seems. Speaking of the equation they share, Finn said, “We’re not on everyday-text vibes in any way, and not because…do you text your cousins every day? Probably not. They’re our family. We’ll talk on each other’s birthdays. We’ll talk once in a while.”</p>

<p>Netflix is experimenting with a new method of payment from freeloaders who steal passwords. According to Variety, the company is introducing a feature that allows customers to legitimately enable access from a second home for an additional monthly fee in five Latin American nations.&nbsp;</p>

<p>The "add a home" feature will be available on Netflix in Argentina, the Dominican Republic, El Salvador, Guatemala, and Honduras starting the following month. Anyone in each additional home will then be able to stream Netflix on any device at a price that is less expensive than full standalone membership.</p>

<p>This comes after the streaming service in March launched a feature called "add extra member" in Chile, Costa Rica, and Peru that allows users to pay a monthly fee to grant access to Netflix to people outside of their households.</p>

<p>According to Netflix, users share their login information with more than 100 million non-paying households worldwide, including more than 30 million in the United States and Canada, in violation of the company's terms of service.</p>

<p>References do not alone make for good television. There has to be something new, good storytelling, writing, and character work that the show was missing, I thought. <p>In the volume 1 of season 4, a new threat emerges from the hellish dimension Upside Down. Called Vecna, he is killing teenagers. And the way this entity murders is just brutal. Season 4 is the most terrifying the show has been.&nbsp;</p>

<p>In the end, in the sixth episode that is, our heroes figure out that Vecna is actually Henry (Jamie Campbell Bower). Henry was a fellow participant in the experiments carried out by Martin Brenner (Matthew Modine) and the CIA. When young, Eleven became distressed by Henry's murderous ambitions and sent him to Upside Down.</p>

The children (if they are still that as most of them are over 18)&nbsp;in Indiana and California, and the grown ups in Russia (Hopper, Joyce, and their Russian allies) band up to take down the Vecna and close the access to and from Upside Down once and for all.</p>

<p>First off, these are extremely long episodes. While the seventh episode titled "Papa" goes on for 85 minutes, which is less than the preceding episode (98 minutes), the ninth episode ("The Piggyback"), also the finale, clocks exactly 150 minutes, which is longer than most feature-length movies today.&nbsp;</p>

<p>The episodes do, indeed, feel long. This issue of protracted runtime has plagued Netflix originals in the past. This makes me think this is mandated, and that the streamer probably gains -- or thinks it gains -- that precious viewership by stretching the runtime needlessly. A lot of stuff does happen, make no mistake, but it is nowhere near enough to excuse the slog.</p>

<p>Also, this season, the show has not just piled on nostalgia, but actually engaged with it. Sure, the show says, the 70s and 80s were great, but there were also fears about sinister cults, Satan's alleged influence and so on over the then-modern generation over harmless hobbies like tabletop RPGs.</p>
