In addition to the renewal news, creators Matt and Ross Duffer also revealed that the long-awaited Season 4 would be split into two parts. The first part of season 4 will debut Friday, May 27, and the second part is scheduled to drop on Friday, July 1.&nbsp;</p>

<p>The teaser is all about Eleven and her&nbsp;new life in California and how she's adjusting to her new school with Will (Noah Schnapp).<br />

“Dear Mike, today is day 185. I think I have finally adapted. I even like school now. I have made lots of friends,” Millie can be heard saying in a voiceover, even though in the trailer, we actually see other kids are disrespecting her and she's clearly&nbsp;lying. Further, the clip features some eerie and spooky music under different shots of Eleven looking afraid and&nbsp;a creepy doll, &nbsp;helicopters,&nbsp;car chasing scenes, explosions.&nbsp;<br />

On Saturday, makers also revealed that 'Stranger Things 4' will premiere in the summer of 2022, without a specific date.&nbsp;</p>

'Stranger Things' s4 teaser hints at Eleven’s dark backstory

<p>Disney+’s “WandaVision” began with a bold, disorienting move, taking viewers and depositing them without explanation into an unsettling bubble of 1950s television.</p>

<p>I am referring, of course, to the show’s practice of releasing new episodes only once every week.</p>

<p>Releasing TV installments on a schedule — “Same Bat-time, same Bat-channel,” as the show’s superhero predecessor “Batman” promised — was standard practice in the days of black-and-white TV, and still is on most traditional networks. But the age of Netflix has led accustomed streaming fans to getting full seasons all at once, and some WandaViewers did not care to wait for what an IndieWire review referred to as “inconvenient weekly installments.”</p>

<p>“WandaVision” is not the first streaming show to face complaints for not feeding its audience on the all-you-can-eat plan. Last year, Eric Kripke, showrunner of Amazon’s dystopian superhero drama “The Boys,” defended the decision to release Season 2’s episodes weekly, against some fans’ objections, “to have time to sort of slow down a little bit and have conversations about everything.” (“The Boys” did release its first three episodes on its premiere date, “WandaVision” its first two; Disney is also following the weekly model with its latest Marvel series, “The Falcon and the Winter Soldier.”)</p>

<p>Slow down? We are not much of a slowdown society these days. If people can have something, they increasingly believe they should, in Costco-size portions, to be savored or swallowed anaconda-like as they see fit. Who the hell is anyone else to tell us to chew between bites? We’ll chew when we feel like it!</p>

<p>Fans’ increasing expectation of — and creators’ occasional pushback against — the binge model resonates with other tech-driven arguments over how art should properly be enjoyed. Should the audience or the artist decide how the work is best experienced? Are you violating the artistic intention of an album when you listen to it on shuffle? Are you a cretin for watching a movie on your phone when the director insisted it be viewed on a big screen?</p>

<p>Certainly, advocates of “I want it all, now” can sound entitled, like kids on the Wonka factory tour grousing that the gobstoppers aren’t coming fast enough. But there can also be a kind of high-handedness to the defense of weekly airings, as if the communal watercooler ritual were somehow more authentic, and as if viewers needed to be guided toward the correct choice lest they, like children failing the marshmallow test, make the wrong one.</p>

<p>Maybe a more useful way of looking at the weekly and binge models is that neither is inherently better. Instead, they’re one more set of storytelling tools — like shooting in front of a studio audience, or not — creatively suited to different kinds of stories.</p>

<p>Release schedules, like many aspects of TV, are a case of the creative format following the business model. In the days of rabbit ears TV, you watched a show when it was beamed at you or not at all. Weekly (or daily) schedules built habits and fan bases.</p>

<p>When Netflix entered the original-series business in the early 2010s, it could have followed some form of scheduling. Instead, dropping full seasons at once was a way of branding it as a forward-looking business — this ain’t your grandma’s TV! — and a way to find viewers where broadcast TV wasn’t. (By letting viewers watch at their leisure, Netflix laid claim to the vast stretches, like Fridays and Saturdays, when fans had a lot of time and less marquee scheduled programming.)</p>

<p>For an era — well, a few years — this defined streaming TV. And the different formats led to different creative forms. Traditional TV serials broke stories into structured units with tune-in-next-time endings. Binge series are often looser in episode structure, sometimes to the extent that whole seasons can feel like extended “episodes.” (Or extended movies, such as Netflix’s “Stranger Things,” whose season titles — “Stranger Things 2” and “Stranger Things 3”— recalled the film franchises that inspired the series.)</p>

<p>Eventually some competitors, including Hulu, Apple and Disney, separated themselves from Netflix with old-school weekly schedules, at least for some series. And Disney+, with its first streaming phenomena, showed that the traditional TV schedule works best for shows that play like traditional TV, with tight episode construction and careful maintenance of suspense.</p>

<p>Mystery, in particular, lends itself well to the waiting game. In “WandaVision,” part of the mystery was the show itself: What were these weekly “sitcoms,” really, and who was in charge? The effect wasn’t ruined by bingeing (I recently rewatched it with my wife, who caught up on it over a couple of days), but it really benefited from giving it a long-term lease in your head.</p>

<p>Disney+’s “Star Wars” western, “The Mandalorian,” was a different sort of mystery. Each episode arrived with little information about what it was or where it was going. (The existence of its pint-size breakout star, Grogu, aka Baby Yoda, wasn’t even revealed until the end of the first episode.) Every installment dropped you into a new world, on a new adventure, without warning; it felt like watching a serial short before the main feature at an old-timey movie parlor.</p>

<p>But “mystery” here doesn’t have to mean genre mystery. This was the case with “Mad Men,” whose creator, Matthew Weiner, has said, with justification, that it wouldn’t work if released a full season at a time. <p>Regardless, it’s good to see streaming platforms experimenting with their schedules; hopefully, they’re starting to see “To binge or not to binge?” as one creative choice among many. It made sense for Netflix to prove that the binge model could work, which unlocked a form of TV storytelling whose rules creators are still figuring out.</p>

<p>But just because you can make TV a certain way now doesn’t mean you always should. Sometimes, good things come from those who make you wait.</p>

But the age of Netflix has led accustomed streaming fans to getting full seasons all at once, and some WandaViewers did not care to wait for what an IndieWire review referred to as “inconvenient weekly installments.” “WandaVision” is not the first streaming show to face complaints for not feeding its audience on the all-you-can-eat plan. Last year, Eric Kripke, showrunner of Amazon’s dystopian superhero drama “The Boys,” defended the decision to release Season 2’s episodes weekly, against some fans’ objections, “to have time to sort of slow down a little bit and have conversations about everything.” (“The Boys” did release its first three episodes on its premiere date, “WandaVision” its first two; Disney is also following the weekly model with its latest Marvel series, “The Falcon and the Winter Soldier.”) Slow down? We are not much of a slowdown society these days. If people can have something, they increasingly believe they should, in Costco-size portions, to be savored or swallowed anaconda-like as they see fit. Who the hell is anyone else to tell us to chew between bites? We’ll chew when we feel like it! Fans’ increasing expectation of — and creators’ occasional pushback against — the binge model resonates with other tech-driven arguments over how art should properly be enjoyed. Should the audience or the artist decide how the work is best experienced? Are you violating the artistic intention of an album when you listen to it on shuffle? Are you a cretin for watching a movie on your phone when the director insisted it be viewed on a big screen? Certainly, advocates of “I want it all, now” can sound entitled, like kids on the Wonka factory tour grousing that the gobstoppers aren’t coming fast enough. But there can also be a kind of high-handedness to the defense of weekly airings, as if the communal watercooler ritual were somehow more authentic, and as if viewers needed to be guided toward the correct choice lest they, like children failing the marshmallow test, make the wrong one. Maybe a more useful way of looking at the weekly and binge models is that neither is inherently better. Instead, they’re one more set of storytelling tools — like shooting in front of a studio audience, or not — creatively suited to different kinds of stories. Release schedules, like many aspects of TV, are a case of the creative format following the business model. In the days of rabbit ears TV, you watched a show when it was beamed at you or not at all. Weekly (or daily) schedules built habits and fan bases. When Netflix entered the original-series business in the early 2010s, it could have followed some form of scheduling. Instead, dropping full seasons at once was a way of branding it as a forward-looking business — this ain’t your grandma’s TV! — and a way to find viewers where broadcast TV wasn’t. (By letting viewers watch at their leisure, Netflix laid claim to the vast stretches, like Fridays and Saturdays, when fans had a lot of time and less marquee scheduled programming.) For an era — well, a few years — this defined streaming TV. And the different formats led to different creative forms. Traditional TV serials broke stories into structured units with tune-in-next-time endings. Binge series are often looser in episode structure, sometimes to the extent that whole seasons can feel like extended “episodes.” (Or extended movies, such as Netflix’s “Stranger Things,” whose season titles — “Stranger Things 2” and “Stranger Things 3”— recalled the film franchises that inspired the series.) Eventually some competitors, including Hulu, Apple and Disney, separated themselves from Netflix with old-school weekly schedules, at least for some series. And Disney+, with its first streaming phenomena, showed that the traditional TV schedule works best for shows that play like traditional TV, with tight episode construction and careful maintenance of suspense. Mystery, in particular, lends itself well to the waiting game. In “WandaVision,” part of the mystery was the show itself: What were these weekly “sitcoms,” really, and who was in charge? <p>According to the lawsuit, Timothy Hearl expressed concern about the risk of COVID-19 exposure during rehearsals which were held indoors. Unsatisfied by the response, he filed a complaint with the California Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA).</p>

<p>He complains in the lawsuit of having felt sick along with others from possible carbon monoxide poisoning due to car exhaust. He adds that some actors had difficulty breathing. OSHA representatives are said to have performed a site inspection of the Stranger Things set. Eventually, Hearl says, his employment was terminated.&nbsp;</p>

<p>He now claims his firing runs afoul of California’s Whistleblower Retaliation statutes, which protects employees from retaliation after reporting legal violations to authorities.</p>

<p>Noah Schnapp star of popular web series 'Stranger Things' shared on Saturday that his Twitter account has been hacked.</p>

<p>Schnapp took to his Instagram to inform his fans. "Someone hacked my Twitter, it`s not me. I`m trying to get back and ill let you know when I do."</p>

<p>The 15-year-old star had over 8,60,000 followers in the micro-blogging site.The message "suicidal thoughts" was sent out from the young actor`s account at around 3:27 pm, on Saturday.<br />

The actor`s account also retweeted a user who wrote, "just beat the **** out of @noah_schnapp and stole his phone #JOBS."<br />

Other tweets that consisted of racist and sexual remarks have since been removed.</p>

Noah Schnapp star of popular web series 'Stranger Things' shared on Saturday that his Twitter account has been hacked. Schnapp took to his Instagram to inform his fans. "Someone hacked my Twitter, it`s not me. I`m trying to get back and ill let you know when I do." The 15-year-old star had over 8,60,000 followers in the micro-blogging site.The message "suicidal thoughts" was sent out from the young actor`s account at around 3:27 pm, on Saturday. The actor`s account also retweeted a user who wrote, "just beat the **** out of @noah_schnapp and stole his phone #JOBS." Other tweets that consisted of racist and sexual remarks have since been removed. (With ANI Inputs)

<p>"Fame has a lot of negative and positive aspects. One of the positive aspects of my fame was becoming UNICEF goodwill ambassador and so now I have my platform. There are many actors and singers who use the platform to spread an amazing message.&nbsp;</p>

<p>"So for me, my message was children's rights. Making sure that children are fulfilling their dreams and getting what they deserve, their education, clean water, vaccines, home, a family and love and a safe place to be," Brown says.</p>

<p>'Stranger Things'&nbsp;is now coming back for its third season and the young actor says she is happy to be reunited with her co-stars, who became her "best friends" while working on the show.</p>

<p>"I'm just so lucky to have worked with my best friends and to experience all of this with them. When we go to the award shows also, it's great to have your best friend on your arm. When you're nervous, you just look at them and be like 'Are you feeling what I'm feeling?'" Brown says.</p>

<p>"We just relate with each other. You know you're not going through this alone. That's why we keep each other so close. We don't talk to each other every day. We don't talk to each other for a month sometimes. But when we do talk to each other, it's like we're going right back to our old ways again."&nbsp;</p>

<p>Brown says everyone on the show -- be it the adult actors Ryder and David Harbour or child stars -- are treated in an equal manner.</p>

<p>The streaming television powerhouse is looking to expand its original shows into other media, and the idea for a Stranger Things video game sprang up after its successful first season, Netflix director of interactive gaming Chris Lee said during a panel discussion at the premier industry gathering known as E3.</p>

<p>"It was like music to my ears," Lee said.</p>

<p>"We are actually hoping to bring people into our franchises through games."</p>

<p>A free Stranger Things mobile game was released in late 2017 before the second season of the supernatural thriller series.</p>

<p>A 'Stranger Things 3'&nbsp;video game tailored for play on PlayStation, Switch, and Xbox consoles, as well as personal computers, is set for release on July 4 as a download priced at $19.99.</p>

<p>Netflix this year will also release an eponymous turn-based strategy game spinning of an original 'The Dark Crystal: Age of Resistance'&nbsp;television series based on a dark puppet animated film from 1982 directed by Jim Henson and Frank Oz.</p>

<p>Netflix partnered with video game developer BonusXP and the Henson Company on the project.</p>

<p>"The Dark Crystal is one of my favorite fantasy films of all time, so it was a bucket-list item for me to be part of this game," said BonusXP president Dave Pottinger.</p>

<p>"The challenge with Dark Crystal is living up to 30 years of fandom and the expectation that comes with that."</p>

<p>Stranger Things writers are gamers, as are the show's characters and many of its fans, so a full-blown title building on adventures in the series was a natural fit, according to show writer Paul Dichter.</p>

<p>The game aims to stay true to the original horror fiction series while adding extra content to the storyline.</p>

<p>"One of the fun parts of taking something so serious as Stranger Things and turning it into a game is we get to latch onto levity and make the most of those moments," Pottinger said, noting that one of the game character's fighting skills features hair spray.</p>

<p>Lee revealed that a new Stranger Things role-playing puzzle game for mobile devices will be released next year and that Netflix is working with Ubisoft, Roblox and Behavior Interactive on games extending characters and worlds from original shows.</p>

<p>He joked that as much as Netflix loves its popular 'Black Mirror'&nbsp;series portraying disturbingly dark outcomes of technology, it has no plans in the works for anything based on the new episode 'Striking Vipers'&nbsp;-- the story of which revolves around two friends who have sexual encounters in a virtual game world.</p>

<p>Netflix Inc snagged 2 million more subscribers than Wall Street expected in the final three months of 2017, tripling profits at the online video service that is burning money on new programming to dominate internet television around the world.</p>

<p>The results drove Netflix to a market capitalisation of more than $100 billion for the first time. Shares jumped 9 percent to over $248 in after-hours trading on Monday after rallying throughout the month and rising 53 percent last year.&nbsp;</p>

<p>The company has signed up more than half of all U.S. broadband households and is building its customer base in 190 countries by spending billions on programming.</p>

<p>Netflix picked up 6.36 million subscribers in international markets from October through December, when it released new seasons of critically acclaimed shows &quot;Stranger Things&quot; and &quot;The Crown&quot; as well as Will Smith action movie &quot;Bright.&quot; That topped Wall Street expectations of 5.1 million, according to FactSet.</p>

<p>Along with 1.98 million customer additions in the United States, the company ended the year with 117.58 million streaming subscribers around the globe, despite a price hike in October.</p>

Netflix crosses $100 billion market capitalisation as subscribers surge

<p>As Hollywood battles, a bevvy of sexual harassment charges against some its prominent figures, this new report is bound to raise more eyebrows. Turns out the Duffer brothers, the creators of Netflix&#39;s popular show,<em> Stranger Things</em>, &#39;tricked&#39; child actor Sadie Sink to film an unscripted kiss scene with fellow actor Caleb McLaughlin for an episode in the ongoing second season of <em>Stranger Things</em>.&nbsp;</p>

<p>The last-minute addition in the script came into light during the after-show known as <em>Beyond Stranger Things</em> as the cast along with the creators sat and discussed the episode.&nbsp;</p>

<p>A clip that has surfaced on Youtube shows 15-year-old Sink discussing the scene with the creators while Ross Duffer starts talking about the kiss and says, &quot;all her own fault.&quot; Sadie points out that the &quot;kiss was not part of the script.&quot; &quot;I get there, the first day of Snowball&hellip; one of you, I think it was you Ross, you say, &lsquo;Ooh, Sadie, you ready for the kiss?&rsquo; I&rsquo;m like, &lsquo;What! No! That&rsquo;s not in the script&hellip; that&rsquo;s not happening,&quot; Sadie recalled and added, &quot; So the whole day I was like stressed out, I was like oh my god, wait, am I gonna have to&hellip; and it didn&rsquo;t happen that day, but then the second day of Snow Ball.&rdquo;&nbsp;</p>

'Stranger Things' makers made child actors film unscripted kiss scene

<p>Sci-fi drama &quot;Westworld&quot; and satirical sketch show &quot;Saturday Night Live&quot; led Emmy award nominations on Thursday with 22 apiece in a list stuffed with new contenders that reflected a booming era for television.</p>

Sci-fi drama "Westworld" and satirical sketch show "Saturday Night Live" led Emmy award nominations on Thursday with 22 apiece in a list stuffed with new contenders that reflected a booming era for television. With reigning Emmy champ "Game of Thrones" ineligible this year for the highest honours in television after it moved its seventh season to this summer, the door opened to five new shows vying for the top prize of best drama series. The crowded race includes British royal series "The Crown" and supernatural mystery "Stranger Things," both on Netflix; Hulu's breakout dystopian women's series "The Handmaid's Tale" starring best actress nominee Elisabeth Moss; and NBC's emotional family drama "This Is Us." Peter Morgan, creator of "The Crown," said he was "chuffed, thrilled, proud, honoured!" at the show's 13 nominations. Television Academy Chairman Hayma Washington noted the "explosive growth" in television, where more than 400 scripted shows vie for attention across streaming, cable and broadcast networks. "The creativity and excellence in presenting great storytelling and characters across a multitude of ever-expanding entertainment platforms is staggering," Washington said in a statement. The nomination for "This Is Us," which also received acting nods for stars Milo Ventimiglia, Sterling K. Brown and Chrissy Metz, make the show the first from one of the four leading U.S. broadcast networks to enter the Emmy drama series contest since CBS's "The Good Wife" in 2011. "For our show to even be in a general conversation with these other stellar programs - it’s beyond our wildest dreams," said Dan Fogelman, creator of "This Is Us." Among networks, HBO again had the highest overall tally, with 111 nods, mostly because of multiple nominations for crime drama "The Night Of" and female-driven murder mystery "Big Little Lies." “When we started on this journey, we never thought the series would connect on such a big way worldwide," said "Big Little Lies" star Nicole Kidman, who was among four actresses on the limited series to get Emmy nominations. Streaming upstart Netflix followed with 91 nominations and NBC at 64. Perennial Emmy favourite "Saturday Night Live," which has been on a ratings roll with its parodies of U.S. President Donald Trump and key figures in his administration, earned nods for Alec Baldwin, Melissa McCarthy, Kate McKinnon, Leslie Jones and Vanessa Bayer as well as a best variety sketch series nomination. Talk show hosts Stephen Colbert, Samantha Bee and John Oliver, who also have mercilessly skewered Trump and his policies, won nominations in the variety show category. The comedy series race features more familiar faces, with two-time Emmy-winning political satire "Veep" nominated again. Millennial hip-hop show "Atlanta," family racial comedy "black-ish," "Modern Family," "Master of None," "Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt" and tech comedy "Silicon Valley" round out the competition. First-time Emmy nominees included Oscar-winning actor Robert De Niro for his role as disgraced financier Bernard Madoff in "The Wizard of Lies," 13-year-old newcomer Millie Bobby Brown for "Stranger Things" and Britain's Claire Foy for her portrayal of a young Queen Elizabeth II in "The Crown."
