To celebrate Australia's first Test series in Pakistan in 24 years, the Pakistan Cricket Board and Cricket Australia on Wednesday announced the introduction of the Benaud-Qadir Trophy.

This will be a perpetual Trophy and will be presented at the end of each men's Test series played between the Pakistan and Australia cricket teams.

Pakistan captain Babar Azam and Australia captain Pat Cummins on Wednesday unveiled the Benaud-Qadir Trophy at the Pindi Cricket Stadium ahead of the first Test, which commences on Friday.

The Benaud-Qadir Trophy will be presented to the winning side at the headquarters of Pakistan cricket in Lahore where the three-Test series will culminate.

Benaud and Qadir were two skilful, distinguished and immensely respected cricketers of different eras who served the game with honour, pride and distinction.

Benaud got wrist-spin bowling noticed and recognised as an attacking and wicket-taking option, an art that was subsequently taken to the next level by Qadir with some incredible performances against high-quality batters at a time when express fast bowlers were ruling the roost.

Benaud captained Australia on the team's first full tour to Pakistan in 1959 and won the series 2-0, while Qadir played in 11 Tests against Australia in which he took 45 wickets, including 33 wickets in two three-Test series in 1982 and 1988 against Kim Hughes and Allan Border's sides respectively.

Individually, in 63 Tests from 1952 to 1964, Benaud took 248 wickets whereas Qadir took to Test cricket in 1977 and finished in 1990 with 236 wickets in 67 Tests.

For their respective heroics, achievements and accomplishments, Benaud was inducted into the ICC Hall of Fame in 2009, while Qadir was included in the PCB Hall of Fame in 2021.

Daphne Benaud, Richie's wife: "I am delighted to give my approval for Richie's name to be on this trophy alongside that of Abdul Qadir. Richie had very high regard for Abdul and the fact that both were leg-spinners has a nice ring to it."

As current players, we really are standing on the shoulders of these greats of the past who helped to grow and popularize the game in years gone by, and if my team can collect that trophy at the end of this series then it really would be the perfect end to the Test part of this historic tour."

Before the Benaud-Qadir Trophy, Pakistan and Australia have played 25 Test series with Australia winning 13 and Pakistan winning seven.

The girl had further stated that Yasir Shah had warned her of severe consequences if she went to the authorities to tell about the incident. "Yasir Shah said that he was a very influential person and that he knew a high-ranking official.

During the discussion, Akhtar credited Pakistan Super League (PSL) franchise Lahore Qalandars for the rise of fast bowlers - Shaheen Afridi and Haris Rauf.

Anchor Nauman Niaz interrupted him in between and said he was being over smart before asking him to leave the show if he wanted to. You’re being a little rude and I don’t want to say this: but if you’re being over smart, you can go. I am saying this on-air,” Niaz told Akhtar.

In a video shared on Instagram, Akhtar has now revealed he would have walked out earlier but it was West Indies legend Viv Richards, who was also a part of the panel, who stopped him and ordered him to sit down. Akhtar said he gave Niaz a chance to say sorry to him but the anchor didn't apologise for his behaviour which prompted the former Pakistan pacer to leave the show.

“I was a national star please accept that, you cannot say anything to a national star on national TV. There were many foreigners sitting in the show, Vivian Richards told me ‘I am ordering you to sit down.’ So I went back. I allowed him a chance to cover up, but he did not say sorry to me,” Akhtar can be heard saying in the video which appears to be from another Pakistani news channel.

The incident happened&nbsp;on a post-match show after Pakistan defeated India by ten wickets in their opening clash of the T20 World Cup 2021 on Sunday (October 24).

Akhtar, who was one of the experts on the show, was termed 'rude' by host Niaz before being asked to leave the show. The incident happened on-air on Pakistan's state-owned channel PTV with millions of people watching in Pakistan. "We know there are increasing concerns about travelling to the region and believe that going ahead will add further pressure to a playing group who have already coped with a long period of operating in restricted COVID environments." 
 
The ECB added that the men`s team touring under such conditions would not be ideal preparation for the Twenty20 World Cup next month. 
 
"We understand that this decision will be a significant disappointment to the PCB, who have worked tirelessly to host the return of international cricket in their country," it added. "We are sincerely sorry for the impact this will have on cricket in Pakistan and emphasise an ongoing commitment to our main touring plans there for 2022."

Babar said that&nbsp;as a sportsperson he is habituated to facing hurdles in life while adding that&nbsp;personal issues will not affect his cricket on the upcoming tours of South Africa and Zimbabwe.&nbsp;&nbsp;

"It is my personal issue and it is in court and my lawyer is handling it. We face all sorts of hurdles in life and I am used to it. This issue has not affected my form or cricket,"&nbsp;Babar&nbsp;said in a virtual press conference on Friday.&nbsp;

Azam is involved in court cases in Lahore after a woman named&nbsp;Hamiza&nbsp;Mukhtar filed several charges against him, including sexual harassment, threatening her, and false promises of marriage.&nbsp;&nbsp;

A Lahore court on Thursday asked the Federal Agency Cyber Crime Cell to file an FIR against Babar in connection with the case while ordering proper investigation as per the law.&nbsp;

Babar also said that&nbsp;discussions held during selection committee meetings should remain confidential.&nbsp;&nbsp;

"They are always discussions and disagreements and agreements in selection committee meetings but in the&nbsp;end&nbsp;it is always for the betterment of the team and players and shouldn't come out of the room," Azam said.&nbsp;&nbsp;

Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Chairman Ehsan Mani on Tuesday said that he is optimistic that Pakistan will&nbsp;host&nbsp;the Asia Cup in the year 2023.&nbsp;The PCB chief further said that he hopes&nbsp;the political situation between India and Pakistan would improve by then so that the country can host the Indian cricket team for the tournament in what will be a "big breakthrough for Pakistan cricket" as labelled&nbsp;by him.&nbsp;

“Pakistan has to host the Asia Cup in 2023,”&nbsp;Mani told&nbsp;GeoSuper&nbsp;in an interview.&nbsp;

“India's participation in the tournament will be a big breakthrough for Pakistan cricket. I hope that the political situation would improve by then.”&nbsp;&nbsp;

The PCB chief added that due to some recent developments, the relationship between the two countries has started to improve.
