When the times were tough, all our experienced players stood up at the right time and got the game for us. Looking at how the tournament has gone for us, batting second in the first five games, we had to come and bat here. We were challenged upfront, they bowled pretty well upfront. For us to get to a total on a pitch that had something in it, we just wanted to get to a total where we could play with it. We were not great with the bat today. Losing three wickets isn't the ideal situation. When you are in a situation like that, all you are looking to do is create that long partnership, which we got. But couple of guys threw it at the end, including myself."</p>

<p>He added, "I thought we were 30 runs short. (On India's new ball bowling) It's not something you see everyday. When you start your innings, you have to somehow try and get a couple of wickets to put the pressure back on the opposition. With the experience that our seamers have now, you can always rely and bank on them to get those crucial breakthroughs. That's exactly what our seamers did. They exploited the conditions pretty well. <p>England's white-ball coach Matthew Mott has refuted former captain Eoin Morgan's claim of 'disquiet' in the English camp. Morgan, after England's loss to India in ODI World Cup 2023 on October 29 in Lucknow, had said that there will be sense of missed opportunity in the England dressing room.</p>

<p>England's title defence is almost over after five defeats in six games and Morgan said that the dressing room would be as flat as anything right now.</p>

<p>"They wanted to win this tournament. After this 50-over World Cup, the next one is in 2027. Eight or nine of these guys will not be here, they will be too old and the majority will have retired. In a special time for English white-ball cricket, there will be a huge sense of a missed opportunity, because the quality in that changing-room is hard to come by," said Morgan.</p>

<p>The English coach insisted that the players are still putting their arms around each other and he's proud of that.</p>

<p>"There's every opportunity when you're losing to splinter and go other ways," Mott said. "[But] people are putting their arms around each other trying to help them. It's easy to do that when you're winning, but a lot harder when you're losing and I'm proud we just keep trying to get up."</p>

<p>England's next three games are against Australia, Netherlands and Pakistan, respectively. England would be hoping to get into top eight somehow, or else they are in danger of missing out on the direct qualification for the 2025 ICC Champions Trophy.</p>

<p>Indian pacer Mohammed Shami was on fire against England in ODI World Cup 2023 in Lucknow as India romped home with a 100-run win for their sixth victory on the trot in the tournament. The India pacer, who was playing only his second game of the tournament, was particularly lethal against Ben Stokes. Shami bowled 10 balls to Stokes, conceded no run and then dismissed the batter as well.</p>

<p>Stokes, in total could play only 10 balls before Shami shattered his stumps for a duck. Coming in to bat at number four in the sixth over, Stokes faced four balls before Shami came back in the eighth over with menacing deliveries and ended his&nbsp;over with Stokes' wicket.</p>

<p>Before Shami's brilliant over, Bumrah took two wickets on the last two balls of the fifth over, dismissing Dawid Malan and Joe Root to start a collapse. England had done well by restricting India to 229 and fancied chasing the target but the Indian bowlers had a different plan.</p>

<p>After Stokes was dismissed, Shami came back in the next over, 10th of England's chase, and took out Jonny Bairstow on the first ball itself. With four wickets down for 39 runs, England just couldn't climb out of the hole.</p>

<p>English skipper Jos Buttler tried to hold the fort with Moeen Ali but Kuldeep Yadav got on through to Buttler and that was the end of the game for England&nbsp;which lost&nbsp;the fifth wicket for 52. England eventually got all out 129, losing their fifth game out six played in the tournament.</p>

<p>India skipper Rohit Sharma continued his rich form in ODI World Cup 2023 as he went past 18,000 international runs during the match against England in Lucknow. Rohit played a superb innings of 87 of 101 balls and now has scored 18,040 runs for India in international cricket in 477 innings of 457 matches he has played.</p>

<p>Rohit's runs are fifth most for India in international cricket behind Sachin Tendulkar (34,357 runs), Virat Kohli (26,121 runs), Rahul Dravid (24,064 runs) and Sourav Ganguly (18,433 runs). The Indian skipper also has fourth most international hundreds for India - 45 behind Sachin (100), Kohli (78) and Dravid (48).</p>

<p>Out of his total runs, Rohit has scored 3,677 runs in 52 Tests, 10,423 runs in 256 ODIs, and 3,853 in 148 T20Is. He also has 10, 31 and four hundreds to his name in Tests, ODIs and T20Is, respectively.</p>

<p>This is the first time India are batting first in the ODI World Cup 2023 in six games. They have so far chased five times in five games in the World Cup, winning all five of them. <p>“I think it's always special, you sort of soak in those moments and hopefully we never really take them for granted,” he said.</p>

<p>On being asked if it was special to perform and score runs before Indians fans, the batter said that he's proud of his heritage but he's 100% Kiwi.</p>

<p>“I've been asked this question a lot, but I guess I'm 100% Kiwi and I'm also very proud of my Indian heritage. But I guess it's that I’m proud to be able to do it in the country where my parents were born and where they grew up and where a lot of my family is," Ravindra said.</p>

The Men in Green have been fined 20 per cent of their match fees after being found four-over short in the stipulated time to complete the overs.</p>

<p>"The most painful part is doing the rehab after that and trying to get fitter and stronger, and convincing yourself that it's not going to happen again. It's mentally very, very challenging. When it happened, it was obviously frustrating. I was very angry at what had happened and started questioning why and all of that."</p>

<p>"But I started seeing the best in what happened much later when I was in Bangalore, and realised that it came at a time when I really needed that break away from the game, because there was a lot going on with me mentally - and, for the first time in my career, I felt like I had no answers," he added.</p>

ODI World Cup 2023: Mohammed Siraj reveals REASON for India's five wins in a row

<p>South Africa's Aiden Markram had his heart in mouth for a bit when he strolled out of the crease during the ODI World Cup 2023 match against Pakistan and Mohammad Rizwan shattered stumps. Pakistan, however, didn't appeal for a run out or stumping as Rizwan and Markram had a friendly laugh about the incident.</p>

<p>It happened in 17th over of the innings when Markram missed a pull shot off Haris Rauf. The ball went to the keeper and Markram tapped his foot back in the crease before strolling out. Rizwan, after a brief moment, threw the ball and it hit the stumps. Have a look at the video below:</p>

<p>Australia's Travis Head played his first game in the ODI World Cup 2023 against New Zealand on October 28 and showed why he was selected in the squad despite being injured. Head had fractured his hand in the ODI series against South Africa before the ODI World Cup but Australia still banked on him.</p>

<p>The batter opened the innings right away for the Aussies, and scored a scintillating hundred off just 59 balls as he added 175 runs for the first wicket with David Warner, who also scored 81 off 65 balls. The duo took the game away from New Zealand in the first 10 overs itself, scoring 118 runs - second most in an ODI World Cup match after West Indies' 119 against Canada in 2003 edition.</p>

<p>Pakistan bowler Haris Rauf took a sensational one-handed stumbling catch in his follow through in last over of his spell against South Africa to take his team on the brink of victory in ODI World Cup 2023. South Africa needed 11 runs in 30 balls with two wickets left in a chase of 271 when Rauf came on to bowl his last over. The pacer bowled two dot balls before taking a wicket on the third ball to tilt things in Pakistan's favour.&nbsp;</p>

<p>The Three Lions will now be focusing on 'salvaging something' out of the tournament, said Motts, while agreeing that it is going to be a real test of their character in the next four games.</p>

<p>"It's going to be a very sombre dressing room tonight. We came here full of hope and hoping to turn things around and we were well off the mark and it's going to be a real test of character to get through the next few weeks and make sure that we can salvage something out of this campaign," said the head coach.</p>

<h2><strong>Bangladesh’s run in tournament</strong></h2>
