Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) have been dealt with massive blows in the past few days. On Friday (September 17), the New Zealand cricket team bowed out of the tour of Pakistan just before the tour-opener citing security concerns. Following that, the England Cricket Board (ECB), on Monday evening (September 20), also announced that their women and men's team won't be travelling to the country amid security concerns.&nbsp;

As a result, Pakistan cricket is once again caught in a spot of bother, just when the country was starting to host international cricket games at regular intervals. With this, they are set to suffer a huge chunk of money as well. Pakistan's Information and Broadcast Ministry (I&amp;B) Fawad Hussain also took to his Twitter handle and had strong words to say for NZC and ECB. He wrote, "Cancellation of New Zealand and England tours cost PTV crores of rupees. Both boards will consult lawyers for legal action against them. Get rid of it quickly." (Transalated from Urdu by Google).

PCB's newly-appointed chairman Ramiz Raja also lashed out at ECB and the NZC and took to his official Twitter handle and wrote, "

"Disappointed with England, pulling out of their commitment &amp; failing a member of their Cricket fraternity when it needed it most. Survive we will inshallah. A wake up call for Pak team to become the best team in the world for teams to line up to play them without making excuses."

He said that international and domestic cricket in Pakistan has been put under pressure. "But we will do whatever we can and you will soon get to hear good news and results. In the meantime we have to focus and put our energy into our domestic structure to produce world class players." 'It's an unfortunate scenario': Ramiz Raja urges Pakistan cricketers to channelise anger into performance

The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) released a statement after New Zealand abandoned their tour of Pakistan following a "security alert" on Friday (September 17), when the first match of the series was due to start.&nbsp;

New Zealand were supposed to play Pakistan on Friday in the first of three ODIs in Rawalpindi, before moving to Lahore for a five-match T20 series.

After the cancellation, PCB wrote in a statement: "Earlier today, the New Zealand cricket board informed us that they had been alerted to some security alert and have unilaterally decided to postpone the series. PCB and Govt of Pakistan made fool proof security arrangements for all visiting teams."

"We have assured the NZ cricket board of the same. The Prime Minister spoke personally to the Prime Minister of New Zealand and informed her that we have one of the best Intelligence systems in the world and that no security threat of any kind exists for the visiting team."

New Zealand abandon Pakistan tour: 8 instances when sporting events got affected on security grounds

In a shocking decision, Pakistan head coach Misbah-ul-Haq and bowling coach Waqar Younis have stepped down from their respective roles one month before the T20 World Cup. The Pakistan Cricket Board on Monday announced that Misbah and Waqar have resigned and that former Pakistan Test players, Saqlain Mushtaq and Abdul Razzaq would be interim coaches for the time being. The sudden changes coincide with the induction of former Test captain Ramiz Raja as the new Chairman of the board on September 13.

Ramiz on his YouTube channel and as a commentator and analyst has maintained that he does not believe Misbah and Waqar are the best coaches for the Pakistan team. Even the World Cup squad announced on Monday bears the influence of Ramiz in the selection process as he has been inclined towards younger players and power hitters in the T20 format. "Considering that I would have had to continue to spend considerable time away from my family in a bio-secure environment, I have decided to step down from the role," Misbah said in a statement.

Waqar said that after Misbah shared with him his decision and future plans, it was a straightforward decision for him to resign as they had walked into the roles together, had worked as a pair and now also stepped down together. The PCB said that Saqlain and Razzaq will join team management as interim coaches for the New Zealand series. Misbah and Waqar were appointed in September 2019 and still had a year each left in their contracts. The changes come with the New Zealand side due to arrive on September 11 for three ODIs and five T20Is and the Pakistan side to assemble in Islamabad on September 8.

The PCB said that the team management for the ICC Men's T20 World Cup will be appointed in due course. In his statement, Misbah, a former skipper said: "The quarantine in Jamaica post the West Indies series provided me with an opportunity to reflect on the past 24 months as well as the schedule for international cricket ahead. "Considering that I would have had to continue to spend considerable time away from my family and that too in a bio-secure environment, I have decided to step down from the role. "I understand that the timing may not be ideal but I don't think I am in the right frame of mind for the upcoming challenges and it makes sense for someone fresh to step-in and take the side forward."

Misbah was initially also appointed as chief selector with his head coach position in 2019 but had resigned last year from the selection job citing a heavy workload. Waqar Younis said working with the Pakistan bowlers, including the youngsters, has been the most satisfying thing for him as they have now started to show progress. "Bio-secure environments in the past 16 months have had their impact, something we had never experienced during our playing days," he said. "The next eight months will be busy and exciting for the Pakistan team and, like in the past, I will continue to back and cheer them on. I want to thank each and every member of the Pakistan cricket team set-up as we stayed united in good and bad days, and hope there will be brighter days ahead."

PCB Chief Executive Wasim Khan said the PCB understands and respects Misbah's decision. "Cricket in this unprecedented bio-secure world has not been easy for anyone and Misbah has clearly taken into account the intense six months of non-stop cricket ahead. "Both Misbah and Waqar have given so much to Pakistan cricket over a long period of time and for that they deserve a huge amount of respect."

Wasim Khan said that Saqlain and Razzaq have been appointed as interim coaches for the New Zealand series. Saqlain is the Head of International Player Development at the National High Performance Centre, while Razzaq's domestic side won three titles in the 2020-21 season. "Both Saqlain and Razzaq are ready to step-up and are very much looking forward to making important contributions in their coaching roles against New Zealand."

Former Pakistan batsman Ramiz Raja called out Pakistan Cricket Board for not trying out young players and provide enough to test their calibre.&nbsp;

Ramiz Raja felt that Pakistan should have travelled with new players to Zimbabwe, who could have learnt something even if they lost. Pakistan had a successful tour against Zimbabwe as they cleaned up the hosts in the Test series 2-0 after winning the T20I series 2-1.

"Even if you lose with new players in the side, there is at least a silver lining that you figure out players are capable and those who aren't. You move on and test another player. With old players, who already who know what their value addition (to the team) is," Ramiz Raja said in a YouTube channel called 'The Indian News'.&nbsp;

Ramiz specified the reason behind senior and aged players not featuring in the T20Is.&nbsp;

"As far my understanding goes, I haven't seen a 40-45-year-old player in T20s on the international platform. It makes sense because your reflexes slow down and even if you were a world-class player, your performance drops to 50 percent," Ramiz explained.

He compared Pakistan's senior players with the Indian cricket team's former stalwarts MS Dhoni and Sachin Tendulkar.&nbsp;

"We don't have players of that caliber. For example, MS Dhoni and Sachin Tendulkar, despite being at their 50%, were still very useful. This just reinforces the fear we have about losing matches. For the sake of winning, we are destroying the system," Ramiz opined.

"Move on with new players. It will at least give you a sense of direction. Against Zimbabwe, if you had gone with new players and lost, nobody would have said anything because it could have been an experimental tour. There are very few occasions where you can experiment against an international team. Like I have said earlier, they take one step forward and two steps backward," commented Ramiz.

Raja finally said that poor decisions during the under pressure situation is the reason why youngsters are a long way off.&nbsp;

"When the pressure increases, call back the old players. When the pressure increases, call back the fixers. when the pressure increases, you play an extra wicketkeeper as a middle-order batsman. That's now how teams are built. It just goes to show the state of our system wherein the new players are a long way behind," added Ramiz.

Former Pakistan skipper Ramiz Raja called Misbah-ul-Haq 'the poor man's MS Dhoni' and urged the Pakistan head coach to adopt modern thinking to guide the team well.&nbsp;

Ramiz Raja compared Misbah's calm nature with that of Captain Cool, however, he said that former Pakistan batsman he has to change and adapt according to the modern demands of the game.

"Misbah's training and upbringing is different. Let me put it this way, he is the poor man's Dhoni. MS was also restrained, no expressions and not emotional. Misbah is also like this but I think now he has to go on modern thinking," Ramiz said in an interview on the Cricket Baaz YouTube channel.

"Misbah has to take a new direction because there is a need to set the GPS right for Pakistan cricket because aggression is in our DNA. I think at times he gets too protective and he gets cagey as soon as we lose a match. But if our products and talent is right we shouldn't be afraid of hiccups and setbacks."

Ramiz requested the board to appoint a chief executive for the Pakistan team and said that the team should stop relying on foreign coaches.&nbsp;

"In the past I could understand we needed foreign coaches because we were young to this field but now we have grown ourselves in this area. "In fact I think there is no need to have permanent coaches with the team for all tours and we should only be appointing specialist coaches as required on tour to tour series to series basis.

"Appointment of coaches should be tour-based and opposition based. Use their expertise for a series and move on rather than carry on with them for a long period."

'PSL brand destroyed': Shoaib Akhtar slams 'incompetent' PCB after league's postponement

Nauman Ali made a spectacular debut with five wickets and fellow spinner Yasir Shah grabbed four to give Pakistan a seven-wicket victory in the first Test against South Africa in Karachi on Friday.

Nauman, making his Test bow at the age of 34, finished with 5-35 and Yasir took 4-79 as South Africa slumped to 245 all out in their second innings on the fourth day on a wearing National Stadium pitch that favoured spin bowlers.

Pakistan, needing 88 for victory, lost openers Abid Ali, Imran Butt and Babar Azam for a total of 52 runs before achieving the target in 22.5 overs to take a 1-0 lead in the two-match series.

The second Test starts on February 4 in Rawalpindi.

Azhar Ali was 31 not out while Fawad Alam -- who hit a fighting hundred in the first innings -- hit the winning boundary.

It was only Pakistan's fifth victory against South Africa in 27 Tests.

Anrich Nortje bowled Abid in the first over after lunch and then had Butt caught behind to finish with figures of 2-24.

Azam, on his Test captaincy debut, was dismissed leg before by Keshav Maharaj.

"The credit goes to the players," said Azam. "Our bowling was outstanding on a slow pitch and the way Yasir and Nauman bowled, it helped us get wickets.

"When we lost four early wickets Fawad and Azhar put on a good partnership as they showed their experience. It gave us a boost and a very crucial lead."

Azam's counterpart Quinton de Kock, who endured a miserable 50th Test of his career, rued South Africa's first innings collapse.

"I think our first innings cost us the game," said de Kock. "That was a big reason for our loss."

It is South Africa's first tour of Pakistan in 14 years, after a deadly attack on Sri Lanka's team in 2009 halted visits by foreign sides.

De Kock dismissed suggestions that South Africa took too long to adjust to the conditions.

"We practised enough here but I think we were a bit soft in the first innings," he said.

In a spinners' battle on a brownish wicket, Nauman recorded figures of 7-73 and Yasir 7-133. In contrast, South Africa's spin bowlers managed just four wickets.

Pakistan had taken a crucial 158-run first innings lead thanks to a fighting century from Fawad and half centuries from Faheem Ashraf and Azhar.

The writing was on the wall as South Africa lost nightwatchman Maharaj on the first ball of the day, bowled for two by pacer Hasan Ali.

De Kock followed his 15 in the first innings with just two runs as he was caught off a lazy push off Yasir.

Temba Bavuma, who scored 40, added 42 for the seventh wicket with George Linde before being the last man out as Nauman took the last four wickets in a rapid 22 balls.

Having earlier removed Aiden Markram, who was caught by Abid Ali, Nauman dismissed Linde for 11, Kagiso Rabada for a single run, and Anrich Nortje for a duck, before trapping Bavuma lbw.

His impressive performance made him just the 12th Pakistani bowler to take five wickets in an innings on his debut.

Nauman Ali made a spectacular debut with five wickets and fellow spinner Yasir Shah grabbed four to give Pakistan a seven-wicket victory in the first Test against South Africa in Karachi on Friday.

Mohammad Amir on Thursday announced that he would be taking an indefinite break from international cricket while alleging ‘mental torture’ by the current Pakistan team management. Amir has been in and out of Pakistan’s limited-overs team since announcing his Test retirement. After the shocking announcement came from Amir, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) reacted to the news and released a statement as they confirmed that Amir has no desire or intention of playing international cricket.

Many former Pakistani cricketers have blamed Amir for betraying Pakistan by not serving them well in the Test arena. Amir had quit Test cricket citing workload issues and said that he wants to serve Pakistan in the limited-overs circuit. However, the decision didn’t go down well in the Pakistan team management.&nbsp;

Babar Azam has been appointed as Pakistan Test captain, which now makes him the captain across all three formats. His first assignment will be to captain Pakistan in the ICC World Test Championship fixtures against New Zealand, which will be played in Mount Maunganui and Christchurch from 26-30 December and 3-7 January, respectively.

Babar replaces Azhar Ali, who last captained Pakistan against England this summer.

PCB Chairman Ehsan Mani confirmed the appointment following a meeting with Azhar Ali on Tuesday evening in which he also thanked him for his contributions as a captain. The PCB Chairman subsequently spoke with Babar Azam following his side’s eight wickets in the third T20I against Zimbabwe and congratulated him on his appointment.

Ehsan Mani: “I want to thank Azhar Ali for stepping up last year by captaining the side in what was a historic first home Test series in over a decade. I believe Azhar still has a lot of cricket left in him and Pakistan cricket can continue to make the best use of his experience and knowledge as specialist top-order batsman moving forward.

“Babar Azam was identified at a very young age as a future leader and as part of his progression and development, he was appointed white-ball captain last year. With his consistent performance and leadership skills, he has demonstrated that he is ready to take on the additional responsibilities of a captain.

“As we are looking into the future, it is appropriate that we appoint him the captain now so that he continues to grow stronger with every match. I wish Babar all the best and remain optimistic that he will help Pakistan cricket make an upward movement across all formats not only through his performance but also with his positive attitude and result-oriented approach.”

National T20 Cup: PCB asks 240 players, officials to pay for COVID-19 tests

Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has said that it will not support any move from the International Cricket Council (ICC) to reschedule the T20 World Cup for Indian Premier League (IPL)&nbsp;2020. PCB further said the ICC should not prioritise a ‘domestic tournament’ (IPL) for an international tournament or bilateral series.&nbsp;

The BCCI is optimistic about conducting the IPL later in the year after the cash-rich tournament was postponed indefinitely due to COVID-19 pandemic and strict lockdown measures. ICC Board meeting is slated for Thursday and a decision could be taken on the T20 World Cup, however, an official announcement is not expected following a meeting.

PCB is of the view that ICC members should wait for a couple of months before taking a call on T20 World Cup. The Pakistan board also said a lot will depend on how the West Indies and Pakistan’s tour of England goes. &nbsp;

Pop quiz! What’s common between foreign policy debates on Pakistani TV and the ex-Pakistani cricketers' YouTube channels? Both have practically one fixation, India. And what’s the difference? While the foreign policy debates are an endless exercise in India-bashing, the YouTube channels are a lesson in India pandering! This has paid rich dividends for these YouTubers.
&nbsp;
India has 10 times more internet subscribers (706 million approx.) than Pakistan (76 million). To make money on YouTube, you need to ensure that your videos get lots and lots of views. These Pakistani YouTubers also know these two facts.

Sample this, Shoaib Akhtar’s channel has 2.12 million subscribers, Shahid Afridi’s channel has 650,000, Rashid Latif and cricket expert Dr Nouman Niaz’s caught behind has almost 300,000 subscribers. Channels of Inzamam ul Haq, Saqlain Mushtaq et al also fall in the region of around 100-150,000 subscribers.

Then there are channels and shows by Ramiz Raja, Mohammed Wasim, and Danish Kaneria etc. It seems, almost all ex-Pakistani players and their uncles have a YouTube channel today.

Well, on the face of it, it seems a good way to connect with fans, stay relevant and make a little money. However, their business model runs on Indian viewership.

Just scroll through the comments on these channels and you will find the majority of it coming from Indians, hence by extension, we can safely assume that majority of the subscribers are Indians as well. &nbsp;

First, credit where credit is due. Quality of cricket discussions on the Hindi news channels in India is absolutely the pits. It hides behind graphics and Ekta Kapoor-esque multiple shots of cricket stars.

These do a huge disservice to the Hindi heartland’s cricket fans and their deep and nuanced understanding of the game. Hence, with English discussions, which are marginally better but not easily accessible to the Hindi cricket fan, they turn to the internet.

The ex-Pakistani cricketers who have played cricket at the highest level and are untouched by English (most of them) put across the nitty-gritty of the game in a chatty, colloquial manner without compromising on the technicalities. This indeed appeals to the subscribers from India. Who doesn’t love it when Shoaib says “India ne Pakistan ki Fenti laga di”.

However, it is too naïve to just stop here. The Pakistani YouTubers have perfected the formula of keeping the Indian subscriber engaged. The secret sauce is profuse admiration of Indian cricket team and its administration and disparaging comments on the Pakistani cricketers and its administration in Pakistan. Most of these channels also are used to settle scores with the board or complaint by players about their frustrations with Pakistan cricket set up. Hence, you find an Abdul Razzak calling Bumrah a baby bowler and that he would have dominated him, ‘if’ he was still playing! Another YouTuber Tanveer Ahmed, an also-ran Pakistani medium-pacer from a decade ago, his negative and frustrated observations alone are enough to give depression to a Pakistani cricket fan. The story doesn’t differ much on other channels as well. Akhtar, Latif et al have complained at multiple times on not being offered fat jobs in the Pakistani cricket set up, of course, they don’t care for the money but to contribute to Pakistan cricket (wink, wink). Then there is the ugly, almost racist, fight between Karachi and Punjab cricketers. Bottom-line is that they are disparaging of their own cricket, their own cricketers and cricket administration. While some of it is richly deserved, there is a sense of it being overdone to offer schadenfreude to their Indian subscribers.

When another person's bad luck secretly makes you feel good, that's schadenfreude. I admit some of us do enjoy our schadenfreude at the cost of Pakistani cricket’s downfall.

As a kid of the 90s, we were at too much of a receiving end from the Pakistani cricket team, mostly at Sharjah, though now there is a lot of daylight between the two teams and that is unlikely to be made up by Pakistan in the next decade or so.

Pakistani cricket is caught up in the missing the 'good old days mode' without investing in the future. Its frustrations of losing a lot more and consistently to India does boil over. You had Imran Khan saying recently that he used to feel bad for the Indian team as his team used to beat the Indians quite often.

The facts of today cause misery, which then is translated into anger towards their own team. Not for nothing, Shoaib Akhtar’s video on Pakistani loss to India in the world cup, titled brainless captaincy has almost 10 million views, the helplessness of his explanations of Pakistan’s loss is almost sad to see. Schadenfreude. On the bright side, some of these ex-Pakistani cricketers are making money through their videos, even if that means selling out the very cricket team that made them heroes and that is perhaps why Pakistani cricket is in the slump that it is, self before the team.

The changed tunes of people like Afridi who once famously claimed that “Indians ke dil bahut chotey hote hain”; today can’t thank Indians like Yuvraj and Harbhajan enough for their contribution to his charity. Javed Miandad, father in Law to Dawood Ibrahim’s offspring, talks of peace between India and Pakistan through cricket on his videos. How the mighty have fallen!

The Hindi YouTube audience is truly now a force to be reckoned with and they are already making these ex-Pakistani greats dancing to their tunes. Pander on I say to them.

Pop quiz! What’s common between foreign policy debates on Pakistani TV and the ex-Pakistani cricketers' YouTube channels? Both have practically one fixation, India.

Ex-Pakistani cricketer’s huge Indian YouTube subscribers’ base. It's schadenfreude!

Since 2012-13, India haven’t locked horns with Pakistan, in bilateral cricket series, due to the sour diplomatic relations between the two countries. While India and Pakistan have clashed in ICC tournaments and Asia Cups, bilateral series are on complete hold between the two arch-rivals. The Chairman of Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Ehsan Mani has now accused India of being “unreliable” while stating that they can’t rely on cricket series between India and Pakistan resuming anytime in the foreseeable future.

Mani said that even though not having bilateral series against India have cost Pakistan but claimed that due to India backing out of plans in the past, they haven’t included the arch-rivals in their plans while adding playing them in ICC events is fine. &nbsp;

“Our position is clear that we don’t want politics mixing with cricket. India in the past backed out of its commitment and that’s why we aren’t including them in our plans,” the PCB boss stated.

'India are unreliable, can't resume cricket with them anytime soon' - PCB chairman Ehsan Mani on Indo-Pak bilateral series

Pakistan's controversial batsman Umar Akmal has finally opened up about his spot-fixing allegations. Akmal was suspended by Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) over the allegations on spot-fixing. This suspension came just days before the Pakistan Super League (PSL).

In a report, Umar Akmal has "denied" all the charges&nbsp;when questioned by the Anti-corruption Unit (ACU) officials. "The PCB has charged Umar Akmal with two breaches of the anti-corruption code which relates to not reporting a fixing offer," said a PCB press release.

The two breaches were from the Article 2.4.4 of the PCB Anti-Corruption Code in two unrelated incidents. Article 2.4.4 of the PCB Anti-Corruption Code reads as: "Failing to disclose to the PCB Vigilance and Security Department (without unnecessary delay) full details of any approaches or invitations received by the Participant to engage in Corrupt Conduct under this Anti-Corruption Code."

Umar had 14 days to respond to the charges in writing.

Umar has a history of disciplinary problems, having been arrested and detained for a day after a brawl with a traffic warden in 2014.&nbsp;

He was also banned for three months after a spat with then Pakistan head coach Mickey Arthur in 2017.

Last month he escaped punishment after making rude remarks to a fitness trainer in Lahore

Bangladesh board gets government clearance for T20I series in Pak

Bangladesh Cricket Board and the <a href="https://www.wionews.com/.../pakistan-have-no-dearth-of-talents-says-waqar- younis-271890">Pakistan Cricket Board</a> have been in much of a scuffle regarding the venue of the test series between them.

Today, Bangladesh Cricket Board is going to decide whether they will play the Test match in Pakistan or not.

In 2009, Sri Lanka's National Team bus on it's way to Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore was brutally ambushed by terrorists leaving 8 people dead and 7 Sri Lanka players and staff injured. After which Teams have been hesitant of tours in Pakistan.&nbsp;

Pakistan have managed to successfully host <a href="https://www.wionews.com/.../sri-lanka-arrive-for-first-tests-in-pakistan-since- 2009-attack-267140">Sri Lanka</a> in ODI, T20I, and Test Series after a long decade gap.

The fear of security lures in for the Bangladesh Cricket team. The BCB had agreed on playing the T20I in Pakistan as the T20 World Cup closes in, but they wanted a neutral venue to play two test matches.&nbsp;

These matches are for the <a href="https://www.wionews.com/.../south-africa-beat-england-by-107-runs-in-first- test-270868">World Test Championship</a>, so they are significant for both sides.

In December, Pakistan Cricket Board chairman Ehsan Mani wrote an e-mail to Bangladesh Cricket Board, asking them to provide valid reasons for not playing in Pakistan. &nbsp;

"We said we want to play only T20Is, but they wanted us to play the Tests. We will play the T20Is bilaterally before the [T20] World Cup. This was PCB's proposal today, but we haven't decided yet. We will on Thursday," said Nazmul Hassan, as reported by ANI.

Pakistan are&nbsp;fourth in ICC World Test Championship, with one win, two losses and a draw whereas Bangladesh are&nbsp;at the bottom of the table without a win and two heavy defeats. &nbsp;&nbsp;

Bangladesh Cricket Board to decide on Test Tour in Pakistan today

Bangladesh is ready to play<a href="https://www.wionews.com/sports/sri-lankas-malinga-to-retire-after-twenty20-world-cup-205008"> Twenty20</a> Internationals in Pakistan next month but the test series must take place in a neutral venue, the chief executive of the <a href="https://www.wionews.com/sports/bangladesh-cricket-shahadat-hossain-for-five-years-over-physical-assault-263170">Bangladesh Cricket Board</a> (BCB), Nizamuddin Chowdhury, said.

Test cricket returned to Pakistan after a decade with a two-test series against Sri Lanka earlier this month.

Rawalpindi and Karachi hosted Pakistan's first tests on home soil since a militant attack on Sri Lanka's team bus in Lahore in 2009.

Enthused by the smooth staging of the series,<a href="https://www.wionews.com/sports/pakistan-cricket-board-removed-sarfaraz-ahmed-captain-256661"> Pakistan Cricket Board</a> (PCB) has announced its team would no more play their 'home' matches abroad as has been the practice with test teams shunning the country citing safety concerns.

PCB's assertion notwithstanding, Bangladesh remains wary of touring Pakistan for a lengthy period, Chowdhury told the Daily Star newspaper.

"We stand firm on our ground. We only want to play T20Is in Pakistan," the BCB CEO was quoted as saying.

"The stakeholders related to the series do not want us to play longer-version cricket in Pakistan," Nizamuddin said.

Bangladesh is expected to play three <a href="https://www.wionews.com/sports/india-vs-australia-2019-schedule-squad-time-and-venue-197778">Twenty20 Internationals</a> in Lahore before a two-test series against Pakistan who completed a 1-0 series victory against Sri Lanka on Monday.

"Actually, we have no other option here. We can play the T20Is but if we are to play tests then it should be in a neutral venue," Nizamuddin added.

PCB chairman Ehsan Mani has hinted raising the matter with the governing International Cricket Council should Bangladesh refuse to play the tests in Pakistan.

"No one should be under any misapprehension as to where Pakistan's home Tests will take place," Mani told reporters on Monday.

"All of Pakistan's matches, against Bangladesh or anyone else, will take place in Pakistan.

"I still hope the BCB will reflect on the matter and accept there is no reason for them not to visit Pakistan."

Cricket: Bangladesh insist on neutral venue for Pakistan tests

Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) removed Sarfaraz Ahmed as captain across all three formats following the T20 International series whitewash against Sri Lanka earlier this month, an official statement said on Friday.

According to the statement, the change in captaincy came after "Sarfaraz Ahmed’s drop in overall form which has also affected his confidence."

"It has been an honour to lead Pakistan at the highest level. I want to thank all my colleagues, coaches and selectors who have helped me in this journey,"&nbsp;Sarfaraz Ahmed said in an official statement by Pakistan Cricket Board.

The board appointed Azhar Ali as the team captain for Pakistan’s World Test Championship matches while&nbsp;Babar Azam was named as captain for the T20 International.

Seventh-ranked Pakistan will play fifth-ranked Australia in two Tests in Brisbane (21-25 November) and Adelaide (29 November to 3 December) before hosting Sri Lanka and Bangladesh for two Tests apiece.

Pakistan is&nbsp;also scheduled to play three T20Is each against Australia (3, 5 and 8 November) and Bangladesh before the curtain falls on their international domestic season in early February 2020.

I want to thank all my colleagues, coaches and selectors who have helped me in this journey," Sarfaraz Ahmed said in an official statement by Pakistan Cricket Board. The board appointed Azhar Ali as the team captain for Pakistan’s World Test Championship matches while Babar Azam was named as captain for the T20 International. Seventh-ranked Pakistan will play fifth-ranked Australia in two Tests in Brisbane (21-25 November) and Adelaide (29 November to 3 December) before hosting Sri Lanka and Bangladesh for two Tests apiece. Pakistan is also scheduled to play three T20Is each against Australia (3, 5 and 8 November) and Bangladesh before the curtain falls on their international domestic season in early February 2020.
