Shah has played down the chances of the series getting materialised anytime soon stating that the BCCI's focus is on helping cricket expand globally which is a huge challenge for all major cricket boards.

PCB chief Raja had come up with a unique proposal earlier this year. He batted for a T20 Super Series involving India, Pakistan, Australia and England and said the profits from the tournament can be shared with all ICC members on a percentage basis. India and Pakistan have not played any bilateral cricket since the 2012-13 season due to the ongoing political tension between the two nations.

India and Pakistan have since continued to meet only in major ICC events. Any meeting between the arch-rivals is highly anticipated by cricket fans across the globe and the game between the two sides becomes a mega affair in any major ICC tournament. While the PCB is making all the efforts to resume bilateral cricket between India and Pakistan, BCCI has so far maintained a strict stand.

BCCI secretary Shah labelled Raja's proposal a 'short-term commercial initiative'&nbsp;while speaking to Reuters. The BCCI secretary asserted that the board will prioritise the expansion of cricket across the globe over such short-term initiatives.

"With the IPL window expanding and the ICC (global) events every year in the cycle, our primary responsibility is to safeguard bilateral cricket at home, with emphasis on test cricket," Shah told Reuters.

"I am also looking forward to seeing cricket at the Olympics, as that will help the game grow. Expansion of the sport is a challenge that our game faces and we must prioritise it over any short-term commercial initiative," he added.

Pakistan Test opener Abid Ali rushed to hospital due to chest pain, under observation

After New Zealand had abandoned Pakistan tour right before the toss of the tour-opener was set to take place on September 17, there were severe criticism of the NZC. However, looks like bygones are now bygones as the New Zealand Cricket Board (NZC) and Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) have reached a conclusion as the Black Caps are set to tour Pakistan twice in late 2022-early 2023 and also return for more limited-overs fixtures in April 2023.&nbsp;

As a result of England's commitment, PCB chairman Ramiz Raja lauded the ECB and shared Pakistan cricket's forward plan.&nbsp;In a video shared by the PCB, Raja didn't just thank ECB for confirming the 2022 tour but also revealed that he is planning to introduce U-19 and Women's PSL along with giving the countrymen a full home season every year.

"I'm thankful to the England Cricket Board (ECB), as it wasn't easy for them. They were under pressure and we became emotional when the pullout took place. Everyone saw how Pakistan made its case, and the result is they came here. The only thing is we and the ECB must walk together because it's important for every board to understand each other, their frustrations, meet the expectations. I think the ECB also understood they committed a mistake by withdrawing, and it was a knee-jerk reaction," Raja said in the video.

"This tour was important, and it's their gratefulness. Coming over here to sort things out and accepting their fault and promising to play two additional T20Is is good news for our fans because I believe Pakistan should have a home season so spectators come and watch and top teams should tour."

Ramiz also hinted that NZ might also take a leaf from the ECB and reschedule their cancelled&nbsp;Pakistan tour for next year. "We are also revisiting New Zealand's tour, and when I go to Dubai, we might announce a schedule. However, England and Australia tours are massive breakthroughs, and I expect our side to perform well. I want us to be a proud nation and our fans, our team, and the board to be respected. Also, if we are firm and honest, we need not fear anybody," he said.

Lastly, he also made some big promises and revealed, "In October, hopefully we will launch something like a PSL for Under-19 level. We are very excited because this has not happened anywhere in the world.&nbsp;England will send their Under-19 players, we will look after them. We will create a new property.&nbsp;Going ahead, I will give you a home season."

Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) chief Ramiz Raja said the board needs to forge a cricketing bond with the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) to revitalise the cricketing ties between the two nations. Raja recently met BCCI president Sourav Ganguly and secretary Jay Shah on the sidelines of the Asia Cricket Council (ACC) meeting in the UAE.

India and Pakistan, who share one of the greatest rivalries in cricket, have not played a bilateral series between them since 2013. The two sides meet only in major ICC competitions due to the ongoing political tensions between the two nations. However, Raja wants politics to stay away from sports as PCB tries to repair ties with India.

Raja opened up on his meeting with BCCI officials Ganguly and Shah and said a lot of work needs to be done to revitalise India-Pakistan cricket.&nbsp;

Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) chief Ramiz Raja said the board needs to forge a cricketing bond with the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) to revitalise the cricketing ties between the two nations. Raja recently met BCCI president Sourav Ganguly and secretary Jay Shah on the sidelines of the Asia Cricket Council (ACC) meeting in the UAE. India and Pakistan, who share one of the greatest rivalries in cricket, have not played a bilateral series between them since 2013. The two sides meet only in major ICC competitions due to the ongoing political tensions between the two nations. However, Raja wants politics to stay away from sports as PCB tries to repair ties with India. Raja opened up on his meeting with BCCI officials Ganguly and Shah and said a lot of work needs to be done to revitalise India-Pakistan cricket. "I met with BCCI President Sourav Ganguly and Secretary Jay Shah on the sidelines of the ACC meetings. We need to create a cricketing bond, while I have also believed that politics should stay away from the sport as much as possible and this has always been our stance," said PCB chief Raja. "A lot of work needs to be done to revitalise Pakistan-India cricket but there needs to be some comfort level between the two boards and then we can see how far we can go. Article 4.7.1 read as: Where either: (a) the PCB decides to charge a Participant with an offence under this Anti-Corruption Code; or (b) the PCB considers that there are other exceptional circumstances relevant to a Participant (for example, where any relevant police authority has arrested and/or charged a Participant with an offence under any relevant criminal law in respect of facts or circumstances that may also constitute an offence under this Anti-Corruption Code), it shall have the discretion, in circumstances where it considers that the integrity of the sport could otherwise be seriously undermined, to Provisionally Suspend the Participant pending the Anti-Corruption Tribunal`s determination of whether he/she has committed an offence.

Any decision to Provisionally Suspend the Participant will be communicated to the Participant in writing, with a copy sent at the same time to the ICC and, where applicable, the National Cricket Federation to which the Participant is affiliated.
